Hi all!

starting to buy stuff at the store for thanksg. I am thinking about taking advantage of the great deals on turkey and cooking a breast this week--I love it and it is such a healthy source of protein.

I am like Tyla--staying on plan but no scale movement. but really noticing my stomach flatter and my clothes fitting better which feels really good!

Sno, congrats! Tyla & Lishar, nice to seeing you two hanging in there. I see everyone is mentally planning Eating Day!

'Bout to head to the store myself. I like to stock up now when there are so many deals, as well as buying for Next Week. However, I worked out and made sure I had something to eat so I don't overbuy. (We'll see if THAT works! Sometimes the strangest things end up in my shopping cart. :dunno: I'm like the poster child for that old advice of not going shopping while hungry! )

As for me, I'm continuing to count those cals. Felt a little under the weather today, so no exercise today.

ugh, im irritated. i was back to 185 this week and i have NO idea why. i was perfectly on plan. i know that it was my original thanksgiving goal but i had been hoping to get to 181... not gonna happen. i hate it when i gain for no reason i can understand.

Julia, it happens to me all the time, even when I've been strict. Did you go out to dinner? It's the salt.

I am not going to make my goal. I am getting frustrated and getting fed up a bit. I have lost my motivation to keep going. I am still staying on plan but I have no motivation to keep it up. I need to figure out how to get throught this slump.

Lishar, This is the hardest time of the year - FOOD everywhere; the shorter/darker days & colder/wetter weather make it hard to exercise, the busyness of the holidays leave less time, and throw in a cold or the flu for further complication. If you are staying on plan, I am impressed & salute you! So what if you didn't make your goal - think of where you'd been right now if you hadn't worked all fall!!

Thanks Mountain Momma. I am having a hard time this week. Not sure if its the weather or hormones. I am 43 so edging toward the bit M word. My moods have been all over the place. I will say I like Pissed off more than depressed :-). My family not so much.

I am not being tempted by food more like I don't have the motivation to log anymore. I am doing it but don't really care anymore. It would help if the scale moved a bit to enourage me. But that is not how things work.

Hi all and happy turkey week!


well I have been major strict following my plan and so far no movement. 1 lb so far this week is good.

I have had some of the same moments as Lishar--just getting fed up with how Hard this is!! when you start it is much easier more results and novelty. but now the nitty gritty of incremental loss kicks in when every little thing you do prevents weight loss. arggh!@

I think also that the darker colder days make me crave more carbs and comfort food and make me lose more slowly.

but of course what is the alternative? I could eat like I was eating last year at this time and I could gain back all 29 lbs I lost in no time flat. and be twice as miserable as I am now.

so I have to deal with the frustration and just keep hacking away at the incremental loss and know that I am strengthening myself by sticking with the plan.

anyway hang in there everyone. it is happening!! we must acknowledge what we have done and accomplished.

Thanks Sno. I think last week I had a hormone storm. Depressed and angry. I had zero motivation and sat on my A@@ all weekend. I ate to plan but only because I had a sick kid and could not get out of the house to buy goodies.

The good news is I am down 1.5lbs even being a slug. Total loss so far 40lbs in almost 4 months. Its crazy when you take a break and still lose. Maybe I needed to take a break and give my knee time to heal.

I won't make my goal but I did make a good dent in it. 21.5lbs lost since starting this challenge is nothing to complain about. So I am going to focus on that instead of B&tching about not making my goal. We all know how many things can affect your how much you lose.

Hey Lish:

glad things are better--shoot, you did great!! sticking it out thru those types of emotional meltdowns are what maintenance will be about and it makes us stronger. great job on the 40 lbs--that has got to make a huge difference in how you look and feel!!

I dont know if I had a goal when I started this challenge--I would probably been at 2 lbs a week. so I checked i tout and I have lost 18 lbs since the beginning of this challenge. I have a few more days so maybe it will be a bit more. but that is really good. it helps to take a look at that.

Went to Pilates class today! Still trying to stay within my range. It's been 2 weeks now since I blew it. And that's a big deal for me!

Lishar, congats on your weight loss!

sounds like everyones making progress, im still NOT, lol.

im not officially weighing in again til the 30th cause im losing my mind, but i decided to do a "non official" weigh in on thursday morning just for the sake of this challenge. if im above 185 i might strangle someone.

Lishar - great news on the recent 1.5 lbs, and wonderful about the 40! And in 4 months that is a pretty good clip. Sometimes goal-setting can be arbitrary - who knows what a body will decide to do; what's great is that you & Sno are 21.5 and 18 lbs ahead since we started!!!

Julia, you never know when a whoosh will hit. Besides, you've had a bad month with your mom's illness and all, take it easy! :hug:

Tyla, you continue to inspire with the Pilates!

I lost almost 6 lbs in the 1st two months, and have been trying to hold on to that. It's The Hard Season - I needed a place to come to to stay grounded, be accountable and you guys were great!!!
