May Day Challenge
My husband and I want to start to TTC in May, my goal is to have lost all the baby weight I have put on from the first two pregnancies, before I get pregnant again, so that means going from 161 to 120. I have until May 1st to do this, so this is my May Day Challenge. I know its a long way off but, my motivation is getting to my end result.

Wow, nobody here???? Maybe it seems to far off??? I do have a May goal, though my dates are a little different. My end date would be May 27th. This challenge is for 23 weeks!!!! Join me if your up to it :d

Hello All this thread will probably increase when chicks realize that spring is approaching :) I'd like to join. Come spring I would like to be pretty close to goal. Ive fallen off the wagon a number of times. I would really like to stick it out and see where I end up in may. Thats five months to get myself together

Hi Matilda08, thanks for joining me. I thought I was going to be all alone in this one :). I agree after the first of the year and all of the NY resolutions, people will start posting.
I'm sure you'll do fine. Baby steps.....one foot in front of the other, at least thats what I do. Some days are better than others but you just keep on keeping on :d. And remember that May is the door way to summer :) |
THanks bigmomma! I always join challenges and never stick with them. Im going to really try to stick to this one and see what happens. I think my goal is really reasonable so we will see how it goes. Good luck!

Ok, I am in. The date falls the night before we leave for disney so this will be perfect.

Hey, I'll join you. My oldest graduates from high school this spring and I'd love to be 15-20 pounds lighter by graduation party time. My weigh-in days will be Mondays.

May Day is close enough to my goal day (April 30th), so I'll jump in! Ideally, I would like to lose about 2lbs. a week. 30ish pounds in four months isn't extreme, I don't think.

Hi all! I just ended my christmas challenge and was looking for a new one to start in order to stay on track. Will see if I can get back to my 4lb/week loss until the wedding in March, then a more realistic 2lb/week loss.

Oh I'm definitely in for this one! My end date will be May 13th, as I graduate college that day, and when I started this whole thing I gave myself that date as motivation, so hopefully this thread will keep that going!

I'd like to join you, too! I've been looking for a new challenge to take me through the spring semester (I'm a full time student) so May Day is exactly the right time frame for me. I'm not as organized as you all to make a goal for each week, but I aim to be at 150 by May Day. I'm a SLOW AND STEADY loser -- aiming at just about a 1/2 lb-1 lb a week. My real prize right now will be to get to 158, which will be 10% of my body weight loss from when I started this journey in the summer. I weigh in on Mondays. this has been a horrible week diet wise but oh well. Ive been doing well the past 2 days eating 2000 calories like my nutrionist told me. I am probably up a little in weight but about 4 or 5 days ago I was way up but its slowly coming back down thankfully. tomorrow is weigh in day for me

Ooh! This one sounds perfect for me! I am, ahem, older than most of you, and the weight comes off s l o w l y. May Day is 17 weeks from today. At 1 lb per week, I won't quite make goal, but who knows? Maybe I'll throw a few 1 1/2 lb weeks in there!:shrug:

Looks like everyone is moving along just fine :). No matter how great or small as long as we keep looking toward the goal and working on bettering ourselves, loving ourselves, thats what counts the most. Set backs are just speed bumps of life, go on over it and keep moving forward!

Congrats motivated and aiela! MB - what plan are you on? 6.2 in one week? impressive! This is one of those BAD postings...the kind of week you consider not posting at all, or fudging the numbers, or slinking away from the challenge entirely. But it's all about honesty with yourself, accountability, and owning one's mistakes, right? This morning - 166.6 - up 3.8(!) Was off on a ski weekend with friends this weekend. Ate and drank way too much, and obviously my afternoon cross-country skiing was not enough to undo the damage. But truth be told, I was really unfocused last week -- and realized I was making some bad choices totally not thinking about it. (Did I really need that gingerbread muffin?) For the record...a bunch of that has got to be salty food water weight AND I came home to also find that I had begun my TOM. A perfect storm! But remembering my lessons from TFL -- I'm just going to pick myself up, dust myself off, and get back on the wagon. Clearly I need to undo some damage and place myself under better scrutiny -- fitday.com until I reach my 10% goal (158). Thanks for the space for processing! Thanks Kim! I am just doing low cal and worked out extra hard last week. This week is more difficult...numbers just standing still because I have not been able to work out ONCE this week. It's really hard with 2 months til the wedding and getting all those details done, working long hours, and trying to fit in a work out everyday. Im exhausted.
