Hey all. A little late coming in here today. I'm trying to keep myself busy at work because my day goes by so much faster when I do. I was so tired this morning because my friend is visiting us for the week and I stayed up until 11 talking to her. This morning I had 2 cups of coffee, and I NEVER drink the stuff. Only when I am tired. But now I'm certainly feeling the effects, hehe. I already told her that I'm going to be working out and I think shes going to be joining me at the gym since she has a membership there too. But she likes to swim so she might go earlier in the day. Alright, now I'm just yammering, no more coffee for me.

sotypical 08-25-2009 01:00 PM

WOW - you guys post so much. I haven't posted since this started! haha

I think my goal was to just lose some weight, my scale is down - still a few more days to go - hope it stays that way!

Hotsplashes 08-25-2009 01:03 PM

Ruth... Ohh Fairs!! I love fairs! And I love the food at fairs.. Congrats on SHARING that funnel cake!! That's a great way to get a "fix" but not the calories! VERY GOOD!!

Delphi - GREAT JOB on that Cardio!! A whole hour is alot! You are doing such a great job!

Cazymama - I hope you get to make some new friends at the park today! And I hope Ab and Em make new friends too! Moving all that furniture is a work out in itself!!

MsPerception.. YAYYYYY For the C25K... Uhmmm what is that exactly???lol But still YAYYYYYY!!!!

Dcapulet... Awesome on the Calorie intake! Yeah once you start eating clean.. you will find you have to eat alot more just to make the calorie count. Good Job!!!

FullSteamahead... Hope you are having a good day!

Well, I got on the scale today.. Weighed the same..but I feel lighter. If that makes any sense. But it's that TOM again. SO I will have to wait till it's done to see a loss.

I got on my bicycle last nite and rode for a few miles.. Just about killed me. DOn't know if it's an exercise I am allowed to do or not I will ahve to ask my doctor.

Got up early this moring and went grocery shopping at the farmer's market and the asian market.. got all good stuffus!!

So now I'm off to go pick veggies from the garden and maybe go for another bike ride later this evening.

I calculated how much water I am drinking. 2 x 32oz tumblers, 2 x 20oz water bottles... that's over 100oz of water a day. Not including all the green tea I drink!! WOOHOO...

See everyone tomorrow!!!

jessicado22 08-25-2009 02:17 PM

Ha ha--thanks MissPiggy, Delphi and Crazymama and about my avatar! I actually had a moving one of Chunk doing the truffle shuffle, but it was too large for 3FC. So excited to have been a member long enough now to get a siggy and to be able to personalize my profile and have trackers!

Ruth--Congrats on sharing the funnel cake! I love those things. Not quite as much as elephant ears *drools*, but still if funnel cake is made right, I would totally break my diet for that! I can fantasize about that because there is no fair here to tempt me, lol.

Shrinking Girl--so glad the brace worked! You are my motivation to start the C25K, so you can't stop now!

Ms Perception--Congrats for finishing! I can't even imagine running what is planned in the last week, lol. Way to go!

Dcapulet
--I know what you mean about meeting calories with eating clean! I am vegetarian and trying to do mostly all veggies and fruit, and I have a really hard time meeting 1200. I like Delphi's way of pb though.....mmmmm. ;)

MissPiggy...sorry the scale is up hun. Some of that is sure to just be water weight retained from the salt and carbs in the burgers, so it should drop off fast. I am sure you will work it off the rest in no time too!

Well, I weighed in this morning and I am just giddy. It was down again! I was SURE it would be up, but it is almost down over 1/2 pound to almost 271 today. Those few changes I made have made such a HUGE difference! Funny thing though is I am allowing myself to splurge a little now, so I am eating more variety and losing more weight at the same time, lol. I wasn't losing in a whole week what I have lost in a few days now. Soooo close to my goal now!

Delphi 08-25-2009 02:56 PM

Jessica ~ Yeah, I've tried quite a few gif's and they are usually too big for this sites avatars. :( I had a really cool star wars one and it was a no go. I swear I've tried like 100 and none of them worked. A gif file takes up more file space, most of the time. Oh and :congrat: on being down and being able to add that variety..that sure does help.

Hotsplashes ~ That's a whole heap of water. The recommended dosage is half your body weight, but I'm sure what your drinking is just fine as well. I was drinking too much when I first started and that caused me to retain to for some weird reason..funny how tempremental our bodies are.

Sotypical ~ Yup, we are a chatty bunch. :bravo: on being down some. :)

Shasha ~ It's always beneficial to us when a friend supports what we do, so I'm sure her tagging along at the gym will be a great thing. ;)

Piggy ~ Well, just try to stay OP and I'm sure those four pounds will be gone in no time. :)

Sheesh, writing that personal about tagging along got me thinking about Tagalongs...OMGosh those things were great. I would sit down and eat a whole box of those bad boys..after they were properly refrigerated. Which reminds me, what do I do about girl scout cookies this year..just buy them and then give them away I guess..OR, I'll order some I know I wont like. Yup, that's the ticket. ;)

It's been a slow day around these parts, but I noticed that Tummy updated her facebook about doing some Whale watching today and then heading back tomorrow..so YA! we get our Tummygirl back. However, I do not envy all that she has to read upon her return...that's a whole heap of posts.

Umm, I think that's about it. I've just finished an hour on the tready and ready to rock n roll when the boys get home. I'll use my jedi mind tricks to get them to finish their homework in like t-minus ten minutes and then use my lightsaber to heat the pizza up. Yup, I've got it all planned out...then it's back to the mental ward and my comfy, downy fresh straight jacket :woohoo:

Alright, I'm outta here. You ladies have a groovy evening, with lots of bow chicka wow wow's! ;)

Oh and just cause, I did some comparison photos since I joined the site....

The first two are at 230 and the second two are current at 183

Sasha - cool, a workout buddy! I used to have one of those here @ work but they laid her off :( It was great though. We were always supporting each other, and we would make ourselves workout even on the days we didn't want to.

Hotsplashes - that's a lot of water :D go girl!

Jessicado -- omg, you're SO CLOSE to your goal now! At the rate your going you'll be there by the end of August ... maybe more! :)

Delphi -- mmMMmm ... Tagalongs are like CANdy!! I like the peanut butter cookies too. I bought like 5 boxes from my co-workers little sister, but gave them away to my MIL. Not before I had a few though :p

I just had a mean workout!! I burned 530 cals on the elliptical. I was going to do the exercises outta my 6 week total body makeover kit, but I need a door to attach the resistance bands to. I'll figure out something ....

Today is my oldest son, Jacob's bday ... he's 8 years old. :) So i'm getting pizza tonite (his fave) for dinner, and cupcakes for dessert. Hope I stay strong. Pizza is one of my weaknesses! It seems like i'm never able to pass it up! Then Saturday we are going to hit the water park with a few of his little friends, for his bday. I'm dreading wearing a suit tho ... thank god for cover ups! LOL

Delphi 08-25-2009 05:21 PM

Piggy ~ That's a load of calories burned on the elliptical...awesome! :carrot: Happy Birthday to your son as well. I hope it is a spectacular one. Good luck at the water park, I'm sure you will look great. :)

Shrinking Girl 08-25-2009 06:20 PM

Hello Chickies!

I'm have a bit of an up and down day. My first irate parent phone call has already taken place and those always spoil my mood especially when the parent starts going off on me without hearing what I have to say on the matter. Sheesh, sometimes I think people think I'm the EVIL TEACHER who delights when people fail my class.
On an up note though... I totally made it through Day 1 of week 4. I wasn't sure I could but in the end... it wasn't any more or less difficult than 3 minutes had been. I went slow and steady and was even able to really push it the last minute of my final 5 minutes like the podcast suggested. I'll spend the rest of the week trying to work on my speed. I AM TOTALLY DELIGHTED that I did it. I could squeal like a little girl and clap my hands just thinking about it!!

Ok.... an attempt at personals

Shasha - Glad to hear you had fun over the weekend and now a friend visiting you for the week! You busy busy, social girl!

jessicado - Wow, it's so fantastic to hear that I motivated anyone to do anything!! And you're right, having things fit again is simply awesome... I'm dreaming of the day when I can walk into a regular size store and try on all the cute stuff! Also, what a bummer to find out the Wii scale was off... I'd likely have thrown a tantrum.

cmo4 - I am not a big fan of clutter, but my DH saves EVERYTHING... even the boxes things come in because "you never know if you're going to need it". It drives me bonkers but I've given up trying to deter him from it. I hear ya on not wanting to run when it's dark out.. I go out at 5 am and the only thing positive I can say about it is that my constant fear and watching out for the boogey man to pop out of the corn fields means I don't concentrate so much on how long it's been since I started running and is it time to stop yet.

Delphi - Every time you talk about loving cardio I get flashbacks to when I used to try to do aerobics at home... it always ended with me winded and feeling like I could vomit, laying on the floor and swearing I'd never exercise again....so... kudos to you for loving it! Perhaps I'll try it again some day. And OMG, the girl scout cookies.... it's the caramel delites that do me in every time. I think I've once even licked the extra caramel from inside the packaging.....mmmm, I can almost taste it...
And... your photos are amazing... wow... what a difference!

MsP - I'm starting to get back into the swing of things... it would be so much easier if I didn't have a brand new course I'm teaching this year... and it's a 2 credit course so it's really like 2 brand new courses, it's certainly keeping me on my toes and all of the lab prep OMG, it might kill me... but I'm hanging in there. I'm tired, I'm crabby, I might be a little bit on the witchy side... but I'm hanging in there! CONGRATS on completing the c25k, that's fantastic... and in the rain no doubt! You are fantastic!

misspiggy - I'm sure those lbs are mostly water weight. That alcohol is nasty stuff but boy is it soooo good sometimes!!!

ruth135 08-25-2009 06:27 PM

Hey chicks!

The scale was nice to me today...back down to my ticker weight, yay! TOM is pretty much gone so hopefully I have two weeks to drop some weight. I hope to lose two pounds this week.
My sister may be coming again this weekend but if she does, I'm determined to not get any soft drinks this time, I drank too much of the stuff last week...she won't have any problem with it because she don't drink the stuff anyway except for maybe a sip now and then. The good thing is that she watches her weight and has a sensitive system so things like pizza are not an option.

Wow! I just did 61 minutes on the treadmill whew! Thats how long it took me to read all the posts lol. I discovered I can set my laptop on my treadmill and surf the net while I'm walking. I can't read anything while I'm jogging though...hehe. I can still keep up a pretty good pace too, usually I'm at 4.0mph for the majority of my workout with a few jogging spurts.

We may be going on vacation next month to the Smoky Mountains/Gatlinburg. In over 13 years of marriage we've never been on a vacation. We were supposed to go to the Smoky's for our honeymoon but we never went. I wanted to have lost all my weight before we went somewhere but my husband took a few days off for next month and mentioned that maybe we could go. I've been looking at cabins/chalets and there are so many, its hard to make a choice.

Oh and Sandye Those pounds are just falling off of you! I can't believe how fast your dropping that weight, its awesome! You too Delphi
!
Well need to go jump in the shower, catch you all later!

rdw1 08-25-2009 06:56 PM

Hi all! :) I just thought I would introduce myself, I am Rikki and I usually post on the SBD forum, I plan to sign up for the September challenge-lots of inspiration going on in here! you ladies are amazing! My food intake has been pretty good lately but I definitely am going to have to join the Sept. exercise challenge too! Thats where I need the most help!

Shrinking Girl 08-25-2009 07:26 PM

Hiya rdw!!! It'll be great to get to know you in September!!

Lewisempire 08-25-2009 09:42 PM

Hi all you great ladies! I have to apoligize for being waaayyy MIA lately. Long story short, I took most of the month off from formal exercise:yikes: and have had way less than POP menus, Not GOOD!!!!! Stress levels at my full time and part- time jobs have been over the top, and We decided it was time to apply for the loan to drill a well, get our septic put in, buy the machinery to start my husbands business, and move out on to our property. OMG, it has been just nutso:dizzy: Well now I am feeling a little more level-headed, and am ready to jump back on the healthy wagon! My plan is to plan my whole day in meals/snacks the night before, so I don't have to think about it when I am hungry, or in a hurry. So that will be my goal for the rest of August, is to have a daily plan and follow it.
I scanned a couple pages of the posts, all I can say is everyone seems to be doing really great, and I want to be doing great again too! I will post my exercise goals on the sister thread...........Thanks for just being here!

Ms Perception 08-25-2009 10:43 PM

LE-YAY!!! You're back! I missed you! I was wondering what you were up to. Wow! You've been busy. I can understand not having time to post or even think straight. I'm glad you're back and ready to hop back on the wagon though.

rdw- WELCOME! Good to have you and look forward to getting to know you more in September. It's great to get your feet wet here and see what a bunch of chatty Kathys you have to deal with here! LOL

SG-Hubby has been dealing with disgruntled (older) staff (he's a HS principal, if I haven't mentioned) since he's making some changes. Life in education is not all roses...this I know! But, bless your heart for being a dedicated educator. My hat's off to ya! Good job on week 4. It's true you do start to just do the run and think, " I can do this. I did last week. I can do this week."

ruth-I hope your trip works out. It sounds like a wonderful trip to take. Also, excellent way to surf the 'net. 61 minutes...nice!

Tummy Girl 08-25-2009 10:44 PM

Hey Ladies, and I actually have been trying to keep up each time I post. it's been hard but I've needed the encouragement while I've been away. Two weeks without calorie counting officially is way too long!

And I did go whale watching today, LOL, glad you're checking Delphi. We only saw dolphins but it was great anyway. Gonna head to bed, up at 4:30a to catch our flight. So many ppl doing so well! I look forward to getting back to routine and having a scale showdown when I get home.

Tomorrow is busy all day so I'll likely be back on Thursday morning. Cheerio!

shasha17a 08-26-2009 12:38 AM

Delphi- wow, looking great! You look like a completely different person.

Tummy- Hope your vacay was fab.

Lewisempire- Hey, planning your meals in advance is such a great idea. I am going to start doing that and cooking in bulk so that I can take healthy food during lunch.

shrinking girl- I can't even imagine being a teacher. Major props to you for what you do. Sorry about the irrate parent.

rdw1- Welcome. This is a great place to come and write about your ups and downs.

misspiggy- Hope your son had a great bday. How was everything with the pizza? We are watching something on food network right now about the best pizza and it all sounds soooo good. I want it too now. hehe

hotsplashes- did you find anything interesting at the asian market? I go every now and then and love to browse through everything.

jessicado and ruth- Congrats on the downward movement!

Sorry the personals are so short. I have to take care of some stuff before bed tonight and my friend is here all week. Hope you have a lovely night and I will catch up with everyone tomorrow.
