August Weight Loss Challenge
Hi ladies, We are running late in August! We have to catch up! Hopefully you have your August weight loss goal ready and waiting for me. Good luck to us all.
The rules of this thread are simple. You set your "weight loss related" goal, it gets added to the list. When you reach this goal, it gets turned Red. We have a sister thread for "Exercise related goals" It is the "August exercise Challenge". We love to hear about your success, as well as your challenges throughout the month. |
Ok so I will start

This whole next month is going to be a big challenge in maintenance for me, and I'm not even ready to start maintenance! I think I'll set a smaller goal for the month of August. Start weight: 159.2. Goal: 7 pounds, to reach 152.2 |
My only goal this month is to make it to Onderland. I don't have very far to go (203.6 this morning), but I see so many people hit the wall when they get this close that I'm giving myself the whole month to get there.

My August goal is to lose 10 lbs. My starting weight is 196.

I'd like to join in, if that's okay!
My goal is to lose 5lbs (taking me out of the 170s!). It's not a huge amount to lose in a month, but I find my weight loss has been really slow, particularly the closer I get to my goal, so I'm setting something that I think I will find challenging, but manageable. |
My SW is 157.3. My goals are:
-Reach 155.5 (halfway point!) -Reach 149.9 (normal weight) |
Since I didn't meet last months goal I will continue it to this month. My August goal is to be at or below 190. I will add that I would like to start doing yoga at least four days per week. Good luck in August everyone!

Alright, I'm here finally. I've gone back and forth with myself over this month's goals. I hav updated my ticker as of today's weight. Obviously the birthday and anniversary celebrations coupled with a couple days at my parents' showing little to no restraint have cost me some progress. I have actually eaten my way back into the "overweight" category. So sad.
So, here I am to recommit to a more disciplined lifestyle. I've actually made some progress that is encouraging, so on to better things this month. My goals for August: 1. Track my food 2. Fit comfortably into my clothes |

lol. It took me a while to find this thread... but I'm here and hoping to make better progress this month. I think I put my goal at 215 lbs, decided I've been shooting too high....I wish I could say onederland...but not been moving well enough to get there as planned months ago. Anywho, here I am.
I'm on a fruit juice detox type thing right now, figuring I need a cleanout after this sudden gain I've seen....we will see if it matters (I chose fruit puree technically....with half servings of veggies and other stuff too). |
Hiya Chicklets, thankfully the weight I gained over the weekend is already starting to come back off. I weighed in at 158.4, down .8 from yesterday. I got in a good workout today and hope to see more loss tomorrow. Good luck everyone.
MsP: climb back on this wagon, lady. I'll give you a leg up and help you buckle your seat belt. Maybe you should put on your swimsuit so you remember why you worked so hard! lol. You know if you get back down to your low weight for this marathon it will be a lot easier for you (and on your body). You did it before, you can do it again! |

Down to 155.6 today! Earlier in the day it was 156.2 but crept down to 155. I'll take it!!
That means I'm 5.7 pounds away from being a normal weight. Nice to know that it could happen for me in the next couple of weeks! |
Checking in. Yesterday was okay, not great, but I can't really think of anything that was really bad either. Except I had a little too much at dinner, but I also skipped the frozen yogurt I'd planned to have. Lost track of calories though.
I'm sooooooo sore from exercising Sunday that I can barely walk (and trying to sit down gracefully is an adventure xD). I'm a little better than I was last night, hopefully as the day wears on it'll fade. I'm not sure what exercise I'm going to do today, I guess it depends on how I feel by this afternoon. |

LouisaH-Oh I wouldn't say I was off the wagon this time, just living life. Having my birthday and anniversary in close succession has it's pitfalls, ya know? Thanks for the leg up though. I'm down over a pound from yesterday. You know how it goes when it's most water weight. I'm totally planning to be at my low weight for the marathon. You're SO right about it being nicer to run at a lower weight.
Right now my main motivation to get back down to my goal range is fitting nicely into my clothes. It's amazing how much difference 10 pounds makes! I'm staying plenty busy and active, so it's really a matter of reigning in the food and I imagine that will become MUCH easier once the kids are in school. I have so many projects that will keep me occupied during the day and then I can just plan nice healthy suppers. Right now we are rarely all home for more than 1 meal a day which is VERY unusual for us and makes for quite the challenge diet-wise. Next Monday begins the schedule slow-down which I'm really looking forward to! We just wanted to soak in all the joys of summer while it lasts. Only a few more weeks before the kids are back in school and I'm going to miss them so much! |
I have to remove one of my goals.
I decided to try and "superwoman" the month of August, but it's going to lead to injury. With the couch to 5k, 6 day drive across the country, work/school deadlines, and monster walks at theme parks, I do not need to do the 30DS this month. I will do it occasionally, but only as supplement. I will pick it up again in September. Lewisempire - could you please remove 30DS (again) from my list of goals? Thanks :) |
Daily check in... up today, but guessing it's due to some serious ice cream overload late last night... So after my walk today and some good eating, I should see some better numbers either tomorrow or the following day.

Ooh, ooh, I'm in! (late!) By the end of August, I want to reach my freakin' goal weight! 120 lbs. I got down to 125 and bounced back to 128 in july, but I think this is doable.

Checking in. Day has gone good so far. Finished my workout and had dinner even before showering because I was so hungry (I NEVER do that xD). I was happy that dinner was a salad I'd already made and refrigerated. Now I'm gonna go shower, then make a trip to the library (to pay an overdue fine :o I feel terrible about it, my first ever :().

Evenin' all. I've had a good couple of days, but the scale isn't being as generous as I had hoped it would be. I'm working hard, working out, and eating well, even though I'm eating way, way, way more fruit than I should. But hey, it's melon season, peach season and the end of the blueberries, and believe it or not fresh figs. If I'm going to stuff myself until I feel a little ill, it's better with fruit than with many other options. Come winter, I don'etknow what I'll be eating, though we have been freezing lots of our corn, tomatoes and berries from the CSA pickups each week, so hopefully I won't have to resort to much non-local stuff. But winters are much more carb-o-licious than summers, so I'll take advantage while I can!
My back is killing me (did I mention it's melon season?) and making exercise difficult, but I'm not letting it stop me. I have to keep pushing hard to make progess--it seems to be getting harder each month.:whoo: A domani. |
