AJ-congrats on losing 10%, thats great. I am trying not to push myself too much. Rested a lot today.

Staccie-try not to get too stressed before your vacation. You will get done what needs to be done.

Dance-ew 2 am. I never wake up super early unless I absolutely have to. Snow, I am not looking forward to that.

Lindy-yea I think its the flu, had a fever yesterday and today a little too. Trying to drink a lot and ward it off. Are you doing the 30ds??

Been laying on the couch all day. Today is day 30 of 30ds. I havent done it yet but I will. I have been laying on the couch all day with the dogs. They wont leave my side. I am feeling a little better now. I ate something and drank some gatorade. The scale said 205 this morning but I am sure I will gain some of it back when I start eating more regularly. It would be nice to keep it off. We'll see.

Rayne- I am glad you have your little nurses. I have two little fuzzy nurses too that take care of me daily.

Well I am having a off plan day but in calorie day. I have eaten oatmeal and lean cuisine. I have almost no food other than dry food in the house and Davey has the car. Why oh why did we only bring 1 car??? lol. I think I am going to get out of the house so that the box of mac n' cheese doesn't accidentally fall into my mouth... ha. Hope all is well with you all!!!

Brown Eyed Staccie 10-21-2009 08:51 PM

I am sitting in a training exercise right now - well have been all day and will be tomorrow too - with a whole bunch of policeman - in uniform, oh and there are also paramedics, firefighters and guys in swat gear...my tongue has been hanging out all day...

I'm very stressed with work as I am very behind and I can't seem to prioritize anything. So frustrating...

I ate bad today too - I had a piece of apple spice cake and some chips...bad!

I can't exercise until tomorrow night because of this training exercise but it doesn't mean I have to give up my good eating.

Will be back later as I want to comment, I have seen some great notes on here today!

30 days of 30ds done!!!! I stuck it out even being sick. Glad it is done though. I was getting pretty bored with it. I still plan on doing it some just not as often.

ajowens 10-21-2009 11:44 PM

RAYNE-!!! YAY. You are amazing. Like a fitness goddess! Now get some rest =)

I had a bad day. Food wasn't great but wasn't really awful. I went shopping so tomorrow will be a good day. I have an interview in the AM. Hope I wake up... sleep has been an issue. Night Ladies!

luckylindy 10-22-2009 08:50 AM

BURGUNDY - CONGRATULATIONS!!! That is amazing girl! I am soooooo proud of you! Speaking from someone who attempted the 30 days unsuccessful, you are a true inspiration. In answer to your question, I started 30DS on Tuesday and already skipped yesterday. :( Right now I am getting lazy and frustrated with my weight loss so Im taking baby steps to try to get me back in the zone. I even stopped exercising as much, I regressed to 3 days a week.

AJ- good luck with your job interview. What is the job exactly for? As far as your off day, counter balance chickadee with some exercise, even if its a light walk. The whole success to weight loss is calories in vs. calories out. You consume more, you burn more---you got this in the bag.

Stacie- ohhhh, Im so jealous of you and your training, lol. We have to do a wellness screening every year as a government employee and I remember the day that I went was the same day the local fire department came, wow oh wow, I was in aw, lol. I LOVE a man in a uniform, dont ask me why, because I know its silly. But seeing a police officer, firefighter, yes...even paramedic, is just <drooling>, haha. My instant attraction meter goes up 2 noches everytime, especially for fire fighters.

Dance- you pretty much answer your own question in regards to me. I dont really have much to add because I agree with everything and can I just say, I love your "general poll" questions, it gives us something more to talk about than just day to day stuff, so thanks. How are you doing these days? Do you think you will see a 2.5 pound loss this week?

So I skipped the gym again today, tisk-tisk, I know. I plan on doing my body works class tomorrow and I am going to attempt to go Sunday to at least put in 3 days a week at the gym. I am also keeping up with my daily runs so at least Im getting my cardio in. Aside from that, not too much else to report on.

burgundyrayne 10-22-2009 10:41 AM

AJ and Lindy-thank you girls!!!! I am proud of myself for sticking it out. There were plenty of times I didnt want to turn that dvd on but I did. I know if my sister didnt do it with me, I would have given up.

AJ-is your day going any better today? How did the interview go?
Lindy-at least you are getting your runs in, but dont get discouraged with your losses. You have lost so much and are gonna see it slow a little, just keep pushing forward and it will pay off.

Where is everyone else? We havent heard from Maddiesmom in like a week.

dancerindenver 10-22-2009 11:15 AM

Lindy - I think you are very wise to point out that the whole losing game is calories in smaller than calories out since we tend to get our heads full of 'shoulds' - I should do xyz type of exercise everyday or whatever when as long as we eat less than we're burning off we will gradually see losses. That's definitely been an issue for me in the past and what I saw as the failure to do things perfectly made me give up and stop trying. And to answer your question about hitting goal, as of yesterday I was down a pound for the week and am having no trouble sticking strictly to plan with eating and exercise so it may be doable. Haven't weighed myself today but will again tomorrow. I'm pretty sure I can get 2lbs of loss this week but will still shoot for that extra half :) Thanks for encouraging me!

burgundy - WOOHOO for 30 days of 30ds!!! You rock, girl! Isn't it amazing how having an exercise buddy makes you do things? My evening walk friends are that way - I often don't really feel like it but no way will I let them down.

AJ- Lots of luck with the interview! And good for you that you went out and got healthy food choices for today! That should make things a lot easier.

Staccie - what fun eye candy for you! I've always had a weakness for pilots' uniforms particularly. I don't know if you guys feel this way, but isn't it weird that men look so spectacular in uniforms (it gives them more presence, authority, great shoulders, etc.) but in general (I'm sure there are exceptions) women not so much. At least that's what I've always thought.

I'm all caught up on sleep (didn't even set an alarm today) after yesterday's wake up at 2am craziness. There's still some snow on the ground so I probably won't venture out on a run until things have melted a bit.

Thanks, girls, for keeping me focused on my goals and for inspiring me everyday!

luckylindy 10-22-2009 11:54 AM

Dance - your just as helpful in keeping me on target, ****...you helped with my intervention a month back when I really fell off the wagon. Anyway, I cannot believe it is snowing, thats insane. I ran in my shorts and tank top this morning, lol. Are you available to grab the dinner the week you are here? Or just something quick like drinks or a coffee? Maybe breakfast? Anyway...just trying to get a feel for your schedule.

I just had a snack pack of mixed nuts, raisins and some M&M's; it gave me a good protein, fiber and sweet reload and Im feeling good. I also donated blood today, so I had to add in my blood mobile snack which was really bad but technically my breakfast, lol---2 cranberry juices and a Auntie Annes Chocolate Chip Cookie, not good at all, but at least it was included in my calories. Ill touch base later.

dancerindenver 10-22-2009 12:10 PM

Lindy - I arrive in Orlando on the evening of Mon 11/9 and head back the afternoon of Thurs 11/12 but I'm flexible for breakfast, drinks/coffee or dinner on the Tues and Weds and would love to meet Gabby too if she's available. I'll be visiting properties with a fairly flexible schedule during the day so if your office is on the north side of town, I might even be able to meet up for lunch.

Ok - gotta go focus on boring work stuff for a while. Will check in with you guys later. This group is being so amazingly successful at something most people are not - anyone feel like sharing why they're making it happen this time? (I'm assuming, perhaps incorrectly, that most of us have tried weight loss before and didn't stick to it for whatever reason). I think for me I just hit a wall where I was tired of disliking myself so much and wanted to get back to feeling good about myself again.

luckylindy 10-22-2009 01:30 PM

Ok so for lunch today I did a chef salad with ham, cheese and cucumbers, along with Thousand Island Dressing, it was actually a left over salad my grandma made so I didnt have a choice in the matter as to what dressing I had, lol. It doesnt matter though, its better than a big mac or what not. I brought a peach and fiber one bar for my afternoon snack at 330, yes---Im trying to get back on track with my 4-5 meals a day and eating a little healthier because I started staring away; so for the time being, you might see posts where I babble on about my food consumption, sorry. In regards to Dances question, the ice breaker for me starting a diet again was because I saw pics of how fat I looked and was completely disgusted. Keeping me on track is another reason, Im on the market again, I mean...I hate to say it like that but its true and I need to rope them in, lol. So...thats my motivation to keep with it. I in general feel better too and dont get nearly as sick as I used to, oh---and did I mention I NEVER get winded when I do the stairs anymore, thats always nice.

Dance - let me look at my calendar and see what I have going those days, its great that you have so much flexibility. Im in Southeast Orlando so its completely opposite to where you are going to be but thats ok, Ill just come to you, just more likely for dinner and yeah, I would totally like to bring Gabriella, although you should be warned, she is quite the chatterbox, lol. You'll love her though.

Ok, got to get some work done. Ill check in later.

ajowens 10-22-2009 03:18 PM

Interview went really well. I was so nervous I didn't eat so now I am starving. Oatmeal is cooking. The position is for office manager in a pain management center. My degree is in Graphic/Web design but my experience is in team management in marketing and advertising. Also PR. I would take almost anything at this point because I am SO bored! I can't wait to maybe move back to LA because I worked in post production film financing for a few years and I miss that the most!!

Staccie- I want to meet you. I haven't figured out how yet but I will make it happen. =) You are so fun. I can't imagine for one second that co-worker that doesn't get along with you! She must be a total betch.

Lindy- Good for you getting back on. It is really hard when your motivation is fizzling out. I KNOW! It comes back.

Dance- I will have to think about that a little bit. I am not sure why this time is different other than you girls...

I will check in later. Sorry if I missed someone!

dancerindenver 10-22-2009 05:32 PM

AJ -oooh - love the new avatar - your face looks SOOOO slim! We'll be keeping our collective fingers crossed about the job opportunity!

Lindy - babble away! We all go through times when we need to be held accountable more or just need that extra bit of push you get from sharing exactly what you're doing. It's interesting that you mention feeling healthier as I don't think I get headaches or tummyaches really any more and haven't caught a cold since I started. I wonder if being lighter is easier on your immune system or something.

I've been super lazy today - need to get crazy productive workwise then I'm meeting up with a high school buddy after work.

ETA - how weird is it that I'm dying to lose another pound so that I can add another dancing carrot??!!??

ajowens 10-22-2009 06:15 PM

I GOT THE JOB!!!! So excited. I start tomorrow AM so no more being bored. And no more living on our savings!! Oh it feels so good. And scary at the same time. Oh wow. SO the girls that were there interviewing with me were SO pretty and skinny and young and I just kept thinking.... please be a man that wants something more than a pretty woman to run his office! YES!!!! Now.... shopping!! =)

dancerindenver 10-22-2009 06:34 PM

AJ - woohoo! congrats! Tell us how it goes tomorrow...
