August Weight loss challenge
 
Let's see....

My goals for this month is:
drink at least 8 glasses of water
do some type of exercising every day
lose between 10-15 pounds
:carrot::carrot::carrot::carrot::carrot:

(that carrot reminds me of the little banana who does the "Peanut Butter Jelly Time" dance lol you should search it on youtube, it's hilarious)

Hey All!
Just checking in to say hi to everyone! Well... those that know me anyway. I'm still going strong, I just broke into the 160's today with 168.8 and it feels pretty awesome. The weight loss has slowed since i'm not actively trying to lose anymore but I'm thrilled that the trend is still down.
I'm currently training for a duathlon (5k run, 21 mile bike) that takes place in September and I completed my first 5k on July 3rd.... I'm sort of addicted to collecting those race tags now. Heh.
I hope everyone is doing well. Keep up the great work!
Oh, and stop by my blog if you ever want to hear me ramble about the random things on my mind!

Good day everyone...

I'm having a great day. DH has been sending me sweet texts all morning telling me how beautiful I am and stuff like that. He's such a gem!

We leave to go camping tomorrow so I'm making my meal plan today so I can stay on track.

Lewisempire: Sorry to hear about your grandmother. My thoughts are with your family.

Shrinking Girl: :congrat: on the 160's! I can't wait to get there! You're doing amazing and good luck with your duathlon.

Thank you for all your condolences. It means a lot to have great people like you ladies around me! Thanks for all the support and inspiration everyday!
I have been back on plan for 3 days so far, and it feels good to have healthy foods and calorie levels on board.

susuiemartin: Beautiful job on the coop! What a sense of accomplishment.

I'm poised for a total mess of a weekend. Beer festival in Madison. One of my favorite weekends of the year (for 18 years now! Holy crap, I'm not that old). I've prepared road food and some for Saturday, and hopefully I will hold firmly to my will power. Already it feels like a tenuous thread...wish me luck, everyone and have a great weekend!

Good morning ladies!

I was pleased at my HM weigh in this morning. Down 2.2lbs since Tuesday (which was bad because of last weekend's camping food mania!...LOL) down to 177.8lbs. If that keeps up I should be able to see the 160's by the end of the month! I really hope to, but either way I'm only a few pounds shy of weighing less than DH for the first time ever in our 19 year relationship! Wow!

I have all my food planned and packed, only a little concerned about the alcohol factor, but I can do it...I know I can. I'll take my runners and try to go for a run Sat/Sun mornings before everyone gets up.

Good evening! I've been busy with yard work and all the typical summer stuff...enjoying this last couple weeks with the kids before the school hijacks them from me! We've been really enjoying so many fun things, even just at home.
Anyway, tings are going well. I was probably a little high on calories the last few days. I've been working hard and the hunger level has been up, so I've eaten more to meet my body's demand. I'm reigning that in now though. I do actually want to drop a few more pounds this month!

Today's Weigh-in: 254.5 (-1.5 for August!)
Alrighty! Today's Plan:
Eat 1200 Calories (So far on plan!)
Burn 1/2 of those Calories (CHECK! - AND MORE!)
*I FINALLY WENT OVER 5 MINUTES ON THE ELLIPTICAL! I DID 7!*
*I UPPED MY SPEED ON WALKING AND UPPED MY LEVEL ON THE BIKE*
*WORKED PAST MY CARDIO AND INTO THE IRONWORKS ROOM!*
Drink 1/2 my weight in oz of water = 127.25 oz -roughly a gallon (HALF WAY THERE!)

I am going to do this!

Happy Monday to everyone! I worked this weekend, so I am soooooo glad that it is OVER!
I have updated the list, If I have missed anyone/anything, please let me know. Congrats to all those who are moving toward their August goal. Welcome all newcomers, BTW It is NEVER too late to start on this thread! (or re-start for that matter!)
My food choices were less than steller this weekend, Luckily, there was not much opportunity to eat. So I did manage a loss overall. YAY, I will take whatever I can get. MY official weigh in Is tomorrow. I can change my ticker then. I think I will go back to bed for a much needed nap.

week has been a bust. I had a rough couple of weeks but I am back
on track now.

I've been off track here for a few days. The injuries and activities of the past few days have got my mind kinda messed up. I lost focus. I'm feeling a little better now mentally...that is if my darling kids don't drive me insane with their arguing today!

I haven't posted here much - been meaning to, I just get sidetracked every time I start! Congrats to those who met their goals already. :carrot:

I weighed in at 177.8 this morning. Just a pound away from 176 goal, and so far I've been keeping up with my 5 workouts/wk, though I've been struggling with it and with calories.

I can NOT believe August is over halfway over. Geeeesh, is there like a vortex in my apartment sucking time away or something?? :dizzy:

I have a doctors appointment next week to get my thyroid checked and see if maybe that's why I'm so exhausted all the time. I was diagnosed with an under active thyroid when I was a kid but never medicated, then a couple years later I was retested and told levels were normal. But apparently you can test normal and still have a thyroid condition. Oddly, part of me is afraid that I don't have hypothyroidism because if I do at least it means there's hope to fix how bad I feel all the time. And the other part of me is just scared to see a doc for the first time since I was 14. :o

Weighed in today, ANd I am proud to say I am back on track 204.4. I will really have to get a move on to make onederland this month. I am really gonna focus on my Water intake.

SusieMartin- I just wanted to say Way to go. I know it must feel like you are just pluggin along, but 37 POUNDS???? OMG that is soooo awesome! I am really proud of you and your stick-to-itness! Keep up the great work!

Thebunneh-good luck at thedoctors, I will say a prayer for you. Let us know how it goes.

MsP- Hugs, girl!!!!!! Let's push through til the end of August. Maybe we should start our POP for 7 days thing again. Lord knows I could use a little friendly competition.

Hi Chicklets! I'm back from my weekend away--got sucked right into work and computer ****, and I'm coming up for a breath of air. I'm so tired and so behind that I don't even have time for personals. I didn't do so great over the weekend, but am actually down to a new low of 155.6, so I guess I didn't do too terribly!

I leave before the crack of dawn tomorrow morning for 6 days in Maine, where I have eat lobster and drink champagne, and maybe a dark & stormy every night. I know it sounds terrible, but I think I can make it through okay. Internet access is sparse, and I'll be frantically getting my work done when I have it, so I won't be checking in for a week, probably.

LE and MsP: If you do a little 7-day challenge, I'll be the decoy to help keep temptation from getting too close to you, since I'll be on vacation and indulging in off-plan activities. Although, I do intend to indulge like a thin person instead of the former out-of-control fat person I used to be!

Weighed 177.4 this morning, almost to Augusts goal! My TOM is due in a few days though, I'm kind of surprised I haven't seen a jump on the scale yet. Still bracing myself for it. I will NOT let myself freak over it.

eclipse - woo hoo!

so now that i am home, i put on a size 16 dress. still snug, but i have 16 days left. I was totally on plan with eating today, and did 30DS with actual weights and not bands - a WHOLE different experience. So hopefully, I can make it!

Checking in to say "hi" today. Things are going well. I'm going to try a 12 mile run tomorrow and see if my legs will cooperate. If not, I'll just do what I can and continue with the rehab to get my legs back to 100%.
Food has basically improved and I decided next month I'm setting an actual weight goal and getting my food planned out better. It should get a little easier with the kids in school and our daily schedule a little more consistant. I'm truly enjoying this last bit of summer, though. So, I'm not in a big rush for August to end!
