  • I'm between doctor's appointments right now.

At the first visit today at my endocrinologist's office, I met with a practitioner before the doctor. He was really cool, easy to understand and talk to and seemed very interested in trying to find a way to help me. He wasn't sure what they could do there, but it turns out he also works 3 days a week in my OTHER doctor's office!

My vitamin D levels are really low. They were normal last visit in April, but they've dropped too low again this time. They've doubled my dose of prescription vitamin D.

Cholesterol and thyroid levels are normal. Blood pressure is good. Glucose was high by 2 points. They didn't do the full insulin panel last week, but I had that done today when they had to do a hepatic panel on my liver.

My liver enzymes were high. They're worried there might be damage or something, so I had to get blood done for that. The practitioner also sent me with a note to my GP's office to get an ultrasound of my liver which will be happening in 30 minutes. I had time to have lunch with DH, though, since I can't get to my office on the other side of town.

Since the practitioner from this morning also works at my GP's office, I can have my ultrasound follow up with him. I should be able to try to get some other things looked at through him at that office as well. He also wants to look at the meds I'm on for depression/anxiety and sleep and see if he can't find something better.

I'm worried about the liver thing cause I don't really know anything about any of that. I think I got the idea that it could be related to my lifestyle changes for losing weight, and if it's a fatty liver issue (as opposed to liver damage), it could work itself out as I lose weight.

The Cushing's test that they ran in April came back normal, though. So that's 2 different tests for that that came back normal which is good.

Also, to finish up my rambling, I'm down 10.5 pounds from April according to the doctor's office scale, and you KNOW how those things are!! I went last in early April, about 3 weeks before I started WW. That's only about a 1 pound difference between the two. Feeling good about that! My grandmother commented on it this morning, too, and I wasn't sure she'd even noticed!

After the ultrasound, I'm going to get my hair cut and colored for this weekend and then I'm going to try to go swimming at my friend's house!
  • Hi girls!
Posting really quick just to let you know I'm still alive. Just finished my WO and I have to run to the shower. I will attempt to try and sort of catch up with you all later today.

Glutio: Good luck with that ultrasound, hope the liver is OK!
  • OK I am back I just can't post in #29 Glutio I am so sorry you are going through such a hard time. I know it is emotionally draining. I know that depression can be caused from not knowing what's going on with your body when your in pain, ect. I have been there. Girl just hang in their and don't let the doctors put you on any depression meds till you find out what the real problem is. Just finding out what the problem is can give you such relief. I am so proud of you for lossing the weight despite the problems you are having.
Remember God is their with you at your deepest darkest hours and I pray that he will give you peace and healing.
  • hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii again, it is working now!!!!!! Okay girls, I didn't know what was wrong with the thread and as we were nearing 500 posts I went ahead and made a new continuation thread for us so feel free to move on over there anytime. I posted my post in the new thread as I cou ld not submit here.

An update on my news. I was real busy this past week getting ready for Sunday. Cooked up quite the feast and I am so glad my brother and his family m ade it over too. Though the weather was still lousy we had a marvelous time and multiple celebrations! lol. Fathers day was Sunday (hope you all had a lovely day and weekend) our anniversary was yesterday, and my brothers birthday is today! We put candles in the cake and sung happy bday to my brother. It was all very nice. I recouped yesterday.

It felt so nice though that the house is all clean and I am all set to go out and play when the good weather finally arrives. On the news last night, they were saying we have only had 5 days of sun this June! We are in some funky jetstream and this is unusual for June here in Mass , though anything is possible in new england! We are due for sun thurs. and most likely will start our summer...finally! I was thankful to have the party sunday, I was busy all week prior to it preparing and the weather didn't bother me so much.

Planwise, I really was strict OP all week and doing very well. Come Sunday I ate but did not overdo it.....I had some beef which i had not had all week and even bread. I ate but in moderation. I didn't have any of the cakes or greek cookies. I did finally peek at the kitchen scale and don't see a loss which was a bit suprising to me but then again it is right after the party and I am fortunate to have maintained so I am happy with that...for now. It's a good thing I am strict between these event and thus able to maintain and not gain. Nothing else much new here girls. Waiting for the sun thurs. , my DH is planning to take friday off so that is great news. My parents are taking us to dinner THurs. night for a late anniv. dinner. Hmmmmmm, not much else. My dad wasn't feeling so good so I was a big upset but we are pretty sure it's the antibiotics that are doing it and yesterday was his last day of them. He is going in for a repeat blood test and if I see this continue beyond another day or two.......I am prompting them to go in sooner.

oh goody, thats them, one sec. All is okay on the homefront! He is much better today and it must of been the medicine. They had some more good news as well so gooooooooood, lol : ). Okay chicks, I need to go do a few things. I am going to post this in the other thread too.......sorry for any confusion. Have a super day and keep up the great work
  • Girls, I copied and pasted my earlier post here. I posted it in our new continuation thread. Blondie and I are now able to post here so hopefully the thread continues to run smoothly. We can move over to the new thread as we near the 500 mark and/or our thread starts to not run optimally. Chat soon

Hiiiiiiiiiiiiii chickiesssssss Lot's to catch up on. I went back several pages to catch up the past few days. First and foremost, congratulationsssssssssssss on the losses girls :chee r2:

Lewis,,, I'm glad the pup is okay, that must of been such a scare, whew! Delphi and crazymama, nice fridges you guys got there too funny! It was so much fun reading all of your news. Lene, thanks girl..., same here. MsP, hope you have a fabulous time away with hubby. To our crazymama, jacqui, jacquee, urock, newshiny, Lea.......and to all of your girlsssssss a big hello and a big Jacquee, awesome pics you posted, ty for sharing with us. You look great oh and nice thong sandals in that sexy pic of yours . Your bedroom looks real cool, great job. I'll be catching up with you all.....I'm glad everyone is well.

crazymama, so sorry I havn't gotten back to you sooner regarding the fish recipe. I measured foryou last time and this is what I came up with. Preheat oven to 400. For 2 large haddock filets.....in a pan I put 3 TBS. butter, 1/4 cup white wine (I used toasted head chard, its excellent) and 1 freshly squeezed lemon, plus a pinch of ground rosemary spice. In a pan, combine these ingredients and just warm it up a bit until it blends. Take some of the juice mixture and generously coat a small pryrex casserole pan. Cut the fish into 2 or 3 peices, folding over the tail peice so that it is the same height as other peices to ensure even cooking. Coat the fish pieces on both sides in the casserole pan. Then evenly pour over about 1/2 roll crushed ritz crackers (I use the rolling pin) on the top, after take a spoon and evenly spread the juice over the top of the fish. Sprinkle a little more lemon on top. Place the fish in the oven (baking shelf, on bottom...one above lowest rack) and time it. You will cook it between 20-25 minutes. That's the trick to fish, a few minutes under or over makes a world of difference. Oven temps do vary as im sure you know. Take it out at 20 and check it. When it's cooked just right it flakes a bit when you check it with fork (fresh stuff does moreso) and that it's no longer transculent but white. It should taste tender.....you can usually tell by looking but it you try a little bite and it tastes not quite tender or a little tough, put it in the oven another 2-3 minutes.......no more than that and then take it out and check it. The recipe I gave you , you can play around with. I have made so many different variations of it and have gotten away with as little as 1tsp. or Tbs. of butter , even added a tiny bit of olive oil, more lemon...etc. Also you can vary the amount of crusshed ritz cracker you put on the top. It is so good like this, if any of you try it let me know how you like it okay?

    I better post this brb

  • Small loss this morning, I am holding on to water because of the harder workouts plus TOM coming on. In-laws are coming in in about an hour so I will be scare for awhile.. we don't actually know when they are leaving which is a little scary Glad to hear about all the losses Hope you all have a great rest of your day! Don't forget that water, especially with the weather heating up most places!
  • Hey Ladies...

    Lauren - Awesomeness!

Susie - Good for you hun, vitamin B is great for so many things, you might really notice a difference in your moods too! Congrats on getting over the hump!

Glutio - glad you're getting at least some answers sweetie, I'll hope for the best with your remaining stuff!

NSM - at least you're still working out and getting 'er done, good for you!

FSA - So wow, you're a bit busy, glad you're eating great and I hope dh is on the mend.

    Gotta run, burning dinner....

    Ok back

Ms P - I hear you on that scale it's hard to go away from home, I'm having a bit of anxiety about that myself but we know how to do this! WTG getting in your exercise while away too.

Crystal - I'm not sure about having undetermined stays for in-laws. I think that's against the rules of coupledom, I would double check but I leant out my handbook Stay sane, even the nice house guests need to leave so that everyone can remain friends lol.

Just finished mowing half the lawn, took about 2hrs, 35 minutes, it's a new speed record. I added it to my fitness log and supposedly it comes up at 1100 calories. I think that may be a load of hogwash, but it was hard and I'm exhausted but that seems a little excessive for calories, I mean if that were the case I might just do it everyday!

Oh and sadly it's that time again, I almost killed dh by pushing him off the deck when he said something innocent enough, "I'll do that a bit later, hun" and I almost ate my young when she tried to throw her toy at my head...you guessed it PMS. Ahh how I missed it. But a few days of trying to maintain some level of even tempered disposition and then a week of not being able to loss a pound! But I won't trade it for the world!

Hope everyone had an awesome night and only a few more days till this one is in the bag!
  • Tummy ~ I heard the Imperial March theme when I started reading your post. I could feel the impending doom . Oh poo, and right here at the end of the month. Dang him! Oh and the calorie burn for lawn mowing, is off a bit. I didn't burn as much as the calculators told me I did, but here again, we are all different and burn at different rates.

Crystal have fun with your in-laws and hang in there.

    Jacque
    ~ Too funny!

MsP ~ Good to hear from you. Glad to hear your getting exercise and having a great time.

FSA ~ Good to hear dad is feeling better. Moreover, that you are to. Sounds like you have been really busy lately. I hope things slow down for you soon.

Glutio ~ I hope everything turned out alright.

NSM & Blondie ~ Hey ladies!

    Alright...

    Good Morning Ladies

I gotta roll out and get my butt in gear. I'll stop by and check in a little later. You ladies have a spectacular day and remember those smiles.
  • Good Morning Ladies
    Made goal.

I'm down 2 lbs. this morning and that puts me 1 lb. past my June goal
    Yippie!

  • I lost 2.6 lbs this morning! Putting me back at my lowest so far! I am so happy. I've been trying to follow TBL workout that they have set up with one day cardio, one day strength and everyday I feel like I am dying ,but it is worth it when I see those numbers dropping. I should probably get out and do the workout before the in-laws wake up.. it is so weird not to have the house to myself and workout when I please. Okay, enough procrastinating, here I come Bob.
  • Good Morning Ladies,

Delphi - It would be so nice to have one of those handy devices but they don't sell them up here. I'm not terribly sore today either so it's all lies!! But it's for the best I did have my running this morning and really sore muscles would not have been my friend. Your exercise routine is crazy girl! And God help me, I feel the impending doom too.

Susie - Past your goal baby!!

Jacque - Have a good day chickie.

    Crystal - That's fanflippintastic! 2.6! and a big

Down another 1/2 pound today! Running was fantastic today, there's always those workouts every now and again that just seem like the easiest thing you've ever done, almost like someone else did it for you, those are awesome. But they are usually followed very closely by the workouts that are a struggle every step, ying and yang I guess. But for today I'll take an easy one.

Time to get the suitcases down and start figuring out waredrobes for everyone for our excersion. My dh's best friend called yesterday and it turns out we're going to have some houseguests on July 5-8 (and yes Crystal I needed to know when they were leaving ) We only get back late on the 1st, sheesh, no rest for the wicked. So I guess that interrupts my plan to let the grass go to seed on the other half of the lawn until we get our riding mower back. Darn guests, gotta make the place look presentable. 2 1/2 hours here I come!

Have a fantastic hump day all!
