October Exercise Challenge
This feels funny, I've never started a thread before! But here are FSA's words of wisdom:
Hi ladies : ) Here is to a new month! To those of you who would like to join in....please feel free. All are welcome and we are here to post our minutes/goals to hold ourselves accountable and to help support and encourage one another. We all have various goals and different fitness levels, there is no wrong or right here whether it be 10 min. a day or walk 3x a week, etc. We tailor our workouts according to our own best individual needs. The girls here rock and are very supportive so if you should be just starting out don't hesitate . Exercise goals will be listed listed here, while weight loss goals, etc. will be listed in our sister thread, "OctoberWeight Loss Challenge". |

Okay...um...let's see... October Exercise Goals~ Start P90X (still trying to decide if I'm starting on the 1st or on Monday) Try not to keel over dead from the P90X--that would be an 'unofficial goal' ;) Keep on running at least 3 miles 3X/Wk HIIT 3X/Wk if P90X doesn't kill me :lol: I am really looking forward to changing up my workout! While my old ST'ing routine has definitely worked, I'm beyond bored with it. :) Here's to another fantastaic month ladies!!!!! |
Again, I've been thinking about my goals for this month and I really feel as though I have a sustainable exercise plan going on right now and so I'm going to keep it up with just one little difference.
Curves: 3x per week Abs: 2x per week w/ official video (bye bye half hearted situps!) And as for the change... I want to continue my running 3x per week but I want to increase my distance to 3 miles. I have an entire month to do it so here's hoping! |

I'm in - 3x per week jogging minimum, start the pushups program again and be on Week 3 Day 3 by the end of the month.

So glad to get to start over. I hated seeing my first week of September over and over! LOL So, here's the good stuff...
My October Goals: 1. 1800 minutes 2. Running 5X/wk (follow new 5K training program) 3. ST 2X/wk (continue and expand current program) I MAY add one more element, but I'm going to wait and see what works for me. My first idea was foiled (as mentioned in the Sept. Weight Loss thread), and I didn't have a back-up. It may take me a few days to find an acceptable alternative. ;) |

Since last month I aimed for 1200 mins and did over that, I'll aim for 1300 mins this month.

I'm going to run 3 times every week. I also have sessions with my PT twice a week, but I don't think that's a goal because they're booked in and stuff :) |
I'm going to up my minutes to 1000 this month!!!

ok ladies I am back up and running I didn't do an exercise goal last month, so I am going to make a commintment this month. I am not going to start out to strong and kill myself I just want to be able to say at the end of the month that I have a plan... Hope you all have a great day. Good luck! :)

One very specific goal. Repeat my September goal of 968 minutes and actually get them this time.

Hello Ladies! October is just around the corner so here are my goals for October:
Total minutes workout: 750 Crunches: 2000 Run 2x a week |
I didn't do the exercise one for September, but I'm gonna give it a go.
~ Strength Training at least 2x/week ~ Be able to jog for longer than 5 minutes ~ Aim for 275 minutes of exercise/week The jogging one might go away. I have bad exercise induced asthma, but it's getting better the more I'm doing walking/jogging intervals, so I'm hoping I can get my lungs trained. |
I'm in! I was looking for this thread yesterday - so happy it's here today. This is the first Exercise Challenge I have done. Here are my goals:
Workout 5x/week for a minimum of 1000 minutes Workouts will consist of strength and cardio videos and Start C25K - I've been saying "I'm going to start this!" for over a month now and never have, but now it's going to happen!! Please help keep me accountable - especially for the C25K! ~Amy |

On Amy's behalf...C25K is Couch-to-5K. It's a beginner running program that gets you from basically nothing to running 3 miles in 9 weeks. I've done it, as have several other ladies on here. We're all pretty big fans of it!

LOL, I started the thread and forgot to put my goals down. So this month I'm going to complete P90X Doubles, Training Block 2 and continue running three times a week with my 20K training program.

Since I went WAY overboard with my goal last month and had to revise it, I'm definitely going to be more realistic this month. So my goals are:
Exercise 1620 minutes total for monthand Start C25K. I did this last month but didn't stay consistent so this month I'm going for it again. Amy I'll help hold you accountable if you'll do the same for me! I could definitely use it! :D I can't wait for October! Let's do it! :carrot: |

As I've just joined a gorgeous new gym that opens tomorrow I'm very motivated for this. Here's my goal:
Minimum of 4x a week for 1000 minutes I'll be trying out new classes that will be gentle on my bad knee and hitting the cardio wave machine. I can't wait! |
hey girls this is my first fitness challenge too!! My goal is to run 6x a week for 30 mins, and 3 days of strenght training using weights. I have been jogging since july, but recently joined a group that goes 3 days a week it is very motivating and inspiring. good luck girls!!

My October goal is to exercise atleast 1 hour a day 5x week. Of these 5 days, I hope to complete 4 M-F.

Thanks ladies for replying. I am going to look into that. I was actually planning on doing a 5k this saturday but with being sick with the flu last week and still coughing I don't think it will be a good idea. But there is another one in November that I want to do and that would obviously help get me ready for that as I have not done any running recently. So maybe that will be added in this month!

Starting out slow with my first real exercise goal:
3 CD's of walking on my treadmill a week! By that i mean ill pick some of my favorite CD's, one for each of the three days ill be walking a week. I'll end up walking to 12 different CD's. If I'm going to be motivated to exercise, I can't think of a better thing to incorporate then music :). |

Okay...I'm new to this, but think the exercise challenge is an excellent motivational tool...so I have been walking two miles a day for the past three weeks...
My October goals are: 1. Walk 3 miles x 3 days per week 2. Indoor exercise x 2 days per week I certainly need the accountability...thanks everyone!!! |

Hello ladies! I have to tell you these challenges are soooo motivating for me!
Last month I totally smashed my goal! But, I'm not sure if that was a bit of a fluke because I went to Belgium and was more or less forced to do a lot of walking lol. :) So, I'm going to set the same goal as last month for this month. If I go over again, I'll know that my November goal needs to be upped! So, my goal for October is 1600 minutes of exercise! Yay! It's October!! My favorite month! :) |
