August Weight Loss Challenge!
August already?? Yup, it starts on Monday, and with a good two months left before those long sleeves and long pants make their return, it's a great month to lose some more weight or to get started on your weight loss goals. All are welcome to join us, and we hope you will!
The rules of this thread are simple. We are here to provide each other some accountability along the path to weight loss. So, you just set your weight loss related goal(s) and it gets added to a goal list. When you reach your goal, it gets turned Red. We have a sister thread for exercise goals http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/chic...challenge.html, and all your exercise-related goals can be posted there. We love to hear about your success as well as your challenges throughout the month. We're here to support and encourage each other to be our best. So give us your weight loss goals for August, and let's start the month off right! |
July was a slow month for me, but I plan to be ramping back up in August as I should be allowed to exercise again around the middle of the month! :carrot: Starting from 196.2 lbs today, my goal for August is to get into the 180s - a number I can't even believe I'm typing! That should put me on track to hit 100 lbs lost by the end of September. :D

Hey, everyone! I haven't done one of these before (I had that one mid-July to mid-August, haha), but I'm glad to jump in! I'll update with my start weight and goal weight on Monday. ^^
EDIT: Start weight will be 148, and goal weight will be 139.3. |
I am in!
My starting weight is 165lbs, I want to end August at 156... that will mean that I have lost 10% of my weight since I started to live this new lifestyle. Hopefully I am not shooting too high.. but I figure a big goal will force me to work harder and stay focused during the tough moments. |
Unfortunately I didn't meet my goal for July, so I'll be working especially hard in August. I'm hoping to lose 11 pounds this month and get to 160.

Hi everyone! My goal is to get down to 175 by the end of August. I'm currently hovering between 181 and 183, so that'd be just 6-8 pounds. Totally doable, right? Right. :)

I'd like to jump in too! I haven't done a challenge in close to 3 years and the pounds have crept back on. I will post my official starting weight and plan of action Monday morning. I already know my goal will be 6lbs for the month.

hi! I keep going up and down with my weightloss speed, and I just came off of a very nice drop. So....August is probably going to blow. ;-)
I'm going to shoot for 6 pounds lost, putting me at 140. I do calorie counting and lots of different exercise, bu tmy fave right now is Zumba. |

I will have out-of-country friends coming to visit in August and there will be several social events involving food, so some accountability will be good for me! Currently I am at 293.4. My goal is to weigh 286 (10% off my starting weight) by August 31. That's 7.4 lbs. Cheers everyone.... we can do it!! :) |
Hi! New to this, but I'm jumping in :) I am setting a goal to be down 8 lbs in August...that will put me at 175...my pre-pregnancy weight. I just bought a Zumba DVD...looking forward to seeing what all the hype is about!

Hey I am gonna jump in here. My plan for august is to get to 249.9 (I just hit 259.9 today) If my trend of 10 lbs a month hols up I should get it *crosses her fingers* How is everyone else doing?

My goal is to follow the plan every single day in August. It starts tomorrow and I am pumped to go 4 weeks completely following the BFC plan. :carrot:

I am in! Ok, so July was a slow month for me (-4.6 lbs) and I am going on vacation on the 2nd of September so I am going to aim high. I was 192 today so I am going to set a goal for 182. That is 10 lbs which is going to be a lot of work but with the stakes high, I know I can do it!

Also new to this, but I definitely am on board for a challenge! I'm at 275.5 and would like to be at 265 by August 31st. I think it's more than do-able given the amount of weight I have to lose.
It's going to be somewhat tricky because I have jury duty for two more weeks, which has thrown my eating & work-out routine off-course. But hey, this is great real-life practice!! :) Good luck everybody! :D |

Okay, here we go!
My eating plan is to only eat out 3 times this month, using menu planning to help stay on track. This may not sound like a big deal but we eat out WAY too much. I'm going to watch my portions, make sure I get all my fruits and veggies and get 64ozs of water in. I will be exercising 5 days a week rotating between running/walk intervals, elliptical and strength training. For motivation I joined you (:D of course), wrote a list of my reasons for losing weight, and have a pic on the fridge. I hope these things help keep me focused. My SW: 166 GW: 159 goal: lose 7lbs I was originally going for 6 lbs but I think getting into the 150's would be super sweet so let's make it 7lbs. Good luck chicks! |

Howdy! I'd like to jump in too! I have been totally not paying attention to my body and eating like a piggy most of the summer and of course the scale is showing it. I am going to lose 7 lbs this month. I am going to work out 5 of 7 days each week. I've got some really cute jeans that I need to slim down for before the weather starts turning colder. I enjoy doing my Turbo Jam video, Hip Hop abs, and walking.

Count me in! I'm currently doing the 20 day challenge but that ends on August 13th so I want to jump in here for when that challenge is over.
I was doing really well, and got to 156 last week but I had a horrible weekend and I refuse to step on the scale for a few days because I know I gained some back, I can feel it. I'm going to consider 156 my start weight because I need to re-lose those pounds and will this week. SW: 156 GW: 143 I'm also starting the 30 day shred today with a friend but I'm also going to do the Brazil Butt Lift in the month of August. So my exercise goal is to complete both 30 day programs, as scheduled. When I complete both programs without skipping a day or cheating I'm going to feel really accomplished so I just have to keep that in mind! |
Hi Guys! I'm in as well. I go back to work in 3 weeks ( I'm a teacher) and I really need to get back into the groove. I went to the gym today and did step aerobics and lifted weights. I have some upcoming challenges though (a birthday, my anniversary, and going out of town the weekend with just the hubby- no kids woo hoo). So, I think I will shoot for 6 pounds, but if I lose more that would be most excellent.

I didn't plan on working out on the 1st, but I ended up doing a kick-*** run on the treadmill. 3 miles. That is a ton for me! So today is my day off. :) It feels like all I do now is workout, workout, and then try desperately to catch up on the few days off with housework, groceries, etc, etc.
Ugh...but at least I'm taking the kids to the pool this afternoon. :-) Keep it up everyone! August can be GREAT! |

I was gaining the past two days instead of losing, even though I did everything right. It was only a total of 0.4 pounds, but still annoying. But today I weighed in, and I'm down 0.8, to 147.2! Yay! Now let's home TOM doesn't kill me in the next few days... |

Woo hoo for what must have been water weight :) Down 2.6lbs in 2 days...strange that drinking MORE water makes me lose the water weight...kind of counter intuitive!

Good morning! Just checking in quick...
I did 40 min walk/run yesterday AM and 20 min walk in the PM. My eating has been more calories then it should be but healthy foods. I even roasted asparagus for the 1st time :D My goal for today is to get a workout in and be more careful with how much I'm consuming. Thanks Chickadee for making the list. Enjoy your vacation! Rat, the water helps me lose too. Big congrats on the 2.6lb loss!!!:carrot: I would LOVE to see that on my scale. Kaleidoscopic, YAY on the loss. Good luck with TOM, I'm just coming off mine. UGH!
