  • Sandye- wow you did amazing this month. Congrats on reaching your goal. It must be one of the best feelings in the world.

LTTG- Congrats on reaching a new decade. I knew your hardwork would pay off.

tummy- OMG 15 lbs in a month! You are a rockstar.

MsP- Yay for going BELOW your goal. And you are so close to goal, you will be there before you know it.

jessicado- Bummer about your TOM. I hope he disappears soon and takes those pesky 4lbs with him.

Sorry I haven't gotten to everyone. I'm so behind now, but I will try and keep chugging out those personals. So today is day 3 of the SB diet for me. As of Monday morning I am down 5 lbs. That is freaking crazy! I am below the weight that I was on the day I left for Seattle. So I guess its not a realy 5lbs since I did gain a few on vacay, but usually it takes about a week for me to lose 5lbs of vacation weight, so its better than usual. The thing with South Beach I have realized by reading different people's experiences is that the first few days are hard because you don't know how much to eat. I think I am slowly realizing now what my intake should be to make up for things that I can't eat for the time being. I miss eating my starchy carbs like brown rice/pasta/bread, but I figure that in about 11 days I can start slowly adding them back in.
  • Ok, time to check in for the month. My goal was to lose 8 pounds and get to 171.5 by today. I reached that goal on the 25th (Friday) and when I weighed in today to get a total for the month I'm in at 169.5. That puts me at 11 pounds lost this month!! It also puts me at a half a pound away from being overweight and no longer obese!

I was very worried about this month with birthdays and stress but I'm very happy with the outcome. Thanks everyone who gave me support and thanks for this challenge, I really enjoyed it and am looking forward to joining Octobers!

So to sum it up 8 pound GOAL MET!!!
Total lost in September 11 pounds!!

Your past the first biggest hump, it starts feeling easier after the first 2-3 days. ruth, ty girl : ) keep on trucking...we start our fresh new month tomorrow.

As for me......things went well at the hospital yesterday. THe nurses and staff flipped when they saw my dad . THey all love him and were saying how nice it is to see patients after they leave and recover. Daddy was so happy.......: ). Mom was okay this round too. There were quite a few people we didn't get to see as a few had left, some were out that day and some were on different shifts. We did still see a lot of people.

I felt a little tired when we got home, not sure why. THe evening was tiring....DH on phone for a couple hours with one of sisters (who is upset as well). It's just a little emotionally draining........god I was so tired after. ANyhow.......we will see what happens. THis process is going to take a while so we are going to need to be able to turn it off when need be.

NOt much else new chicks....the assessors are coming saturday morning. I have until then to clear some stuff and clean....ay ay ay! lol : ) You all brightened my day . I came in and read about all of your goals and successes and it brought a big smile to my face. YOu keep on shining chickiesssssss and congrats once again! ty also for the kind words. Sandye....I think your darn right girl! lol : ) chat soon

Those of you who may be close...don't forget you still have until tomorrow morning (loss can be used on this month or rolled over to Oct.). I will be checking the boards.... talk soon, have a great day girls
  • MeowMix-Excellent loss for the month! Holy Cow! You really did a great job. Look forward to seeing you over in the October thread.

Tummy-Oh My Gosh!! 14 pounds this month?! WOW!!! I guess I wasn't keeping track, but you were posting losses like everyday, so it makes sense. That's incredible! Seriously, so proud of your hard work and dedication to eating right and exercising. Keep up the good work! You're gonna be to your ultimate goal in no time too!!!

FSA-Glad the hospital visit went well. Now, don't let yourself get worn down, hon. You take care and get the rest, nutrition, etc you need to stay healthy, you hear? Catch ya in Ocotber!

Shasha-Great job getting back to pre-vaca weight! South Beach is very sound nutritionally and you will definitely figure out your portions as you go. It will be VERY nice when you can add back in the "good carbs" and have that balance in a couple weeks. Take care and see ya in Ocotber!
  • Afternoon girls!!

Cle~ gotcha! Henceforth I shall call you Cle!!

And see, I knew I wasn't congratulating you for nothin'! You DID it!! That's awesome!! And brrr! Great job braving the cold!! It was in the 50's yesterday and I was chilly and all I could think about was, what am I going to do when it starts to snow? I think I'll be heading inside.

    Nella
~ Thanks so much! Let's hear it for smaller jeans and bras!!! Woo hoo! Congrats on making your goal this month! Here's to another great month ahead!

Nello~ thanks hun! I'll try to enjoy it, but first I need to not be so afraid of it!

Tummy~ You think that basement is messy?!? Good gravy--you don't want to see mine!!! It would scare you straight out of your mind!!! Thanks for the pics, my beam is metal, but it's basically set up like yours. If I can pad it somehow I think I'll be good and not be blowing through tubes every week! Thanks again for typing out the rotation for me, you're the best! Now, 14 POUNDS!!!! That is crazy awesome!!! You were absolutely scorching hot this month!!! Glad to hear the test was neg, I can imagine it would have been a little stressful given your circumstances. Hopefully after your dr's appt you'll get answers to your questions! And I don't mind telling you, I'll be crazy excited when I hear the news your are pg! Sorry I made you cry and thanks for all the sweet words hun!

    dcapulet
~ Hey hun! Don't forget to come back by tonight and post your loss for the month!!! See you over on the Oct. thread!!

Shasha~ Thanks girlie! Glad you won't have to do without your faves for long--that would be super hard! Congrats on the 5 lbs gone! That is crazy!

Meowmix~ Congrats on making your goal hun! Great job!!

FSA~ thanks so much hun! I owe it all to you and these wonderful girls! If you had never started this thread...who knows where I would have ended up? Perhaps thrown from wagon laying in a ditch filled with cupcakes and ice cream... Glad to hear everything went well yesterday! Sorry you were so tired last night--it's no fun to be emotionally drained like that. I do hope everything sorts itself out for the best.

Well ladies, not much new to report from this morning . Finally got all my workouts in so I can call my Sept. Exercise Goals "MET"! I took all the girls' old Winter clothes to a resale shop, got a whoppin' $32 for a handful of things, spent $26 so I didn't come out too ahead on the deal. However, now all of those clothes are in my car and ready to be given away. I'm not going to try to make a single cent off of them--I just want them gone!

Kind of floating around in a haze today...kind of freaking out about how I'm going to maintain this loss and how many calories I should eat, should I keep doing HIIT and running 3 miles a day...??? Also, I'm counting down the days until hubby says, "now that you've reached your goal--can we go out to eat somewhere GOOD?" That guy, he slays me!

Anyway, just checking in. Hope everyone is having a great day!!!
  • Afternoon Ladies,

Had a minute before workout #2 to come check in...

Dcapulet - Hi there, glad you're still checking in

Shasha - Awesome dropping that extra from the weekend and it's only Wednesday! Sounds like you're getting the hang of it and it's only day 3!

FSA - So glad your hospital trip went well, that would be really nice to see everyone again, and especially for all the nurses and things to see your dad, that's great. Hope you're taking good care of yourself during all the emotional stress too, you first then you can take care of everyone else And thanks for the nice thoughts.

Ms P - Ya I was kinda shocked a bit too, it was a huge surprise this morning. So now that's Sandye's there, I guess it's your turn and then Delphi and I won't be far behind!

Sandye - Oh it was a good cry, no worries. It's amazing how much you care and when you read that it just warms your heart. I mean when did you start, March, April? I mean did you ever think that you would be not only at a healthy weight but in great shape 7 months later? WTG, Delphi's gonna be pissed she missed it, maybe send her a note on FB, lol. I'm glad the basement works, I found it plenty hard the way it's set up. Oh that's the "clean" part of my basement, where dd can play and I have my p90x area, hence the multicoloured floor mat (for plyometrics) and all the weights. To the right of that picture is utter destruction. And you're very welcome, have you decided what rotation to do?
  • Tummy~ I actually got here at the end of April and the May Challenge was my first one. I was already a bit into my journey having lost about 12 or so at that point, but the challenges really lit a fire under my butt for sure! Getting to your question though--NO WAY! I never in a million years thought I'd make it to 135--that's why I set my first goal at 150! Looking back I was 200 lbs in March--so I've lost over 65 lbs...that boggles my mind! I mean, I've lost that much before, but not all at one time! LOL And I know I sound like a broken record, but it's all because of everyone in this group. As for the rotation--I'm going for the classic one, I'm guessing it's the easier of the two right? And I don't want to get overwhelmed and give up on it, kwim? I still need to watch the instructional dvd, heck, I still need a place to do it! Looks like I'm going to be busy for the next couple of days/nights huh?
  • This was my first challenge. My weight loss has been super slow so I was aiming for 4 lbs, which would put me at 175.anything. I weighed in today at 175.4!! I made my goal!
  • Quote: Afternoon girls!!

Cle~ gotcha! Henceforth I shall call you Cle!!

Anyway, just checking in. Hope everyone is having a great day!!!
    lol you got it!

Ladies! Ya'll are kicking some serious butt!!!! I'm so happy to be a part of such an active group of women losing actual weight!!! Keep it up! It's so encouraging to read these posts! <--- I love that smiley lol
  • Hey Ladies,

Tummy Girl, I must agree with Sandye on this one. I just can't throw out 'good' food. My mother would also murder me. Growing up, she's 5'8'' and she's always been about 120 and ate whatever she wanted! The last 5 years or so, she's 36 she's gained wait, but she's still at what is considered a healthy weight. So, I think I'm going to have to go through the food and possibly ask her to put her goodies in her food. That probably won't happen, but today (last night she bought these to die for cookies) and I've only had two. I haven't been completely OP, but that's why I'm here! If anything, If I plan and measure out my food (I'll probably start calorie counting) I think that will help me keep everything in my body healthy.

I must say, Sandye every time I have a low point and post on here, you know just what to say. Actually, everyone does, but I think it's the passion I'm picking up on in your posts. Thank you.

Ahahahaha, Late to the game, that's why I would always say my soda habit and not coke.

All righty, well. I have a funny, nonwieght loss related story. I had my first speech yesterday, in Public Speaking. I was introducing someone I met, though he was an aquiantence for years. I was so practically shaking and I must say. I got the must 'audience feedback,' like laughing and such. And I was feeling good after that, aside from becoming exhausted and a headache after the adrenaline rush. But, yeah. This morning I woke up with a really sore throat that won't go away. I was like, greeeaaattt. -.- I blame the weather. It got real cold real fast.

Goal wise, I didn't make my weight loss goal of 10 pounds, only 5, but I have officially stopped my soda drinking addiction. And, probably because I'm getting sick, have been downing water all day long. Actually, more like all week long.

I think with measuring/planning out my meals and snacks that I will begin to really loose. I haven't been eating OP, but I have been keeping up with working out. I am glad that I will be at a wedding (at sunset) for my friend on Halloween. And yes, we are to wear costumes. That means, passing out the candy isn't my duty!

Well ladies, I wish I had more of an update, but it is freeezzziiinnnggg in my computer room and I have to get to reading for class where there is a heater and blanket.

I Can't Wait For Another Month Ladies. <3
