Hey everyone, just wanted to check in really quick. Only have 1.5 more hours at work. I can't wait to get back into the gym routine. No more out of town weekends for me for a little while. I am so relieved.

Shrinking Girl 08-24-2009 07:07 PM

Helloooo!

Just a drive-by update for me today. I've got sooo much work to do yet tonight. The brace seems to have helped with the c25k, the knee is still complaining a bit, but my hip didn't start hurting at all during my run yesterday and I figured the hip was due to me walking/running funny on the knee. I've also decided to run on the road in the neighborhood rather than at the park as the path in the park is really uneven and I think that may be how/why I hurt my knee... too much sideways motion!

It's getting down to the wire and prior to TOM coming I was not far from my goal weight but it's impossible to tell now. Hopefully it will clear up before the end of the month because losing 6 lbs in a month would be absolutely fantastic... I will obviously take what I can get though.

I hope everyone is doing great and I hope to catch up soon.

misspiggy408 08-24-2009 07:54 PM

Hey Ladies! Sounds like everyone had a good weekend :)

Sasha: Congrats on being so good on your trip! I know wut you mean when i to comes to pizza. It's hard to just eat a slice or 2. I almost always break down for pizza. A matter of fact, we ordered one last nite! LOL

Crazymama: Glad to hear the party went well. It would have been hard for me to pass up the tortilla lime chips too! LUV those!!

Jessicado: Like ur new avitar! LoL

Ms P: Glad you had a good time!

I did NOT behave this weekend :( But on the upside, my hubby and I had a great time on Saturday. I was doing good eating wise, but once i had a few cocktails, I started GRUBBIN!! I ate more "sliders" this weekend than i have in my life! (you know, the mini hamburgers that come in 3's)LOL

ANYWAY ... I haven't weighed myself to see how much damage was done over the weekend ... i really dont want to know :?: But today i'm back on track. I already got my workout in and am ready to get out of the 140's!!

Oh ya, and i've been DOWNING water all weekend. Probably dehydration!

FullSteamAhead 08-24-2009 09:30 PM

Hi girls :). Lot's to catch up on. I read all of your news and congrats on the losses and the progress! I really would like to address your posts and hoping to catch up soon. Jacquee, I'm glad your mom is better. I'm sure they are taking good care of her and your brother is there which is great. Keep us posted girl. MsP, prob salt or fluid from the dinner, you will get it right off. Sandyeeeee, wtg on goal and on the inches and all! :carrot::carrot::carrot: NSM, we love having you here ...talk more soon. A big hi to all of you! wtg chickies :carrot::carrot::carrot:

I am ,believe it or not, still awaiting TOM but today I was lucky and felt better and earlier tonight wasn't too bad and got out to do some walking. We found my parents at the boardwalk and it was so nice to see them. I didn't exercise yesterday but so far so good this week...considering. Oh, I went to the market today and got my organic greens i like and my salad fixings, some fruit (trying not to eat too much of the high fructose type) and a few other healthy ingredients. Lot's more to catch up on but I'm going to go lay down a bit. I will catch up to you all eventually, keep up the great work ladies. We will chat soon :) hugssssssss

I better go post my minutes before logging out and its a darn good thing I made that one of my goals .....

Hi Ladies!
Just a quick check in, haven't had time to read all the posts yet...been extremely busy. I'm still up over a pound but I'm glad thats all I'm up considering we had family in last week and Saturday we went to the fair and I just had to try a funnel cake! I always hear about them but have never had one, it was pretty good but I don't think I'll ever get one again, no telling how many calories is in one of them. Of course I didn't eat it all myself, all four of us shared it.
The bathroom is still not done yet...sigh...but things have just been crazy around here, just too much going on at one time.
I'll try to catch up on the posts tomorrow. Hope everyone had a great Monday!

Delphi 08-25-2009 06:14 AM

Good Morning Ladies

Ruth ~ Hey I know how you feel...it would be hard for me to "just say no" to a funnel cake to. You hang in there though..I'm sure it'll come off soon.

FSA ~ Glad to hear you are feeling better. But a shame TOM is taking his time, hopefully he will here and leave with some expedience. :)

Shrinking ~ Good to hear that the knee is holding up. I know that must have you relieved.

piggy ~ Don't let that scale get the best of ya. Just weigh...and then you'll really know if you have to do...seeing a gain can either be a great motivator or not...it's up to you do make that decision. :)

Shasha ~

Hotsplashes ~ Love how you put that in all caps. And good for you.

As for me, I am doing well, but Sandye I'm almost positive this is our pre-TOM week, it's looking that way and I'm stalled out again at a gain. Drank plenty of water yesterday, so I know my body is naturally retaining it due to stoopid TOM. I'd give anything if I could get two minutes alone with Eve. At any rate, I'm off to wake up properly and get a little cardio in. I'll check in with you ladies later today.

iDream 08-25-2009 08:58 AM

Good Morning Ladies!! :)

Nello~ wow you're so close to Onederland!!! You'll be there before ya know it! Oooh P90X! I've been eyeing that, just waiting for the go ahead from hubby before I take the plunge and I'm also keeping my eye out for good deals on it too. ;) I'm with ya on thinking about September goals already too...man, August went by fast!

MsP~ Well...did ya do it? Did ya? Did you Finish the C25K?!?! I was thinking of you today while I was running. I kept saying, 'as natural as breathing' any time I started to get tired of running. I gotta say, it helped! So thanks for helping me make it through my first Wk 4 run!!! :)

Delphi~ ya know, I never thought I wanted girls! I'm a tomboy and don't know a thing about fashion, hair, make up...I spent my youth pal'ing around with the boys and that kept up pretty much until I got married. However, after we decided to have one more after the boys (haha, yeah, so much for just One more huh? ;)) I thought it might be fun to have a girl. They're definitely different than boys, that's for sure! And it's been a blast dressing them up and watching them play with dolls and now princess stuff. :) As for it being pre-TOM--yeah, I'm with ya. I got in my water, but not as much as usual and I was up .4 today. Here's to getting him outta here as fast as we can huh? Man, didn't we *just* get rid of him?! Sheesh...

Jessica~ Glad to hear the changes are paying off already! Sometimes a little change up is all we need to jump start things again. :) I'm using the same podcasts as you--he cracks me up with how mellow his voice is. Not at all like a coach pumping you up to 'gogogogogo!', but, it helps to having him telling you when to start and stop that's for sure! And I'm with Delphi--Goonies ROCK! I found an old Goonies mag that I had and my littlest sister was very into them last year and I gave it to her. I told her to be careful with it as it is Vintage material after all.

Hotsplashes~ congrats on getting in all of your water!!! Good luck with the scale today hun! :)

Shasha~ ahhh, did you just read what you wrote? "I can't wait to get back into the gym routine" isn't just great when we start feeling like that vs. "Ugh...I don't want to go to the gym!" WTG girlie! And hooray for no more weekend trips--as fun as they are, it does get tiring being that strong all the time huh? ;)

SG~ glad to hear the brace is helping! Yeah, I don't like running on gravel or grass or any uneven surface, it's tough on the ol' joints! I really should get my hiney outside to run...but I really want to run before the kids wake up and it's dark outside then! Ahh, maybe I'll suck it up and head outside Thursday.

MissP~ So glad to hear you and hubby had a great time! It's tough to be OP all the time, and I'm glad to hear you're back on track! 130's here you come!!!!

FSA~ TOM's still not here?! Geez, what is it with that guy?! I hope he gets here quick and leaves just as quickly so you can get rid of him! Ugh! No fun! You're doing great on posting your minutes! Is that going to be a recurring goal for next month too? :D

Ruth~ Mmm, funnel cakes are good, but they are the devil! Evil little sugary beasties! Hubby loves 'em! I'd say a pound gain is pretty great as well! I probably would have gained that with just one bite of a funnel cake!

Well girls, I got my workout and shower in despite waking up late and now I'm just finishing up here before I get lunches ready for the girls and I. We're heading out to a play date with total strangers at the park today. After living here for 2 years I still don't have any real friends but one who lives 30 mins away and well, I need to get out there and change that! So, I posted on a local mom's board and asked if anyone wanted to meet up for a play date this week. Thankfully quite a few women replied so maybe I'll make a friend or two out of the deal.

Up a smidge today but I'm blaming it on water. I had a pretty big deficit yesterday as I spent most of the afternoon moving furniture. I moved Ab's crib to Em's room and the boys' beds into Ab's room. I'm going to start prepping the girls' room for painting here in the next couple of days and then we'll see what the boys want to do with their room. We also hauled the giant box of playhouse parts up the stairs to the boys' old room, which will now be the playroom, and started assembling that. It's so cute! We need to order replacement parts as some were damaged, but as of right now it's at least together enough to play in. :)

So, I guess I must have channeled Delphi yesterday because I was quite productive indeed. :D Thanks girlie!! ;)

Well ladies, I better get going. I hope you all have a wonderful day and be sure to...

Drink Your Water!!!
:D

FullSteamAhead 08-25-2009 09:21 AM

Good morning girls :)

I'm feeling pretty normal today and I am happyyyyyyy about that! lol : ) no TOM in sight but it's fine with me as long as I'm feeling good. Regarding my news on this end, prior to the weekend there (dotn know exact timing) but I did get carb and choc. cravings pretty strongly which didn't last long. I hopeed right back to it on sunday and the past few days have been POP. We have one week to go! We are in the homestretch now and 1 week can make a difference as to a loss, gain, maintenance, etc. so let's keep on going!

I will be starting our September thread 2 or 3 days before the first of the month.....I believe we start on a Tuesday next month.

Dh is on vaca again the rest of the week. Not a problem planwise this time around!!!!! It ended up perfect that we ran out of things and went grocery shopping the other day and got onlyyyyyy what is on plan! He wants to take it easy with me and it is always so much easier when only things OP are in the house. Some freinds wanted to come over for mexican and my specialty fruity drinks.....dinner invitations this week...etc. etc. Guess what ladies? NO, NO, NO! lol. I have put all of those things off, it's not like I havn't had my share this summer and there certainly comes a time to just ........well ukwim. Once you get onto a good roll.......stay there!

I have also made my meal plan simple....not varying it too much right now and having either one or the other thing right now. It makes it no fuss. Interestingly enough, I picked up womans world mag ( a paper mag that comes out weekly) at the market the other day and dr. oz had a diet in there (this looks like a great one ladies) and specifically talks about how simplicity of a plan can be helpful in many ways........touchet doc! I am not following that plan at the moment though I do agree with his tips and tricks (based on a cornell university finding).

Delphi,,,,,, thanks girl. Hope you had a great weekend, hope you all did. Have a great new day girls. Let's hang tough and start september with a bang! Chat soon. Ty all for the support and encouragement along the way.....super duper group :)

FullSteamAhead 08-25-2009 09:24 AM

Sandyeeeeeeee, I just saw your post! OH you! That sounds great, I hope you have a wonderful time at the playdate! Do keep us posted. Thanks chicky regarding my min. posting ...etc. yessssss, I am most definietly setting it as a goal next month too! IT does help. Hope you have an awesome day. Being up a smidge is prob just fluid, your doing awesomeeeeeeee .........keep on shining girl :)

Delphi 08-25-2009 09:51 AM

Sandye ~ When you get done channeling your inner delphi, send some of that stuff my way. More painting ..eh? Now that sounds like a bandwagon I can jump on. What color have you decided on for the girls room?

FSA ~ A new thread sounds great. I think I need to start going a different direction with my goals just to change them up a bit...so next month..it's on. :D At any rate, I don't know too much about Dr. Oz, I've just heard his name in passing really..but I do hope whatever you choose to do, works out for you. :)

Well, I must say it feels sooooooooooo good getting back to my cardio. I almost forgot how good it feels to have an entire hour under my belt, of sweat drenching, heart pumping cardio. Love it! Well I'm off to finish laundry and other mundane tasks...so I'll catch you cool cats later. Peace out Yo!

Ms Perception 08-25-2009 11:21 AM

Sandye-Good for you for trying to connect with some women locally! I will be in that boat soon since we are in transition right now. Also, glad I encouraged you this morning through week 4. It's all you, baby! Keep up the hard work! See my C25K news below. :)

FSA-Good news that you were feeling well enough to get back into your routine today. It does help so much to only have OP stuff in the house. So, have fun with DH during his vaca!

MP-So...did you weigh? When I know I've been off plan part of me doesn't want to know, but the bigger part of me is too curious what the damage is to NOT look! I'm sure you'll get whatever it is off soon since you hopped right back on plan.

SG-So how goes it, now that your back into the swing of school? I'm sure it's a challenge keeping up with everything. You're right even if you don't meet goal...think of all you've accomplished and you can't help but feel good about it! There have been several months that I didn't quite meet goal, but got close and knew I had at least made progress.

Delphi-So good to hear you enjoyed your sweat-drenched cardio again! It musta felt great to get back to it!

nello-I'm curious to see what everyone sets for September goals. I am debating mine right now, ever since you mentioned it. I wasn't thinking about setting them yet, be we are in the home stretch of August here. So, thanks for reminding me to think ahead!

YES! I did it! I finished C25K this morning. It's rainy here and I was waiting for it to stop and it just wouldn't, so what did I do?! I laced up my shoes, threw on a wind jacket and went for my run. It was alternating between a light rain and a sprinkle during the run, but I wasn't gonna let anything stop me. I was drenched at the end, but so happy to accomplish this goal.
I am still up almost a half pound, but confident that will leave today and I'll be at or past my August goal tomorrow. Thanks for all the encouragement here, both directly and just from the inspiration of reading all of your stories! I know I'm not the only one who deals with all this healthy lifestyle stuff and it makes it more do-able to know there are women all around being successful at it everyday. So Cool!

dcapulet 08-25-2009 11:48 AM

delphi - glad to see you :)

Jessica- this is my first vacation where I did exercise on purpose. :) I didn't want to fall behind in my c25k training.

cfmama- glad to be back! we spent the week at the Jersey shore, so I got in the great sunrise! the beach was off limits because of HUGE waves due to hurricane Bill here in the NE, but I got other beach time in (wave jumping) so it was a good time overall. Very refreshing.

I can't believe august is almost over! Last night we started week 9 day 1 of the couch to 5k, and I was able to run for 3 min. I will take it. Yesterday, I came in way UNDER (??) calories for the first time in however long. Not something I was/am aiming for. I barely made 1200! I think it's cause I was SSSOOOO on plan... lots of protein and yummy veggies... no extras. I need to find a way to eat clean and with enough calories...

Delphi 08-25-2009 11:59 AM

MsP ~ :congrat: and :bravo: for completing the C25k. I'm sooooo proud of you...and I know you must feel fantastic with yourself. You should be very, very proud. :carrot: :carrot: :carrot:

dcapulet ~ Plenty of ways to eat clean and get those calories in...two words...peanut butter. ;)

misspiggy408 08-25-2009 12:48 PM

BuMMeR

Hey gals ... I got on the scale and it said 144. WOW. Back up, 4+ pounds. :( Just from the weekend. But thats what alcohol and cheeseburgers will do to ya :p I've been downing my water all morning now, in hopes that some of it is water weight! LOL So I pulled out my 6 week total body makeover kit and have decided to start the workout program it has with resistance bands. I've been lifting weights, but the gym i go to they aren't so good, and always need re-calibrating, etc. So I'm excited to start toning/tightening up.

Hope you all have a lovely Tuesday! :D I'll check back with everyone in a bit.
