  • sno - i typically find that 5 lbs/month is the most i can lose after the first few months. everyone is different but you'll get there!

ive been a bit absent lately because my mom has been quite ill. ive been back on plan so hopefully ill see some loss this week.

hope everyone else is doing well, we're getting down to the wire ladies!
  • Sno and Lishar, thank you for your support re: taking pilates. I'm taking my second class today and then on Wed.

    Lishar, congrats on your loss.

Sno, congrats on getting right back on track.
  • Lishar, congrats!!!

Sno, I remembered you said you were having company, that makes it SOOOOO hard.

Tyla, you're inspiring me to exercise!

Julia, so sorry to hear about your mother. Hope she is doing better.
  • I am down another pound today. I was not expecting that. Suprised and happy too.

Julia sorry to read about your mom. I hope she gets better quickly.
  • Tuesday!
    Hi all!

well back on track and have a ways to go to get my weight back where it was. this is a hard trek for sure. having company just screwed me up and then it is hard to get back on track. I gain so much more easily than lose. I feel some pressure to get this resolved tho cuz I was talking to one of my older friends and she struggles to lose just a pound--I know it gets harder as we get older.

tyla: great job on the pilates-I have to drive to get a class so I am not going to do it right now--maybe new year.

mama: yes yes yes--it is hard with company! or traveling! or holidays! sigh.

Julia: we are certainly thinking of you and hoping the best for your mom!!

Lishar: great job--you are really doing it!

    take care all!

  • Today is Line Dancing. This has got to be better than yesterday's killer Pilates.
  • thanks for the kind words of support!

guess what guys? i hit my thanksgiving goal of 185 today!

im not abandoning you guys just yet though (you dont get off that easy!)

i would love to be at 181 by thanksgiving which is VERY lofty, but im gonna do my best.

185 also puts me at 20 lbs lost and takes me out of the "obese" category. its a big day!

    Hi all!

feeling really committed and back on plan--feels really good.

today I was supposed to go to a luncheon with a set meal. I decided not to go because I feel that I need to have some days right on plan before I go tempting myself. Ive already paid but I dont care--my weight loss comes first.

Julia: so great!! I think you can make your new goal--thanksg is still 15 days away!

Tyla: ooh line dancing sounds fun--and that killer pilates will make you feel good!

    take care all!

    sno

lets all stay together and create a new challenge after this one ends--I hate to lose contact with you all!

  • Keep it up, everyone!! What I like about this challenge is that because it is not competitive we don't feel like dropping it if things aren't going well one day or one week. It's definitely a get-back-in-the-ring and fight some more motivator!!! Which is EXACTLY what is needed this time of the year!
  • I went out with my family to Red Robin last night. I ate a bit over my plan and my sodium was through the roof. Its hard to watch your sodium and eat out. So today I am up 3lbs. I have had 3 liter of water already and hope to get another 3 in today. Flush that water out. I really did enjoy my dinner but now have to deal with getting this weight off.

I agree we should have another group/challenge.
  • thanks sno! its my TOM as well so hopefully ill lose some more this week.

    good job everybody!
  • Juliastl, how is your mom doing?

Lishar, It's good that you didn't let the temporary water weight discourage you. Yeah, sodium is awful, restaurants really load up on it. I feel like a sponge when I'm around it.

    good luck, everyone!!!
  • Line dancing on Tuesday was fun. Pilates class yesterday wasn't as bad as Monday's, where I felt like throwing up. Anyway, I got thru them both.

Sno, thanks for coming up with this challenge!

Julia, congrats on your weight loss!
  • So glad everyone is liking this challenge--I think we are a good group and have developed some good support.

Yesterday was a good day all around--lotsa exercise, lotsa veggies and good on plan. My sodium was high too but I dont worry too much about that since I know water weight will come out.

we have two weeks till thanksgiving and I want to lose as much as possible before then and plan a nice thanksgivign dinner without too much food but enough to enjoy.

    cheers

  • Quote: Juliastl, how is your mom doing?
honestly, not great. shes having all these bizarre symptoms. she rubbed her eye one night and it turned black, then she started bruising all over. shes getting weird headaches/dizziness and now she fractured a rib for no apparent reason. no one seems to have any idea.

    thanks so much for asking.

    also, thank you tyla
