Congratulations, Envelope! That's so exciting!
I'm having a great weekend, and not having too much trouble staying clean in my food choices. Usually weekends are horribly hard, but the battle this weekend has been easier to fight. I hope that is a positive trend for the future! Hope everyone has a nice weekend! My next weigh-in is Monday, I hope the scale reflects the hard work! |

:carrot:Yay SusieMartin! Way to go.:carrot:
I am back on plan today. I failed to plan this weekend, and I didn't do horrible, but I didn't do well either. And we all know where that gets us..... NOwhere. On a brighter note, I did get in a lot of activity, so it was not a total loss. Here is to a POP week. ;) |
big :cheer: to everyone making goals!!
Yesterday, I was able to slide on some awesome fur boots over my calves which previously would not fit :) so although I'm not sure about making it into a 16 just yet, I can tell I'm still losing |
I've eaten clean every day and, inspired by all of the awesome chickies meeting their goals this month, I worked out two days in a row now, to boot! Only 8 days left in August! I'm looking forward to September!
Congratulations Dcapulet on fitting into your boots! Great job! |
Great work everybody! Congrats on all the goals met! I'm going to start in on this one late and say 255 by the end of August. I'm at 259 right now so wish me luck!

OHHHHH getting back on track is ROUGH~ I am having all the naughty cravings. I am trying to drink water, and tea to get through. Hopefully This phase will be over soon. Mymichelle, looks like you mean business! Keep it up! SusieMartin-Hope you have a Great day too! dcapulet- Way to go! I love trying on things that you don't think will fit, then finding out whalaaa They DO fit! Very excited for you:D |
Hello all. I'm still working toward my goal but struggling a bit at the moment. My TOM should be coming any moment now and I'm all PMS-y, but I'm trying to stick to the plan. I haven't kept up with my workouts though, been too tired to do that and keep up with housework and other things I want to do (like practice on my new sewing machine! =D) but I am going to push myself back into gear.
My doctor appointment was today. I like the doctor a lot, I feel kind of silly over how nervous I was about the whole thing. He's testing me both for thyroid levels and for anemia. And if neither of those is my problem we will look a little deeper. Congrats to all those already at this months goal! I'm still holding out hope that once my period comes and goes I'll see 176 before the end of august (or at least right after). Oh, and tetanus shots hurt. Oww. |

Down another pound :) Planning for another OP day & a day outdoors. Hope your day is a good one! |
Good morning Ladies,
I was able to stay on plan yesterday, even though I struggled with it a bit. but this morning, Iam down a pound. If I can keep it up, i may be able to make my August goal. Thebunneh- I hate the PMS cravings battle each month. I seem to win some/lose some depending on the month. I do know If I can keep my water intake up, it seems to be easier. I will send some extra:dust: your way. On a brighter note....what is this about a new sewing Machine? I am a big lover of sewing/quilting. (I said I love it not that I am exactly great at it). Sewing season is coming up for me, usually I do a lot in the cold months. What kind of projects are youplanning? What kind of machine did you get? You will have SEW much fun! LOL, I know I am a dork.;) SusieMartin- Yay another pound off for you! Whatever it is you are doing, keep it up!! I hope you have a Fantastic on-plan day! |
LE - I got a Singer Simple portable model. It has 18 stitches. It was sale for $99 so we got it as an early birthday present for me! =D
I'm pretty new to sewing and have a lot to learn, but it is SEW much fun. lol. The first thing I made on a sewing machine (my MIL's machine) was a giant stuffed animal for a friend (he'd found the pattern online and reeaaally wanted it). I learned a valuable lesson from that project: seam allowance! But it turned out okay even with mistakes. Here's a picture http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...MG_0622333.jpg I want to learn how to alter my own clothing, and ultimately I want to get into doll making. But right now I plan to start with smaller projects like throw pillows and maybe an apron. |
LE: you deserve a giant cheer for making it through one of those "struggling" days! How nice to be rewarded with a loss on the scale the next day!
Bunneh: hang in there through the PMS-iness. It stinks! |
Check In Time
Yesterday was OP - planning for another today. Bunneh - I love to sew too! I make everything - from slipcovers to my own panties & bras :D Hope your day is a good one! |
Hey Chicklets, I'm back home and feeling great. My body has apparently given me the okay to stop counting my calories, go ahead and eat more carbs every day, including cake and cookies, and skip a day or two of exercise, because I'm at 154.6 this morning, down 1.6 pounds from last Thursday when I left town! Still 2.4 pounds from my August goal, but I'm happy because I thought I would have gained for sure.
I'm back on my schedule, and eating more mindfully, but I am considering not being so anal about my calorie counting (it makes me nuts and crabby, anyway). I am still probably 10 pounds from my final goal, so I don't want to sabotage myself, but I'm thinking it will be good practice for maintenance. LE: keep your eye on the prize, you're so close! Good for you for pushing through to get back on track. I'm struggling with carb cravings big time, and I find that protein helps satisfy that (and peanut butter, but I always want peanut butter). Susiemartin: you're doing great! You make your own bras? Really? I am definitely impressed. TheBunneh: I should get out the sewing machine and become more proficient with it. I would love to alter my clothes--I have some I love and am not ready to donate yet--especially the ones I never got to wear on my way down (well maybe for twenty minutes, before they were too big). I might have more time in the winter, and will hopefully have finished with my body alterations by then too! My Michelle: good work--we've got a great inspiration group here, I have to agree. dcapulet: I love boots. How exciting you get to wear some new this winter! 16s, here you come! Hope they don't fit for long, though! lol. mommy 1028: welcome and good luck! MsP: How'd the run go? Have a great day everyone? |
Another day of clean eating, yippee! Only 5 more days in August.
Tonight begins the weekend at our house. And weekends are always *hard*, so I'm battening down the hatches and getting ready for the crazy hurricane of food that is my husband's weekend style of eating. I've got my life vest on and and good solid plan for every meal, so I'm ready to face the deluge! LouisaH: How incredible to go on a trip and return lighter than when you left! Congratulations! |
LouisaH-Kinda bummed to report I'm still struggling with my knee. It's okay at first then about 4 miles in it starts to hurt and just gets worse slowly. I saw a PT ysterday and hope the exercises he gave me will help. My marathon is only 5 weeks away. I NEED to get in those high mileage days! Thanks for asking, btw. :)
I've been so busy with the getting ready for school stuff that I've hardly had time to be online at all. Food is okay, but not perfect. Exercise is touch and go with lower running miles and trying to make up some time doing walking or other exercise here and there. All in all, no complaints. Next month will be MUCH more focused and MUCH less chaotic, but I sure will miss the kids. School starts Sept. 1 here, so it'll be a new start for us all! ;) |

Down another pound :) August has been a good weight loss month for me...for some reason :?: Planning an OP day & an OP weekend. Hope yours is terrific! |
My TOM weight gain is gone (I'm assuming all of it) and I weighed 177.2 this morning. I still have a few days left to get to 176, and I'm sure gonna try!

Yesterday was OP -planning another today. Hope your day is great! |
It's Saturday, yay! Yesterday was OP for me, can't wait for my official Monday morning weigh-in. I've been peeking at the scale and I'm hoping to be three pounds down for the week.
Hope everyone has a great weekend! |
176.6 this morning! Yay! Reached my august goal! ^______^
|
TheBunneh-YAY on making your goal!
I've been so disconnected here and wanted to just say a big CONGRATULATIONS to all those who've made their goals this month. Today I'm thrilled to say I was able to run 12 miles; my longest run since injuring my knee 3 weeks ago. It's a huge blessing to feel like I'm on the road to recovery and should still be able to pull off my marathon in 5 weeks. The run wasn't without pain, but, by the grace of God, I found a certain stride that lessened the pain to a manageable point. Food has been getting better and will continue to be worked on. Always a work in progress... ;) |

Yesterday wasn't OP. Peanut butter & crackers again  My weight is up to 2.4lbs in just 12 hrs. Amazing what carbs & sodium will do to me! Today I'm planning for a 100% OP day. Hopefully the weight will go just as fast as it came. Hope your day is a good one! |
Well another failed month.
Set my goal at 10 lbs and only lost 5. I am working hard but my body just does not want to lose weight like it used to. I will adjust my goal with that in mind next month. Congratulations to all of those people who reached their goals. |
Today was weigh-in day and I lost 3.8 pounds this week. Yay! Clean eating sure workks for me! Looking forward to the September challenge!
|
Just need to lose a tenth of a pound to make my goal by the end of August! Gah! I lost weight so slow this month! (Partially because I needed to maintain one week for health reasons, but still!)
ETA: Just weighed, and got more than my tenth of a point -- I'm at 149.4! So, I made both goals this month! |
Hey ladies! August has not been stellar for me, but it's been all me. I'm glad to see my knee and legs showing improvement. I feel okay, but I know I'm "off" since I'm not making the right food choices. One day it's good, the next I decide to let things slide. It's turned into a REALLY bad habit. That's why I love new months to start fresh and set things straight. September will be a challenge, but I'm ready to correct some bad habits and re-establish some good ones. I've already planned the first week of supper meals, which I haven't been doing lately at all. 1 more day in August. Here's to not being a bonehead that 1 day! LOL

I'm praying that what I'm seeing is sodium causing water retention. I can't even type it, it's so bad. Hopefully the scales will be over their little hissy fit by the first.
MsP: Congrats on the run. I'm glad you were able to do it and hope the knee continues to improve before your marathon. fivestone: yay for you, that's great! The Bunneh: wahoo! I knew you could do it! My Michelle: color me jealous. I gained three pounds in a day. :?: PopcornGal: Another failed month for me, too. But at least we still have the downward trend going, so it's not too terrible! Susiemartin: my off plan day was so much worse than peanut butter and crackers. Okay, I said I couldn't type it, but now I'm ready. Saturday I ate a giant gyro lunch, which kept me stuffed until way past dinner time. I went out that night, got drunk, and ate dinner at 11p.m. I was up three pounds yesterday and another .6 today! I ate under my calories yesterday and today, exercised like a madwoman both days, and I'm drinking tons of water, so I'm hoping the month won't be a total wash. Two days ago I was 1.4 pounds away from making goal, and feeling great. Today, I'm 5 pounds away from making goal and feeling like a failure. I'm just getting lazy, and that really worries me! It seems to be getting worse the closer I get to my final goal. I wonder if there's a subconscious part of me that doesn't want to reach it. My biggest fear is that I'll never learn how to do maintenance. Wow, for not thinking I wanted to "talk" about it, I wrote a tome! I hope the remainder of everyone's month is on plan and happy! |
LouisaH: You're so close to goal, you are so NOT a failure. So you had a small setback. As you said, most of that is water. 1 setback does not erase the truth of all your hard work during the month, no matter what the scale says. This is probably an excellent lesson and experience for you to ponder and work through as you are so close to maintenance. How could you change your choices in the future? How could you avoid the situation or at least moderate it? Where there triggers you can avoid? Like you, I'll admit to being scared of maintenance, but we can do it! Stay focused, committed and determined, this is just a little blip in your awesome journey!
Today is the last day of August. I have my food all planned out, it will be a good one. If I eat totally clean today I'll meet my 12 day goal, yay! then, on to the challenge of September! |
I'm glad August is almost over. I weighed myself everyday and ended the month well :)

Wow, SusieMartin, that is impressive, I might try to record daily wt this month, because you can definately see a trend! Awesome job!
LouisaH-Let's blame it on the full moon....I did basically the same as you, It made no sense, but if we keep on trucking, we can be successes in the long run. besides, we have a new month just around the corner. New month=new beginning! how about it? Popcorngal-I think 5 pounds in a month is a success! just because you didn't reach your goal doesn't make it a total failure, at least you made progress! slow and steady wins the race. Keep at it. |
