  • Good morning ladies. I am sorry I have not posted many personals lately. I have been busy with school. My girls have a lot going on and we are trying to get into a routine.

I think I may have broken my plateau. It was 10 days at about the same weight and I was getting a bit frustrated. I finally took a break last weekend. I have also relaxed a bit as far as my exercise goes. I have toned down my cardio. I am trying to increase my lifting to 3x a week. I am down almost 2lbs since Sunday which is big since I had been sitting at the same weight. I don't think I will make my goal for Thanksgiving but every little bit counts right.

One nice thing about my new scale is that is have a body fat measurement. I have gone from 43.9% to 42.6% since August 13th. I am glad to see it going in the right direction.

Julia welcome back to the journey. Congrats on your weight loss.

Tyla why are you dizzy? I Hope you are feeling better soon. I had vertigo yesterday and was not sure if I was going to be able to drive.

Fatness Welcome. My husband eats a lot too. I found serving my food on a salad plate helps with portion control. So the kids and I eat on salad plates and DH eats on a regular plate.

Mountain Momma- I hear you about legs. I am hoping with weight training that I will loose some of this cellulite. Congrats being so close to your goal weight.

Sno congrats on getting your vacation weight off.

mnemosyne- Ugh I love greek food. Baklava is evil its so good. Have fun and good luck.

Just remember ladies YOU ARE AMAZING. Never forget that.
  • Hi ladies! I hope it is not too late to join this thread... I really need some extra motivation to get to my goal by Thanksgiving. I'll be going away with my family and boyfriend for Thanksgiving and I want to look and feel my best so I will enjoy my time to the fullest!

I have been hovering from 168-171 for the past two weeks. I have been eating terribly, and I need to get it together! I'm hoping for 165 by Thanksgiving.

Lishar- Way to go! I know how incredibly frustrating plateaus can be. It seems like you are seeing results despite the scale not going down. BF% is an awesome way to track progress. Congratulations!

    Good luck ladies!
  • happy friday
    Hi all!

time flies huh! I have been so weird since I came back from vacation--very low energy and sleeping a lot. I think I might be dealing with allergies or a low level cold. feeling really tired when hiking--doing half of what I usually do. I keep thinking I will get better but I am not quite there yet. I guess I just need some rest!

almost down another pound--.2 pound to go--I kinda hate it in a way that the digital scales put down the increments. just keep track of the pounds, wouldja!!

Mirax: wow--you have really accomplished a lot losing all that weight and keeping it off. is it hard to transition into maintenance? like a regular way of eating that you feel comfy with and is easy to do? or are there some unusual temptations lately?

LIshar: great--we knew it would happen. sometimes it just goes in fits and starts. I forgot to ask--are you drinking water? I found that once I hit around 96 oz a day my weight came off more steadily. good job on the percentage--keep going!!

tyla: take care of yourself--I know antibiotics can knock me for a loop! and on top of what I am takign them for.

fatness: glad you could join us!

mama: i know the wages of being overweight do really change the body. it is hard to deal with in a way but so much better to be slim even if there is some bumpiness.

    cheers all!

    have a wonderful weekend.

  • Snowbrocade- Thank you! The reason I have been struggling to lose the last few is because my brain has already hit "maintenance mode". I am not gaining, but not losing either. I guess I shouldn't be complaining but I really want to officially hit maintenance! Now that I am so used to eating healthy, I think keeping the weight off will be easier. At least I hope so!

I know what you mean about those darned digital scales. If I see one more .9 on the end of my weight, I might throw the scale out of the window! Hope you feel better! Give your body the rest it needs and I'm sure you will bounce back in no time.
  • Love the comments about the digital scales! But better than the other kind, which can have a 5-10 lb bounce!

Tyla, hope you're feeling better. Don't worry about working out - if you're dizzy, you need to take care of yourself! Antibiotics - can't live with 'em, certainly can't live without 'em!

Wow, Mira, congrats on the weight lost. Your photo is so pretty, I thought you WERE at maintenance already.

Must not have been posting when Reyna & Fatness joined - so Welcome, a bit belatedly.

Lishar, great news on the % fat reduction.

I've taken the strength training advice & upped my weights. It was okay today at the gym but now several hours later, oooooooo. Where's the Advil? Pardon me while I go stagger over to my easy chair . . .

    Hi all!

down two today--getting closer to the goal one step at a time. too hot today to walk by the time I got up--my hubby was out very late playing a gig and I didnt get much sleep. he tries not to distub but it really doesnt work that well. feeling a little better. dog was bummed out with short walk today. going to be in the low hundreds to day. will have to do my walk tonight which I hate doing .

mira: yep sounds like you have hit a weight that is easy for you to stay at which may be the right one for you? after all it isnt about the numbers and you look great. maybe more focus on exercise now rather than low cal?

mam: great job on the weights! you will feel nice and strong in a week for sure. just dont overdo!
  • Sno, you're doing fantastic!!

So this is the last day of September! I'm so proud of all of us here. We're all trying and doing the best we can. Happy Sunday! Hugs to everyone.
  • MountainMamma- Thank you so much! You made my day. And good for you for increasing your weights. I know that nasty feeling after lifting heavy weights, but it will pay off. Keep it up!

Sno- Congrats on those 2 pds! Glad you are feeling better. It must be nice though, getting exercise outdoors (even in the heat!) I grew up in the mountains so I am not used to living in the city. I miss being outside without the smog!
You are right, my body is loving this weight. So much so that it doesn't want to budge! I'm taking in about 2,000 cals/day and hoping that I can burn about 3-400 a day through exercise until I reach goal.

Hope everyone has a great start to the week!
  • im having a rough weekend. somebody kick my butt right now!
  • Before I go on; I just want to say.. Thanks for the great Welcome ladies!

Yes I am late on the joining the challenge . lol

I feel good that other women understand where I am coming from and about my greedy husband! lol..

Well I am checking in with my weight and last time I spoke with you Beautiful Ladies I was weighing 229.11oz! I just got back from gym and did a weigh-in and I am now 226.8oz . It really feels good to lose 3 pounds.. measurements are now 41-37-50 and my arms are 14inches.

What scares me the most is; I might gain the weight back! Since I lost weight my period has come back to normal; which feels great. I been without a period for over 8 years! I still must get check for Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). I will let you ladies know the outcome of my test.

Best of luck to all and sorry for any misspelled words! smile
  • I've decided to start toning. I bought a Pilates DVD and have done it and weights for two days now. Went out to breakfast with a friend and only had scrambled eggs and coffee. No toast!
  • tuesday!
    Hi all:

wow i am stoked--another two lbs down--that makes four this week and it catches me up for my vacation week--yay!

still not feeling that great but managing a decent walk if not as long as usual.

tyla: I love pilates it makes my back feel great--I was taking a reallly good class and then I moved. maybe I will get a dvd.

fatness (fitness?): great job on the weight loss and thanks for filling us in. yeah the idea of gaining the weight back is scary. I lost 80 lbs 5 years ago and gained it all back. I realized this time that I have to make some changes in the way I eat--my big change is to give up half and half. I realized that I just need to stay away from caloric beverages. I started drinking black coffee which is really big for me. I cant believe I am doing it. and now I like it better. at first I hated it but now I feel like I can really taste the coffee better.

julia: sorry I didnt get your post till today--look we all have bad days. the most important thing is getting back on plan--focusing on the neg will just make us stuck. look at what happened to me--I was off plan for 5 days, gained 3 lbs, the first week after I lost the 3, the second week after I lost 4. so it can all be fixed~!!

    Mirax and Mountain

    have a great day

    sno
  • thanks sno. im currently back down to my lowest weight (this round of dieting anyway). my official weigh in is tomorrow so im not expecting much too change.

my goal is to stay on plan every day til next weigh in and see what happens. i need a loss soon, lol.
  • Sno, I think it's a great idea if you bought a Pilates DVD. I've done it for 3 days now and noticed a difference in my waist already. Feeling good about that. Ate within my range, too. Congrats on your weight loss!
  • well i lost about a pound and thats since my wednesday weigh in, so not bad! im going to try not to weigh again until next week because these numbers are messin with my head!
