NYE: Welcome to Onederland Challenge!

Hey Everyone...I was on the Two-teens to Onderland Thread and it seems like there are quite a few people who would like to get to Onederland by New Year's Eve. This seems like a completely doable goal but it's nice to have a challenge to help motivate us and keep us on track.

Everyone probably has a diet plan and/or exercise plan that's working for them so the challenge is as follows:

1. Stay on track with your current diet plan but challenge yourself in some way. ex) If you struggle with late-night snacking, commit to eating healthy snacks earlier.

2. If you're a runner, jogger, walker, weight-lifter...challenge yourself by adding 5-10 minutes more of exercise or adding 5 more pounds to your normal weight lifting routine.

I'd love if everyone who's interested would check in every day and talk about the actions we've taken to staying on plan but we should start by listing our personal commitments.

I'll go first!

ChickieBoom 11-09-2012 11:36 AM

I'm happy with my current low-carb diet plan so I am going to make a commitment to exercise at least 4 days a week with at least 2 days of weight lifting.

I'm thinking Monday & Wednesday - weight lifting
Tuesday & Thursday - cardio

kisskiss 11-10-2012 05:10 PM

Yay I'll join. I still have hope that I can make 199 by NYE. So for me, My goal is to eat healthier. I really have been doing pretty good on staying with in calories, but I've been eating not so good things.
2. I need to start exercising again. I haven't gone to the gym since I hurt my back in July (!!). my goal is to start off slow, so walking for 20-30 minutes a day around the block. I'm terrified of hurting my back again, so I don't want to commit to and cardio machines or weight lifting at this point.

MizMelis 11-11-2012 06:23 PM

I'm up for joining another challenge to keep up motivation and to keep myself accountable (which i really hate to say i haven't in the last week or two).
My eating habits for the most part are normally really good(except the last two weeks), as in no refined sugar, very little processed items (other then olive oil, coconut oil, spices...etc), no dairy and absolutely no grain.

The only problem i have is to have the motivation to exercise.

So, I commit to getting back on track to eating as clean as possible. I also commit to using my manual Elliptical machine a minimum of twice a week or more.

Fatness 11-11-2012 06:40 PM

I am in!

I am hoping to be 190 by NYE! I will had 10 mins to my work and eat healthy!

Will check in once a week to give an update!

ChickieBoom 11-12-2012 10:47 AM

Welcome everyone! I'm so glad we're all in this together!

Today is Monday and the Hip Hop Abs dvd is calling my name so I will do my workout when I get home from work...no excuses.

How do you ladies feel about committing to 30 minutes of cardio today?

MizMelis 11-12-2012 11:33 AM

I can commit to 30 minutes of cardio after i get my housework done this afternoon. (were having a very rare warm day today and I have all my windows open.. seriously fantastic weather today lol)

kisskiss 11-12-2012 12:06 PM

I'm gonna aim to walk around the block today. But, I'm Taking my nephew to the zoo, so I might not have time. He turns 2, today!!!

Walking around the Zoo can be a great workout! Sounds like fun. My thighs are burning from walking up a steep hill on Saturday!

ChickieBoom 11-13-2012 10:01 AM

I'm going to get in 30 minutes of weight lifting at lunch today. My arms are looking pretty saggy and pathetic.

kisskiss 11-13-2012 11:48 AM

wow the zoo was quite the workout: 2+ hours of walking! I also managed to walk around the block for another 15 minutes, so I'm going to call yesterday successful.

Today, I plan on doing a walk the mile DVD (biggest Loser DVD).

MizMelis 11-13-2012 12:10 PM

I got my housework done yesterday, but i didn't get a chance to get on my Elliptical (I fell asleep lol)

However, I got an good hour long walk in this morning, so I figure that has to count for something lol.

lol Were incredibly lucky that it was warm yesterday, as well as just as warm today, but tomorrow it's supposed to drop pretty low, So i think today will be the last day for any kind of warm weather lol
Although, i love walking in the cooler weather as well, so long as it's not too cold lol

kisskiss 11-13-2012 12:15 PM

MisMeliz: of course walking counts! :) heck Housework can even be calorie burning activity at times

everyone good luck this week! I'm super excited because i work for a school district and we get ALL of next week off for thanksgiving vacation :D

ChickieBoom 11-14-2012 10:04 AM

So jealous of you West Coast ladies! I'm in DC and it's freezing here today. Like don't want to get out of your bed cold.

I'm taking a yoga class tonight which I'm pretty excited about so we'll see how that goes.

Hope everyone is having a great day!

kisskiss 11-15-2012 06:14 PM

How are you ladies doing today? I walked for about 30 minutes, so yay! Still at 216 though :(

ChickieBoom 11-16-2012 12:02 PM

Tomorrow is my official weigh in day and I like to weigh myself first thing in the morning so we'll see. I'll be very happy with a one pound loss. My birthday is on Thursday so I'm going out with some friends tomorrow night...Salsa dancing! I'm super excited!

Fatness 11-19-2012 10:09 PM

This is amazing! Congrats! I can't wait to get to Onederland. I'm plodding along now but little by little the weight is coming off so I wont complain.

How is everyone else doing?

Fatness 11-21-2012 07:52 AM

Thanks so much!

kisskiss 11-22-2012 09:02 PM

ChickieBoom 11-26-2012 10:05 AM

Hello everyone! How did you make it through the holiday? I was in New York with my family and had a great time and was able to stay on plan! I'm down 2 pounds this week and I also started my Power 90 workout dvd this morning. It was only 34 minutes but I was so glad to get started!

kisskiss 11-27-2012 02:57 PM

ChickieBoom: my holidays were really nice. This is the first year it was more about family than food. I did pretty good, I resisted ALL desserts :)
I did indulge past my calories, but not enough for me to regret it.
I'm down to 213 this morning. How's everyone else doing?

jrkessle 11-27-2012 06:31 PM

I was 223 on Sunday, which is the big 50 for me! I'm excited to get as close to Onederland as possible by NYE!

Fatness 12-01-2012 03:36 AM

I been having a hard time this week.. Omg! I change my diet to collard greens and spinach and I tell you, I could not lose one MOFO pound! Grrrrrrrr! So I ate a salad instead and lard I lost a pound! Wtf

However, I love spinach, so I will eat the rest and eat salad as well. I made it to 198.03oz.. I hope I can make that 197 by Monday! Next week back to my salads and that's it!

How are u ladies?

Congrats baby! Keep up the good work!

Jojo381972 12-01-2012 05:43 AM

Hey gals!
What a great idea for this thread. I'm dying to get to 199 by NYE. I've put it off too long. I've been trying to work out five days a week for the past three weeks. I weighed in today and didn't lose anything this past week, but I ate more than usual and only went to the gym three times last week.

I commit to going to the gym five times this coming week and eating healthy.
I also started doing running/walking intervals on the treadmill. I do cardio and weights for those five days. Split routine in the weight room.

Hope everyone else is doing well..

I love spinach too! Congrats on making it to wonderland and you can make your mini goal!!:carrot:

jrkessle 12-02-2012 08:23 PM

@Fatness, you are doing another challenge that I am in - the "race to 30 - new year's challenge." how do you lose so much weight every week?!

Thanks so much. You ladies keep me going. I just made it o 197 today.. Feeling good.
I been bouncing around 198-199 most of the week.. It seems I always have more wight loss on the weekends.. I don't know what's up with that.
Today I went back to salads because I found it harder to lose wight once I changed my diet .

But I have a secret; I had some lime pie today and ladies it was so good! I will taste on this pie 2 days a week.. I want good food and its like I have to give up everything just to lose weight.

I am so jealous of you ladies who can eat meat and still lose wight.:(

My weight loss come from me being in the gym 2-4hrs 5 days week. I also cut meat out and eat only salad, tuna, boiled egg,and drink prune juice. The most I lose in a week is 3 pounds. This week I lost 2 pounds.. Going to do one more hr in the gym now.. Walk it out out. Good luck ladies

Also when I first started to lose weight, I only ate 500 calories a day and with working-out; I lost 6 pounds in one week. However, now I don't do that anymore. I eat 1650 a day.

katbslim 12-03-2012 09:16 AM

I didn't see this thread, I started a similar thread, but I'll abandon that one and join this one! Is there a way to close a thread?

I commit to no junk food, especially at night!!
Walking a half hour every day!

Happy Monday everyone! (If there is such a thing). I was out of town again this weekend and am finding it very hard to stick to my 5am Power 90 workout. The time of year is tough for me because there's so much going on and I'm never home.

I will get up tomorrow morning and get my workout out of the way. I'm not going to beat up on myself about the weekend because I was in New York and I did tons of walking around. That's got to count for something!

Fatness 12-03-2012 07:16 PM

Sorry for all my typos and giving you ladies a hard Read!

This darn iPad spells what it wants. Today was my Weigh-in and I lost 3 pounds. That last one hour walk on the treadmill really helped! [smile].
Six more pounds until my mini-goal:carrot::carrot::carrot:

190 here I comes:carrot:

Yes, HAPPY MONDAY LADIES! It's a NEW WEEK AND PUT THE PAST BEHIND YOU! We are going to lose at least one pound this week!

Agreed! The weight is just flying off! I was down two pounds this week so I'm happy about that. I really feel like Onederland is right there!

I'm going to the gym after work today so I can start my weight lifting. I really need to tone tone tone.
