Wow, amazing!!!!

jrkessle 12-28-2012 03:08 PM

I'm doubting that I will hit 215 by New Year's. I would say that 217 is more likely :/ was 219.8 today, and have been struggling with the scale all week. I've noticed large amounts of fat loss in the last 2 weeks, but the scale doesn't seem to want to budge... I don't feel like muscle gain would offset the scale this drastically :/

Learning 2 Live 12-28-2012 03:28 PM

Ugh, I'm so moody today.

It seems like I'm not going to make my goal of 199 by New Year's. I'm 2 lbs away and the scale seems to be stuck (or broken? :o). I could be retaining water because I haven't been drinking water for the past several days. But who knows if that's the problem?

I'm going to try not to worry about it. I'm simply not ready to plateau out. Not when goal is 42 lbs away. My right ribcage is really bothering me though. It's hard to get a good workout in when 1/2 my back, side and front is in pain. I can't even sleep properly.

Well enough complaining. Perhaps the cold and the complete lack of sunlight is getting to me. I gotta get out of this funk.

I hope everyone else is doing well. Laterz!

mothermavis 12-29-2012 01:24 PM

Back at it. Hauled out all of my old exercise DVD's and WII games, actually used WII Zumba! Now, going out to snowshoe with the dog. Have a nice roast chicken in the oven....will make it easier to eat well!

So close! Bought a ton of new clothes from Old Navy (size large - which is 2 sizes smaller than what i've been wearing for 5+ years now) and some workout clothes from Khol's! Can't wait to slim down this final 20 pounds between me and Onderland!

jrkessle 12-30-2012 03:16 PM

218.6 post-workout. Would like to be 218 even or less by post-workout tomorrow for the new year!

Learning 2 Live 12-31-2012 09:48 AM

I'm calling it! Even though I barely squeaked through the door on this one.

Weighed in this morning at 199.9 lbs. Yeah it's just 1/10th of a pound and yeah I exhaled when I got on the scale. But dammit that was pre-exercise weight and I'm counting it! Meeting a friend at the gym today. I have a few errands to run beforehand, but I gotta play the Rocky Theme Song before I leave.

:woohoo: :strong:

Happy New Year, Everyone!! Welcome, 2013! :welcome3:

Learning 2 Live 01-01-2013 11:53 AM

My Weigh-In Day is here and I'm the same weight as yesterday. I'm a little disappointed that I didn't lose more weight. But I wasn't entirely OP these last two weeks. I still have a rib/muscle injury which makes working out a chore. I don't feel very motivated as of yet. I can't wait until this pain in my side is gone. I guess I should be thankful that the trend is still decreasing weight. But if I don't lose 2 lbs a week consistently for the rest of the challenge I'm not going to reach my Spring Goal of 180 lbs. :(

Just checking in. Went on the treadmill for 45 minutes today and 35 minutes yesterday. Hope everyone had a great New Year! 2013 has a lot of good things in store for us.

Lishar 01-02-2013 09:21 PM

Hello ladies. I have been laying low. I did not stay on plan over the holidays. I let myself go a bit. So now I am pulling myself up and getting back on plan. Happy New Year. 2013 will be an amazing year for everyone.

Learning 2 Live 01-02-2013 09:29 PM

Welcome Back Lishar! The important thing is to never give up and to drink enough water to combat water weight. :D

Random Question: Does anyone use fiber supplements? I've been trying Luna Fiber Bars and although they are quite tasty, they make me feel really bloated. And I'm not too happy about that...

tyla 01-03-2013 05:07 PM

Learning2Live, I forgot to congratulate you for reaching 199.9! And yes, you are officially under 200! :congrat: :woohoo:

So glad that the first of the year is here, and that we all have a fresh start. I'm trying to stay away from sugar, as it seems that's a no no for me. It gets me started in the wrong direction. I just got off the treadmill and feel super great! Let's keep it going. >>>>

Learning 2 Live 01-03-2013 05:40 PM

Thank you Tyla! I am now solidly in Onederland. Today I was 198.3. I swear I still don't believe it. But I have upped my water intake to try to combat any water weight. And I am definitely back on track with my exercise. Advil has helped with the rib pain. I need to go buy some fruit, though, cuz I can't have any real sweets in the house. They set me down a bad path too.

Snowbrocade 01-03-2013 05:49 PM

Hi everyone--loving hearing about everyones progress--I have had bad internet probs and everytime I get a post in it goes out on me!

just going to post this right now in case!

sno

Snowbrocade 01-03-2013 05:51 PM

so I am up 4 lbs from my pre-christmas post--now I am 234-- and am slowly getting back on track. I feel good tho--I am pleased with my progress last year and feel I have learned a lot. and I am confident I will reach my goals this year.

cheers to everyone!

Lishar 01-04-2013 02:23 PM

Learning 2 live big congrats for reaching onderland. woohoo

Sno I gained 4lbs too. I am down 2 of those since I started back last week. I am feeling better about my progress. I too am happy with the progress I have made since August. I just need to keep on plan and moving forward.

I am not beating myself up for gaining. It was the holidays and the tempation was just too much. My mom brought a huge batch of cookies and once I started it was really hard to stop. So I ended up making my husband take them all to work. I just need to start buying healthy snacks.

Have a great weekend everyone.

free 01-04-2013 07:34 PM

I'm gonna jump in here. Can't wait to see how much I can lose by Spring!

TheLauren 01-04-2013 08:19 PM

I'm a little late joining up, but spring is an exciting prospect. I can easily lose 20-30 pounds, bringing me down to 250. I haven't been that weight in years!

Learning 2 Live 01-05-2013 11:38 AM

Well, I bounced back up to 200.6 today.

I was thinking yesterday that maybe I shouldn't really worry about the rate of weight loss. Cuz you can only control your actions, not how your body responds to them. I exercise and I now drink more water than I ever bothered to do before, but I'm back up over 200. Oh well. Nothing I can do other than keep trudging along.

tyla 01-07-2013 01:14 PM

Just got off the treadmill. Had a great breakfast, and off to a good day.

Good luck, everyone! :dust: :dust:

Lishar 01-07-2013 03:31 PM

Just checking in again. I have lost my holiday gain. So back to 218 again. Back on track and back on plan. I worked hard the last 3 days on exercise again. I am sure that is one reason I finally got rid of those pounds.

This weekend I walked my stairs again since the Y does not have have childcare in the evenings on the weekend. I keep pushing myself to do more. I was able to walk 137 sets to make 150 set of stairs for the day. A personal best for me. Walking up/down your stairs for an hour give you a good burn. 500 calories per my HRM. Its cold and raining outside so not much I can do at home. It works for me. I love my fitbit because it counts them for me.

Have a great week ladies.

lisha91 01-08-2013 03:26 AM

I'm late as well But these always seem to boost my confidence. 250 -260 would make me a happy camper. Goodluck everyone :)

Mountain Mamma 01-08-2013 02:44 PM

Hello everyone. lisha91, free and TheLauren :welcome:

Lishar, impressed you took to the stairs when you couldn't go to the gym. There are those ( sound like this writer  ?) that use any excuse not to exercise!!! (Like the new profile pix, btw!)

Well, like many others, I have gained about 4 -6 lbs over the holidays. UNLIKE Lishar & others, I haven't lost it yet. But, it is what it is, could have been worse, time to get back to plan. Tyla, as always, inspires with exercise!

Good luck everyone!!!

tyla 01-09-2013 01:43 PM

Thank you, Mountain Mamma! We can make 2013 a great year! Let's not get on the scale for a while. Let's just try to eat and exercise like thin people do. We can do this!

I just got off the treadmill. I plan to do an hour today. (So far I've done 47 min.)

Welcome, lisha91, free and TheLauren!

Let's stay strong together! :strong:

Learning 2 Live 01-09-2013 01:48 PM

Agreed! Let's ignore the scale for a while!

I was so stressed lately that I ate 8 chocolate cupcakes (no frosting) over the past 2 days as well as chinese food.

But I did go for a morning walk today and I am going to the gym tonight for some cardio and a kettlebell class. So I'm still exercising. My eating has just been out of whack.

Snowbrocade 01-09-2013 03:08 PM

Big Welcome to Lisha, Lauren and Free--lets do it!@!

still kinda not exacly back on track over here--doing better, not gaining not losing. need to get focused!!

Fluffypuppy 01-09-2013 11:46 PM

Hi! I would like to join this challenge. I had a great day. Went to the basketball game (Raptors) and kept my eating almost on plan, only about 100 cals over! We got Chinese take-out before the game but I really resisted and then took my own measured, portion-controlled snack to the game. I feel so pleased! Today was also really the first day I told my family I was trying to lose weight and they were so supportive, without becoming the food police.

10 weeks til spring. I am going to be conservative with my goal so I don't feel like a failure if my weight loss slows down. Right now I am losing about 2 lbs/week but I anticipate it slowing so I'll make my goal 12lbs. That will put me at 149lbs. Under 150 and 25 lbs lost since I started.

Snowbrocade 01-10-2013 02:29 PM

10 weeks to go!

Hi all!

well I bought a bunch of veggies to fix and am getting motivated here. I did well yesterday--eating fruit in the evening.

I am going to set a high goal for the next 10 weeks--20 lbs. since I am at 234 that would make me at 214 for spring.

welcome to Fluffy!!

jrkessle 01-14-2013 09:00 PM

Finally getting back into the weightloss groove at school. Down to 220.2 :) Hoping to be at 219.8 for the morning weigh-in for another challenge :D

thnknthin1 01-15-2013 07:19 PM

Hey all! I'd love to join this challenge. I would like to be down 25lbs by the first day of Spring.

Lishar 01-16-2013 11:00 AM

I was on a roll getting my holiday weight off. Now its back to the slump. I have upped my exercise but that does not seem to be helping. I was in a huge funk yesterday. I had a I dont give a F*&k day. I did not overeat I just did not care if I did or not.

I think I realized that I was having a pitty party because no one except my parents and my husband has noticed that I have lost almost 50lbs. Part of this maybe that I have kept my weight loss quiet. I guess coming up on a big milestone I thought someone else might have noticed. I have been trying to get over myself and not care. Its just hard.

One suprise is I found several pairs of pants that I had put away that fit. Some 18 and some 16's. I thought I was going to have to buy new pants soon. My 20's are way too big even with a belt. I have to go through the box to see if there are any more that fit. Most are 14 so I have something to look forward to. My mom gave me several bags of cloths when she lost 65lbs a few years ago. I was not ready to really lose at that time.

I was feeling bad so I made a side by side photo to prove to me that there is a difference. Here it is
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...F4FC41081A.jpg

Learning 2 Live 01-16-2013 06:09 PM

Lishar, I definitely notice a difference. I see it in your face as well as your waist for sure. You just have to remember that you're not doing this for "them." You're doing this for yourself. Now in some cases it might be jealousy keeping people from acknowledging the changes they see in you. But I've also found that some people, myself included, just don't feel comfortable bringing attention to someone. Sometimes I'll see someone after a while and notice that they lost weight, but I worry that if I say something like, "Wow, you look great, you must have lost weight!" what they'd really hear is, "Wow, you used to look terrible, I'm glad you look less terrible now!"

On the other hand, I will definitely say something if I see someone is working hard at it. I'll be sure to congratulate people I know when I meet them at exercise classes. For some reason it's easier for me to say it at a gym or fitness studio than it is for me to say it at a coffee shop. It just feels out of place to me.

****************

And now on to the thing I've been avoiding: My Weigh In. I'm going to post my lowest weight from yesterday. I had finally gotten down to the 198s again and I was there today. But I always wait until I have 3 consecutive scale readings, before I change my ticker. I've been in the 200s mostly as of late, so I may wait for 4 consecutive 198s before I change it. We'll see...

12/1/2012: 207.3
12/15/2012: 202.2
