Lost and Lonely, done is done! Keep it up! :carrot:

I was up and out the door...I usually don't exercise on commute days and I doubt today will be an exception! LOL

I'm up. This isn't getting any easier!!! Grrrr...I keep thinking it'll get easier but I'm just dragging myself out of bed a bit later every day. :(

Tracy, you rocked it yesterday! Good job girl!

Peg

Tracy 06-26-2009 11:39 AM

60 min. again on elliptical!:whoo::whoo:!Even though i felt like I was going to
:faint:,I lost another lb. so that gave me the incentive to keep on going!Come on,you could do it. I know it is harder, when you have to get up for work.I am sending you :goodvibes:!

p7eggyc 06-27-2009 08:30 AM

I'm up. I'm going to help friends move today so that is going to be my exercise today.

Great work Tracy! 60 min 2 days in a row! You are just doing sooooo well and the weight is coming off very nicely. Keep on truckin'!

Peg

Tracy 06-27-2009 01:32 PM

Hi Peg
After the wokout yesterday, there was alot of yardwork I had to do,So when I got weighed today I lost 2.5lbs!:yay:
I did my elliptical 65 min today!:faint:
Good Luck with the moving!I hate moving, but it is a good workout!:)

p7eggyc 06-28-2009 06:32 PM

Tracy,
You are doing terrific! Feeling pretty solid? When do you have to go back to work?

I didn't get up this morning. The first morning since we started this that I didn't at least get out of bed. I rolled over for a while and then read in bed (I was at the end of my book) instead of exercising OR church. :o Ugh....I've been running around all day. The good news is I have food planned and in the house which might actually be more important than the exercise at this point.

Peg

Tracy 06-29-2009 10:30 AM

Hi Peg,
I am a teacher's aide,so I am off until the end of Aug.:yay: .I did 60 min yesterday. But, I went  with food over the weekend,so I really am not motivated today. We'll see what happens...
Are you on maintance,or trying to lose weight?

p7eggyc 06-29-2009 10:50 AM

I didn't get up this morning. Bad, bad Peggy. I woke at 3am having a coughing/allergy attack and had a heck of a time getting back to sleep so I gave myself the hour back this morning. Such is life. I will commute the next two days so try to pick this all up again on Thursday. Maybe the long holiday weekend will help me get on track.

Wow, the whole summer to get this habit going. Great news Tracy! You are going to have a routine well established! Don't feel like you have to keep increasing. Keep your eye on the prize and know there will be slips but they don't have to be falls. :)

I am trying to lose a few winter pounds but for the most part I'm in maintenance. I am not a big fan of the scale so I haven't gotten on it but I think I might this week. I don't even own one so I used to weigh at work 1x per week but now it's an hour drive away and I always have beverages on the drive so I don't know what to do. Probably time to break down and own one. The clothes that weren't fitting are already fitting better but not my 'skinniest' stuff. I need to get enough off that my favorite shorts fit. I wore them Saturday but they are still pretty snug but at least I could stand them.

Peg

Tracy 06-29-2009 02:13 PM

I did 60 min.,but I am losing my motivation to continue. It is going to be a day to day battle. That is why I could only focus on one day at a time.

p7eggyc 06-29-2009 03:36 PM

Nothin' wrong with one day at a time! Only way to get it done anyway. Good job! What if you tried to alternate between a few types of exercise? A little variety might be good!

i'll check in after I get to work in the morning!

Peg

Tracy 06-30-2009 10:01 AM

Hi Peg,
I did 50 min. on elliptical. You are right about changing exercises. Someone told me when you keep doing the same thing your body gets use to it,and then it is as not effective.I am still fighting the battle.:D How are you? What's new?

p7eggyc 06-30-2009 10:27 AM

You are just doing great! I don't know how much I buy that whole bit about it being less effective for the avg Jane like you and me. I think doing anything is good but I do think that, particularly with machines, the boredom factor is a much bigger danger. Do you listen to music or watch tv? I do like to listen to podcasts while I exercise and I can tell I haven't been doing much because I'm waaaaaaay backed up on them.

I'm doing fine. I just joined the July Exercise Challenge. I think that might be the next step in getting this handled. I definitely am noticing a change in my clothing fit so weight is definitely coming off and I feel like I've gotten the eating plan back on the straight and narrow and it's feeling better and more doable again.

I think I might join your 5 day challenge next week for the exercise piece next week too. Hope your planning to keep going on that. I think it's a great strategy.

Peg

Tracy 07-01-2009 09:56 AM

Good Morning Peg,
How are you today? You gave me the idea to join an exercise thread. So,I joined the 300plus exercise thread for July. Thanks for the idea:)Exercisie dosen't look too tempting today. But I will try.:goodvibes:for today.

p7eggyc 07-01-2009 02:14 PM

Excellent plan! Glad it was helpful. I already feel more motivated to go do at least a little bit tonight so I can move my little watermelon! I might see what the weather is like and go use my pool for a bit tonight. It will be the first time this year! Crazy!

Hope you got some movin' in today and I'll see you bright and early tomorrow morning!

Peg

p7eggyc 07-02-2009 10:28 AM

:dz: I didn't get up...again. Blah, blah, blah. The bad part is I still set the alarm and basically tossed and turned and and didn't get good rest on top of it. I was totally annoyed with myself and yet still unable to get up.

I have plenty of time to exercise later in the day but that isn't really the point. Grrrrrrrr....

Peg

marbear24 07-02-2009 10:45 AM

May I join you ladies?
Mornings are not my thing. We have three alarms on two different cell phones and an alarm clock that need to go up for us to wake up in the am (7 alarms total). Ooof.

p7eggyc 07-02-2009 11:50 AM

Hop right on board! Will be glad to have you! Are you trying to get a morning exercise habit going or just get out of bed earlier?

I had a guest last weekend and turned off the tv alarm I had set before. That one I have to get up and turn off. One day I did a 180 and went right back to to bed but the other days it was working. Need to reset that tonight.

Peg

Tracy 07-02-2009 12:01 PM

Hi Peg, :welcome2:Marbear,
Elliptical 60min.:yay:Still keeping on!:D

marbear24 07-02-2009 12:11 PM

Thanks :)

I've been getting up at 5:30 to go to the Y to swim before work. I hope to get there 6 days a week, including M-F. it's the M-F I have a problem with, as it's way earlier than I have to get up on the weekends. I've been quite good since I started (Saturday)- but the first few days are always fine for me, and then I just go down hill. I need to get up and get moving!

TaraLee 07-02-2009 01:53 PM

I'm definitly in.
I don't get up as early as some of you (there's a 4am? wow!). I've been getting out of bed about 9am. Its summer so I don't have to be up early to get my son to school but I'd still love to be up at 7am so I can work out before my kids get up (doing crunches with a 16month old baby using me as a bump n jump is NOT making the workouts any easier)!
My goal... up at 7am workout/shower done by 8am. When school starts I'll need to move this up 2 hours!

Tracy 07-02-2009 02:25 PM

:welcome2:Tara Lee,
This thread has really helped get me moving.I did not exercise at all b4.I get to sleep later in the summer too!:yay:I don't think I was ever up at 4:00am in my whole life!

p7eggyc 07-02-2009 07:45 PM

Oh, yeah! I'm so glad to see you both. I'm getting up tomorrow by gum, I am. I'm going to get up for sure! :)

Peg

marbear24 07-03-2009 08:16 AM

Got up, swam, came to work.

Tomorrow I get to sleep in by default. The Y is closed, so I can't get up and go swimming :). I'll exercise, but at home on my elliptical so it doesn't matter when I get up. However, given my pattern up waking up before 6:00am - I think sleeping in my only be until aroun 7:30. Ha.

Tara - Hi! :)

p7eggyc 07-03-2009 09:00 AM

Great job MarBear!

I'm up...an hour later than I'd really like but still a solid 90 min before I absolutely had to get up which is when I'd normally get out of bed so I'll take it! Need to work in 45-60 min worth of exercise today. Cloudy and threatening rain right now so not sure when I'll do it but I will.

Peg

Tracy 07-03-2009 09:50 AM

Hi ladies,
I am getting a very late start today.Marbear,I am jealous, you already got your workout in!;)
I will be back later w/exercise update!:woops:
Have A Great day!And A terrific Holiday!!!!

p7eggyc 07-03-2009 06:44 PM

Got a 40 min walk in...whew, got so sweaty I had to shower again. That's why I need to walk in the morning!

Peg

Tracy 07-03-2009 07:06 PM

60 min.elliptical:)

p7eggyc 07-04-2009 10:59 AM

Didn't get up until 7:30 :( but am headed out for my hour walk route right now. Going to cheer for the little bike parade and then head out.

Peg

ETA: Back...was 64 min walking and I did 24 min of yoga when I got back!

marbear24 07-04-2009 11:35 AM

Didn't wake up until 11:00. Oooof. I had panned on taking the day off b/c the Y is closed anyway, so it's not like it derailed my plans... but still ooooof.

Tracy 07-04-2009 12:29 PM

60 min. elliptical

p7eggyc 07-05-2009 10:07 AM

Tracy, you are just rocking along. How many days in a row is this? You should be so proud of yourself and know that I am too! Marbear....I haven't slept that late in a long time but I used to love a lazy morning like that. :) Hope you had a good rest of your day.

I did not get up until 7am but my exercise plans are later in the day (going to ride my bike with a friend to an arts festival) so that's not a problem but I'm sure struggling to establish this wake up time. I didn't get to bed until almost 11pm though so I knew I was sort of doomed this morning. I'm not sure what to do about this whole strategy but I'm going to try again this week at least because it's supposed to be really hot and I'm going to have to get exercise in the morning because I know I'll hate doing it later in the day in the heat.

Peg

Tracy 07-05-2009 01:14 PM

Thanks peg, I started a day or two after w/you started this thread almost 3 weeks!:yay:I can't believe it myself.Good Luck w/your exercise plans this afternoon. I am getting a late start today too!I did not exercise yet. Hope to soon.
Have a good day everyone!:)

marbear24 07-05-2009 01:19 PM

Another late start... this time 10am. I think it's the allergy medicine I've been taking the past few days - it kicks my butt! I did walk 4 miles today so I made up for it, and sleeping in didn't derail my plans so it's not that big of a deal I guess. We'll see how tomorrow morning goes!
Enjoy the rest of the weekend!

Tracy 07-05-2009 06:54 PM

50 min elliptical

marbear24 07-06-2009 07:47 AM

Woke up today, went swimming. I was a bit late so I only got 20 minutes in - but I went - which is a small victory - yes? I'll probably hit the elliptical later or go for another walk. We'll see.
Have a great day.
