January Exercise Challenge
Everyone is welcome to post fitness and exercise goals for January 2011 here and then track them through the month. Track your workouts, your minutes, the times you take the steps instead of the elevators, anything that gets you moving more whether the goal is big or small.
State your goal in a post. I will add your goal to the goal list. When you reach your goal, it gets turned Red. We have a sister thread January Weight Loss Challenge for weight loss goals. Join in one thread or both! We'd love to have you with us. |
My goal for January is 1300 minutes.
I also have a goal of never repeating the same workout two days in a row. I think that repetitiveness contributed to my injury in December, so I'm aiming for more variety in January. I'll indicate that on my log with a * for each day that I did a different workout than the day before. |
Here are my goals:
Three days of arm/upper body strength training. I'll put * for each day I did it. Week one:** Week two: week three: Week four: Running twice a week~ Week one:** Week two: Week three: Week four: I already go on almost daily walks (even in the endless Seattle drizzle), so I'll keep doing that but am not going to put that down here. It's very routine and not going above and beyond for me. |
My exercise goals for January are:
Do at least 3 FIRM workouts each week (I just got TurboFire so I will also do that) Walk at least 2 times each week Week one: 1. FIRM Burn & Shape, 2. TurboFire, 3. FIRM TBTC Week two: 1. FIRM Express Cycle 1 Cardio 2. FIRM Cycle 1 Sculpt 3. TurboFire Fire 30 4. FIRM Cycle 1 C&S, 5. TurboFire HITT 15 6. FIRM Cardio Overdrive 7. TurboFire 45EZ 8. FIRM Cycle 1 Cardio & Week three: 1. FIRM Express C2 C&S 2. FIRM Express C2 Sculpt 3. FIRM C2 Cardio4. TurboFire HITT15Week four: WALKS DONE Week one1. Walked 3.25 miles 2. Walked 2 miles 3. Walked 2 miles Week two: 1. I'm going to do Chalean Extreme on schedule and 30 Day Shred on my off days or when I feel like I need an extra workout. Sometimes its nice to mix up a workout

Greetings! I really need to rev up my routine! I want to get back in the habit of exercising every day.

Hello!! I am away from 15 January (snowboarding, so there'll be no lack of exercise there!) but I'd love to set a challenge for weeks 1 and 2...
I'm going for 90 mins a day. I know it sounds excessive perhaps, but I'm going for a big push between now and my snowboarding holiday. Daily swim, plus Just Dance on the Wii (addictive!) and maybe a bit of JM30DShredding... dunno. let's mix it up!! Here we go!! X |

80 miles!
My goal is 80 miles in January...that's 20 miles a week! Running/walking/elliptical...hopefully in 4 miles 5 days a week!

I would like to participate as well and am in awe at all of your goals. I am going to aim for 1000 minutes of exercise. Given that I have not been exercising as of late, I think 1000 is a good place to start. Good luck all, and Happy New Year!
1/1/11 So far, 32 minutes this morning. 968 more to go. :) 1/2/11 Only got 24 minutes in before the little one woke up. Maybe I'll get more in later. Regardless, 924 minutes to go! (and mt new goal - not trying to do 3 hours on the last day of the challenge :) ) |

Thank you for the wonderful thread! What I am aiming for is min 10 mins daily exercise and between 8-12 times cardio (gym, swimming or jogging). I have to have an upper limit as I can do too much at once, then ache, be bored and do none till i get depressed due to lack of exercise and start again like a maniac, so looking for a balance. It would be great if this can be included somehow! Thank you! |
