Karen, thank you for giving us a sense of history for our challenge. History is important.
Though I never crossed paths or threads with Gary, I will bet he touched and continues to touch many people's lives. Funny how lives well-lived have ripple effects like this. Peace to his loved ones. |
junem When I joined this challenge "walk 1000 miles in 2012" started by Gary, I did not know that he was sick. When I started a new challenge "walk 1000 in 2013" I still not know that he was sick. I wondered why he dropped out.
Next year when I start this challenge again; I will do in memory of him. |

alyssarinker Welcome!!! And you could prorate :D Each month is 83.33 miles, so you start date could be May 1st ....8 months total...666.67 miles :woohoo:

If I walk 101 miles per month for the rest of the year I will meet my goal. This month my tally will be 113 miles. A slow starter here, but I will finish strong.

Nice walking Sum38, I like seeing your day to day progress, so will do the same. With gardening, a windbreak and a yard some days I get a lot of walking in. The day or two after I am having to recover. A bit behind on my goal for the year, but still very doable. Alyssarinker, welcome to this thread and hope you get some good walking in. The main reason I started daily logging was wondering how much I walked in the summer and wondering how little I seemed to move during the winter. I was looking for more accountability.
