Hi girls,

So its after 4am and I'm still up, what's wrong with me?! I've been doing this lately trying to get things done then I don't get out of bed until 10 or 11am. I've got to get out of this groove, school starts Monday.

Well the scale was down some more and I've met my minimum goal of 3lbs for August. I hope to lose more before the month is ended, I will need some major will power Friday-Sunday.

Well its for sure now that we are going on vacation, so I have something to work towards. I want to be in the 160s by the time we leave which will be in the middle of Sept. I would like to do some exercising while we are there but I know we will be doing tons of walking so I probably won't have to.
Lewis Do you have any suggestions of things that we should definitely do or places we should go while we're in Gatlinburg? There is so much there that I know we won't be able to do everything, we are only going to be there for 3-4 days.

I've been in my daughters future bedroom for the last few hours prepping it for painting. I can't believe how easily tape can pull paint off and even the drywall paper. I told my kids, no more taping stuff to the walls.

Well guess I'll finally go to bed, catch you chicks later!

Jacque9999 08-27-2009 07:07 AM

I know I have been MIA for a bit....been busy here!!! Yesterday I tried something new...SPINNING!!! The girl next to me, a friend that I went with, said we have only been at it for 15 minutes!!! Thought for sure I would die before the hour was up!!! But I made it and think I will try to do it once a week. It is at a different gym then the one I belong to so I would officially have 3 different places I workout at. Pilates studio, PF and the new one....who is this person I have become?;);););););)

Hope everyone is doing GREAT!!! Have a glorious day!!!
:carrot:

Good Morning Ladies

Jacque
~ You have become a powerhouse of strength and endurance...revel in it my dear.

Ruth ~ Oh my gosh, I love Gatlinburg. Used to go twice a year. It's just so beautiful up there and lots to do, see and buy.

shasha ~ Awe sweetie, I hope you get to feeling better soon

Nello ~ Oooooo getting ever so close. ;)

FSA ~ I'm actually looking forward to the cool down. You're right it's excellent walking weather. I'll just be glad when I can walk outside and actually breathe..it's just been so hot.

Piggy ~ So how was school?

Alright, I got up and squeezed in my first thirty minute cardio session and gonna squeeze in sixty minute session here shortly...just cause. TOM should be here today or tomorrow..I wish he would just come on already, so i can get back to actually seeing that movement. I'll try to check in later..you ladies have a great day and remember to smile! :)

iDream 08-27-2009 08:05 AM

Good morning girlies!! No time for personals this morning as I'm going to try to be a productive member of society today. ;) Shopping, cleaning, laundry, more room organizing and such--I don't know if TOM brought mock nesting urges or what, but when I get in a mood to get stuff done I just have to go with it before it passes, kwim?

TOM has me back up to 145 this morning, but I don't care. Poo on him! Did my C25K run today and this time I did push it just a little more in that last minute--thanks SG, you inspired me to really just go for it! :)

Hope everyone has a fantastic day! I'll be back later to do personals and such so don't get all uber chatty and post 3+ pages on me k? ;)

Have a great day and remember to...

Drink Your Water!!!
:D

Delphi 08-27-2009 08:36 AM

Have fun Sandye and Jacque..you do it..you deserve it darlin'.

Alright, Since I have netflix I can stream unlimited movies on to the Xbox 360 to my TV, so I just tried one of the workout dance videos. And WOW, that sucked big time. You almost want to jump through the screen and slap the instructor...there is absolutely no reason anyone should conduct their selves in the manner in which this overly zealous instructor did. Seriously, what did she do, duct tape that smile on her face? On top of the clearly psychotic instructor, the dance workout just sucked to. But hey, it kept me moving for twenty minutes..eh?

FullSteamAhead 08-27-2009 10:14 AM

Good morning chickiesssssssssss....hope you all awakened to a happy and successful new day .

Nellooooooooo, congratsssssssss on the loss! :carrot::carrot::carrot: OMG, you are so close! Knocking on onderlands door! wtg girl, keep up the awesome work :cheer2::cheer3:

Ruth, congratulationssssssss on having met goal :carrot::carrot::carrot::cheer::cheer::cheer::broc ::cheer2::cheer3::cheer3::congrat: wtg! regarding the sleep pattern, maybe have a cut off time for doing things? From what I understand ..giving ourselves a few hours before to relax and unwind before bedtime helps, good luck with it. I think once school starts your pattern will change but smart idea getting a jump on it! congrats again on the loss ruth :) :carrot::carrot:

dc, wtg on the C25 yesterday. Ditto, it always makes me feel better too. HOpe you had and have a great day.

Hi sasha, I hope your feeling better today. Please don't hesitate to run things by us if you wish to. A great s upportive group , and we would as a group be able to offer a few objective viewpoints and hopefully ease the hurt. We're here for you

Delphi! lol @ the dance video. I just took a peek at the ex. thread before coming in here.....wtg on the workouts! yup, it brought you that much closer to goal! It is dryyyyyyy today delphi, I hear you girl, after a stretch of humid weather it feels good to "breathe" again! Hope TOM comes and you get it out of the way. Hey, You'll be able to start a clean month and no TOM woes for most of the month which is cool. Mine never came girl, even being sick a week and all, and I am just hoping I'm not all out of whack like I was a few months ago (when it came a week later and made me sick again). You keep on truckin,,,,,,, your doing fantastic! hug :)

Hi Sandye,,,,,,,, you productive member of society you! lol :) Have a great day girl.

Jacqueeeeee, wtg on that spinning class!!!!!!!! :carrot::carrot::carrot: and belonging to 3 different places!!!! woweeeeeee chicky, keep up the awesome work! :). You sound better...I taketh mom is recouping nicely. Keep on shining girl

HI to all of our wonderful gals.

Okay, dh is looming........I better go get ready. I will check back in tonight. Hope everyone has a great day, hugsssssss

Lewisempire 08-27-2009 11:21 AM

HI ladies!!!!! I just woke up, so I must be on the same schedule as Ruth! I worked until 11:30 last night, and almost fell asleep charting at the desk:o I go back to work tonight at 4:45 for an inservice:p I hate just sitting there, but I have escaped the last 4-5, and my boss was so nice to remind me the night before, I think she is finally getting wise to my absent-mindedness:^:

FSA- Good morning you wonderful gal! My canteloupes where very juicy, but kinda blah on taste, but my watermelons where the BOMB! Oh, and I have had one or two little hummers stop by for a quick sip! so maybe they will find me next year.........I still have yet to snap a pic of one though. As far as cool weather, I am glad you will get a break from the heat soon, but I am not anxious for winter yet. I hope it stays "just right" for a long time. I am enjoying the hot sun with cool breeze we have had lately!
Do you plan on spending a lot of time with you parents while DH is gone? Hopefully it will be a quick and safe trip!

Delphi you crack me up with your reviews of the videos..... You are hilaireous sp?!!!!!! At least with netflix, you don't own the video, and never have to do it again! YAY!!!

Crazymama WTG, did you do the "ROCKY" dance at the end of your run? That is what I usually do, of course, I am all alone in a Big Hayfield where noone can see me...:D Hope your day is Super-Duper productive!

Jaque9999- WOW! I have heard spinning is addicting! WTG on finishing! That first 15 minutes can be killer! We are very, very proud of you!
Hotsplashes-hang in there chickie! It will get better!

Nellocongrats! you are soooo close to onederland!!!!!! that is Fantastic!!!!!1:carrot::carrot::carrot:

Ruth- Like Delphi said, there is soooo much to do in the smokey mountains. We usually go to Dollywood in the fall because they have their Harvest festival (locally craftsmen) where you can see them make rugs, baskets, etc. like they did in the old days. ( I love history!) We also go to the dinner show at the Dixie stampede, kinda fun, but pricey. We never Pigeon Forge without a round of mini-golf. You can pick up a coupon book at most stores that have all the attractions listed. Gatlinburg is awesome for shopping! There are also a lot of hiking trails in the area. It really just depends on what you like.... I know you will have a blast!!!!!

ShaSha- Sorry to hear about the trouble with your friends! Hope you find a way to get through it soon. But on an Awesome note....How was your first day with the trainer????? About 2 years ago, my Sister hired a trainer, and He kicked her butt!!! She lost 45 pounds in about 2.5 months, and look Spectacular! I mean RIPPED!

MissPiggy What are you studying in school? WTG on the sit-ups! I am with Shasha, I love to hear the progress stories! keeps me motivated!

Okay girls, I need to get moving before the day is gone....The white chile turned out Great, even my picky husband said so. the recipe is on the 3fc under poultry. I did make a few adjustments: I couldn't find tomatillos in a can, or fresh, so I substituted a can of green salsa, that was made with tomatillos. I also added 4tbsp of light sour cream to make it a little bit creamy (like Ruby Tuesdays) All in all it was rreeeaally tastey!

gotta run now! Everyone have a GreatDay!!!

shasha17a 08-27-2009 11:22 AM

Thanks ladies for the kind words. So my day didn't get much better yesterday. I had my first training session at the gym yesterday. We spent much of the hour talking about my habits and filling out a questionaire. Then the last 20 min he had me go through a small workout. Oh boy did it kick my butt. I feel sore in places I never knew I had. I consider myself to be in pretty good shape. I have been working out about 5-6 days a week and even before this month, for the past few years I did get to the gym pretty consistently. But wow, it came very close to killing me, lol. My friend who is at my place this week had cooked us dinner. Shes vegetarian so shes been cooking us veggie meals. She had set up a burrito bar with the fake ground beef. I don't know why, but I ate 2 burritos. Ugh! And I had done so good with eating prior to this. Oh well can't change the past I guess, I'm back on track today. I'm going back for another training session today. I had told him that I prefer Wednesdays, Fridays and the weekends to train, but I think he forgot. I like to do step aerobics on Thurs, but I figure this week I will train instead. I think we are going to be talking about meal plans today for a bit and then train. He mentioned yesterday that he puts more emphasis on body fat rather than just the numbers on the scale. Well my body fat % is alarmingly high. So I hope I can drop it 5% in the next month. So yea, mixed in with already feeling blue about one of my friends, plus feeling like a fat sausage during my workout and then eating 2 burritos, I wasn't feeling too great about myself. Oh and I also found out from my mother yesterday that one of our family friend's daughter got engaged (and shes like 21) to her bf of a couple years. Shes been putting the pressure on me to get engaged because we have been dating for over 5 years and in our culture thats very unusual. Luckily, shes not said a word to him, but I mean what does she expect me to do. We finally moved in together in June and we do talk about it a lot, so I feel like its coming soon. I just get so frusturated because every other day on facebook someone dating for 1 year is getting married. Whens my turn???
Alrighty, sorry for the looong post. I do feel a little bit better after writing it all out. I will make today a better day!

Tummy Girl 08-27-2009 11:32 AM

Good Morning Darling Ladies!

It's so nice to be home, let me count the ways....

The vaca was marvelous, we had a wonderful time at fil wedding, the only day that I didn't do marvelous making choices, I nibbled a bit on cheese and crakers and fruit and dip and that's something I don't like to do, mindless eating. It wasn't much but I don't like to push myself too far in that direction for feel of freefalling into a bowl of chips.

We lived through a near hurricane and lost power for 4 hours (FSA I hope you didn't get it too hard either). My sil, her bf, their dog and my dh and dd went for a few day trip up to cape breton to drive the national park and sight see which was gorgeous and fantastic but they are not the happiest travel companions and it was "interesting" towards the end. The whale watching was marvelous but we didn't manage to get white water rafting b/c that turned out to be hurricane day. We also went for a 3 hour hike along some coastal cliffs which was breathtaking. And then a lot of your routine vacation shopping in halifax. Super busy and tons of fun.

On the more practical end, I got in part of my exercise, I did 5 cardio sessions while I was away although fil didn't have his weights anymore so I falked out on the STing while I was there. The east coast was sooo hot, I can't even tell you and humid like all get out so running was challenging to say the least, even first thing in the morning but I did it, it was hard but that's what makes it great afterwards. Food was challenging, my brain hurts from all the thinking and trying to figure out what I should eat and how to mod stuff to make it ok. We ate out 17 times in two weeks, OMG, some days it was for every meal. And thankfully my Fil cooks fairly healthy on all the other days but they only have white bread, white buns, white pasta, etc. But I made the best choices I could, bought whole grain bread for myself and dd and went to the farmers market to stock up on fruit and veggies that they don't normally have in the house.

So the damage from 13 days away was a loss of 3 lbs, that's right, a loss?! down to 178! Had my scale showdown this morning, I stood at one end of the bathroom and the scale at the other, guns drawn and needless to say I kicked its butt. The over achiever in my wanted more but knowing that half the time I was making a choice between bad and not so bad food, I gave my head a shake and have come away pretty proud of myself. A two week vacation, as op as I could be, my calories were under 2000 a day unless I grossly underestimated something with a half hour of some mindless snacking and keeping my exercise goal (cardio anyway). Over all pretty awesome.

Anywho I will continue personals from here on out, I think Delphi's right I do have a lot to catch up on, I reread some stuff and don't remember reading it the first time! And Sandye and Delphi WTG on the weight loss, super proud of you! MsP congrats on the C25K completion that was wicked and you're almost at the 140's, wow time flys. Nello I saw that almost 199, can't wait! FSA you're a doll. SG you're doing awesome too and oh there's just so many! Ok gotta start unpacking, we didn't even crack a suitcase yesterday, just hit some grocery stores in Edmonton on the way home and didn't get back until late. I've scheduled today off from exercise but you know I just might find something...

Delphi 08-27-2009 11:36 AM

shasha ~ Rushing into anything isn't good..I think you guys will make that step when you are ready for it.

LE ~ hehe, you are correct my dear. Thank goodness, I'm not spending money on that crap..but the experimentation process could kill me.

FSA ~ Yup yup my dear. Loving the "breathable" weather here to. Though the weekend was great, it's been considerably warmer the past few days.

TOM showed up this morning..finally. I'm kind of relieved actually. I can go ahead and get it over with, hopefully before September gets here..although like Sandye said, it sucks having two come in the same month. Alright I'm off to feed Canaan and get some exercise in. Tootaloo ladies!

Delphi 08-27-2009 11:38 AM

That's excellent Tummy that you still came away with a loss, I think you should be very proud darling. Good to have you back though. I missed ya girly!

Tummy Girl 08-27-2009 11:53 AM

Thanks Delphi my dear, I feel a bit behind the eight ball but I'm so excited to get back at it, and eat things that aren't white! And my TOM started today too, super weird, I'm late, you guys are early, crazy!
