  • FSA- Thanks for all the kind words. Glad to hear the weather is improving. It's been pretty nice here, but I guess this week there's a chance of rain every day but one after today. The weekend with DH was amazing. Just how I hoped it would be. I got some new undergarments...sadly because I went down a cup size. I'm like 'please! not the chest!! anywhere but the chest!!' But away they go anyway! LOL Oh well, it's fat gone.
  • FSA!!
    I found you woman!
I'm in for the June challange!

  • Lekhika! I've added you to the list, although I still need to know what your goal(s) will be! Glad to have you! Good luck!

    Thanks, ladies, for your support.
  • Hey girlies!!!

MsP~ Oh it sounds like you had a lovely weekend! Hey, if you want some extra boobs--I'll be happy to give you mine!! I'll even overnight them to ya! :lmao: Ahh...if only. Mine are shrinking and I hope they continue to! Dh isn't in agreement, but he doesn't have to lug these things around!

Couch~ congrats on the loss!! I giggled when I read 'lollies', my mind immediately went to Charlie & Lola (it's Disney show for kidlets for those of you who don't know) and an episode where they got ice lollies. My kids love to ask for ice lollies now.

Tummy~ oooh lookin' GOOD! Amazing what a difference in those two pics! Super smart of you to wear the same shirt too--you can really tell the difference! Yeah, I'm not a big fan of chunky fruit of any kind in my food. If I want chunks of fruit, I'll eat chunks of fruit. Hubby thinks it's insane that I've never had cherry pie--the very though just makes me get all heeby jeeby. I'm also one of those loons who doesn't like chunky jam/jelly or fruit chunks in my yogurt...oh the list goes on and on...

Glutio~ sounds to me like you did really well at that cookout! Dang those pecan pralines!!! Not fair! Yeah, I would have made sure those things got sent home with someone--I don't know if I could resist them. I'm starting to feel like my strength is waning a bit with the sweets--I'm starting to contemplate having them or a little taste of this or that...I haven't yet, but the fact that I'm thinking about it is making me nervous. Okay, so hope you get to the gym today, be sure to drink your water too! Any news on hubby's interview and if they're flying him out?

Lauren~ GL on the WI tomorrow!!!!

Nello~ Woo hoo! Congrats on the loss!

FSA~ WTG staying OP all weekend! As for not working out, sometimes we just need a day or two off! That's one of the reasons I put a day off in my routine--I just didn't want to get burned out and I knew I needed the down time. Glad to hear your weather will be better the rest of the week! Wish I could say the same, it's supposed to be cloudy with a chance of rain all week. The weekend is supposed to be okay, but we'll see.

    Lekhika~ Welcome aboard!!!

Well girls, I am officially all done gardening. I can't take it anymore! If I have to shovel one more shovel full of dirt or dig one more hole I'm going to scream! I managed to plant all the plants for the newly prepped bed, moved some stuff from around the veggie garden to another new bed, planted some new plants, moved a gianormous ornamental grass to another spot in the yard where I had removed other stuff (which got replanted elsewhere) and oh, dug another freakin' hole in hard clay...ugh...I'm so tired! There's still stuff to plant too! I don't wanna do it I tell ya! Unfortunately, today is the only nice day weather-wise so I kind of have to. We might be having people here Saturday (we're still not sure) and hubby wants the yard all nice and tidy since that's where we'll be...easy for him to say, he's not here!!! I could just that boy!!!

Anyway, at least I'm getting exercise right? Right.

Now I gotta clean the house! Nothing makes my house more of a wreck than spending all weekend doing yard work! Still haven't figured that out yet...we're not in the house, yet the house gets trashed...Hmmm...

Okay ladies, just thought I'd check in and say hi! I'm off to turn on some Dave Matthews (real loud) and get to cleanin'!!!! Hope everyone is having a great day!!! And that you're drinking your water like good little chickies!
  • Hey girls I am back from a wonderful time with my hubby this weakend. I don't know what came over me but I totall lost control over my eating habits. For 5 weeks I pretty much did not have any sweets or breads or potatoes. Then I lost control Friday night. I did get a chance to work out 2 times but I haven't dare to get on the scale until tomorrow morning. I am trying to break the cravings I gave into this weakend.
  • Quote: Jacque~ Oooh, pictures! I do hope you'll take some, I love to see progress pics and before and after pics!! Do it, do it, do it!! Hee hee, don't ya love peer pressure?
    and Tummy Girl

I'm feeling the pressure....maybe we will take pics tonight!!!

Quote: Jacqueeeeee, congratulationssssss on meeting goal girl :carr ot: Great job chicky and congrats on the new swimwear too!

Only met part of my goal....gotta wait till the end of the month to see if I actually lost any inches.
  • Jacque ~ If you feel more comfortable, just post them here, but I think you should post in the goal forum. Just a thought. But whatever works for you. I'm sure you look hot.

    Blondie ~ Welcome back!

Master Yoda ~ Hey you! I bet you are glad you got all that stuff done. Good for you and yeah I know what you mean about the house. Those weekends we are outside, nothing gets done around the house. I love me some Dave Matthews. You rock on!

    Lekhika
    ~ Welcome aboard dear!

MsP ~ I'm trying your packet idea. Got em in the oven as I type. I'll let ya know how it goes. Oh and welcome back.

FSA ~ Hey ! Well it sounds like you had an eventful weekend as well. Missed ya around here. Anywho, no worries about the no exercise, I'm sure you got more than enough, just with all the day to day stuff. You are doing fantastic.

Nello ~ on the dropage. Keep going!

Glutio ~ Wow, all that food talk, had me getting hungry. All and all sounds like you guys had a great time.

Tummygirl ~ , I'm so glad I'm not the only one around here doing the "Rocky" dance. I think we all need to unleash our innerRocky..eh? You look great and you are working so hard. It is definitely paying off.

I think that's about it. Sorry if I missed anyone. Oh Couch, on the loss. Keep up the good work.

Not to much to report on my end. Been at it all day. Got a GREAT strength training session in this afternoon and went to the store and actually purchased a cheap set of measuring cups. Finally. So now, I can even deepen the weightloss OCD I have. Alright, you ladies have a good one and I'll check in later.

    Urockmom and supachix
    ...we miss you!
  • Good afternoon friends!

Hope you all had a great weekend! I did DH and I decided to take a couple of days off from the house hunting madness and we just did stuff for ourselves including just lounging and doing basically nothing yesterday (after my workout that is).
Thank you all for your advice on the hunt too. I will take my time, although I am with CMO4 and already getting tired of it (it's only been a month though).
The eating went pretty well during the weekend, although I did eat out a couple of days last week (made good choices) and the scale did go down, but not as low as I was hoping for. The good news is, I finally managed to lose 30 lbs! It took me nearly 6 months to get from 20 to 30 lbs, but hey..I will take it. At least it means that I can actually eat the way I am eating now long term and see results.

FSA: You finally got your fish! Yay!. Glad to hear you are finally back to your old self and that the sun is out!

    Lene: hope you're feeling better!

Jacquee: A bikini! You are my hero girl! I would love to see those progress pics.

AtlGirl: I hear you! At the beginning of my plan I had to get rid of all the junk food in the house. That truly helped me stay OP. Luckily, I think I have gotten used to my new way of eating so that now I can have some of it around and stay away from it or have a reasonable portion.

CMo4: So glad to hear that you are done with your gardening and yard work! Sounds like extreme gardening is a great workout anyway, but I am sure you'd like to actually get to enjoy the fruits of your hard labour, right? Congrats on the losses too!

Delphi: LOL at the turkey story! Did you manage to cook it in the end? Hey how about booking a trip to Vancouver to help me move my furniture around when I move? Oh and you my friend are a machine! So just keep doing what you're doing and the scale will have no choice but to listen to your command! I am not sure about the diet coke. Some people say diet drinks stall their loss. I tried not having any for about a month and I saw no difference (I only drink about 1 a day max.)

Tummy: Thanks for the advice, your falling ceiling story is really sticking with me Seems like the market is starting to go up again, so we'd better hurry! Looks like your summer will be jam packed with fun stuff and travels so that you can stay on track! WTG on the loss too I will be looking for those pictures.

Glutio: Your story about the Macaroni Grill reminded me of this thing I read a few months ago: http://www.dailyspark.com/blog.asp?p..._foods_of_2008

Susie: A loss is a loss in my book Oh and I think you'll like the Strength Training part, it is actually my favourite part of working out!

Jacqui: I like your attitude! Doesn't it also feel like you lifted a weight of your shoulders when you realize that you have not blown a diet or fallen off a wagon? It's just a fact of life that we will be faced with less than ideals food for the rest of our lives and all we have to do is just keep moving in the right direction.

Shari: ugh! Sorry you went through that! I am so bad with directions and I am always scared I am going to get lost if I am on unfamiliar territory. Glad to hear you are alright though and that you didn't actually faint!

Ms. P: did you have fun? tell us everything! Oh and that 0.5 lb is probably nothing.

Couch: That 100 kg. mark is so close! keep going!

    LaurenA: Good luck tomorrow!

Nello: Congrats on the loss! It's always easier to stay on track when you have someone there for support

    Welcome Lekhika!

Blondie: glad to hear you had fun. You can get back on track!

Ok...I think I got to everyone
  • Delphi, we did have a lot of fun. If we don't move first, you should make the drive next time! It's only 3 hours!

NSM, I saw something VERY similar to that with different fast food/restaurant items recently. Makes me glad DH always ordered those pancakes at IHOP and I only had a bite!

Official WW weigh-in has me up 1 pound from last week. I firmly believe it is ALL in my intestines! I'm really not fond of this whole constipation ordeal and may be looking in to a laxative soon. It does seem to be related to the times I eat too much, or at least when I eat out. I'd still rather not have to suffer with feeling bloated.

  • Hey girls! It's me again, being a blatant mulitiple poster!

Blondie~ well, it sounds like you had a great time this weekend--now enough messing around and kick those cravings to the curb girlie! GL on weighing in, hopefully you'll be pleasantly surprised.

MasterDelphi~ Woo hoo on the measuring cups! Good for you! Now I expect to hear all about the culinary creations you start whippin' up in the near future k? DMB Rocks my socks! I love that man!! I've seen him a few times in concert--one time I was front row center! Hubba, hubba!

NSM~ I bet that taking a little break will do wonders for you! Take this time to make a list of must haves and re-sort your priorities. How's your realtor? I hope good, having a bad realtor can make house hunting a nightmare!! I am totally ready to kick back and relax in my yard, but, I know that I'll just keep planting and ripping stuff out all Summer long. We have a pretty big yard that is oddly shaped and no privacy fences (hardly anyone does out here) and I'm trying to create as much privacy as I can since a fence isn't in the budget anytime soon. But, at least I got a lot done today.

Glutio~ I hear ya! I'm still having issues...how much more fiber can a girl eat? Sheesh!

So guess what?! While I was doing all that grueling yardwork, I found a duck egg! This is the second one I found (the first one was behind our shed and it's a bad egg--woofy! Smells so bad!!) and I think that mama must have laid it in the big grass thingie I moved. So I just set it down while I was planting the new stuff and ignored it figuring it was a bad egg too. I noticed it was a little cracked on one end and I figured it was from falling out of the grass when I dug it up and hauled it out. Fast forward to tonight...

Hubby gets home and we all go outside to look at the fruits of my labor and I show him the egg. I pick it up, give it a shake--why I did this, I don't know--and then I'm holding it in my palm and I feel it moving! There's a baby duck in there and he's trying to get out!! Dang it all, and here I am shaking the poor thing! Ugh...Anyway, we haven't seen any ducks in our yard at all lately (they used to come every night) so we're thinking the poor guy is abandoned.

I told the boys we could keep it and watch it hatch but then it needs to go to the Wildlife Rescue. Hubby suggested keeping it in the garage in a box with a lamp on it and I said, "nah, we can keep in the boys' room on the desk with the lamp"--girls, you should have seen my oldest! I thought he was going to pee his pants! He is over the moon that they have a real live baby duck hatching in their room!

We don't have pets, can ya tell? So, I'm sure they'll be camped out by the box all night. The little guy is just in there poking his bill up every now and then and peeping every once in a while. I can't wait to see the kids faces when he hatches completely!

Okay, well, better get going. We need to check on Eggbert. Please keep your fingers crossed that it doesn't die or that I didn't cause him any harm by shaking him...poor little thing! *gulp*

Hope everyone had a great day and is having a wonderful night!!
  • Master Yoda ~ Oh wow! I'd been freakin' out if it started moving in my hand and probably would have dropped it. I bet the kiddos are excited. Good for them.

Glutio ~ Hey that sounds like a plan. There are a few of us that are from TN, we should all do like a 3fc mixer or something.

NSM ~ Nope, through that poor turkey away. Good for you for taking some days off with the house hunting. I know it can be draining. I do hope you guys find something soon though.

Ladies, I feel great. Not sure if I've had a great day or what, but man I just feel great..simple as that. Just thought I'd share ....here is a little information about water retention.

If you're retaining water and looking for a natural way to help minimize or eliminate this problem, then read this article to find out why you may be retaining water and what you can do about it.
In most cases, if you don't drink enough water, your body is forced to retain extra water because it thinks there's a situation where it won't get enough water in the future. So whatever water you do get, it hoards. It's a self-protection mechanism so you don't die.
The body can't store it's own water... it needs a constant supply and resupply of water to function. This is how you stop retaining water... by drinking enough of it. But wait. Don't over-drink and gulp down water in big doses. You'll want to drink a little water often instead of a lot of water not so often so the water doesn't just pass through the body without adding any benefit to you.
So just sip water throughout the day. That's ideal.
Don't forget that fruits are high in water content also. Fruits such as apples, grapes, and grapefruits are the best choices. "Eating" water is just as good as drinking it.
So how much water is ideal for you?
Divide whatever your weight is by 2... that's how many ounces of water you should drink each day if you want to stop retaining water. This is probably nothing new to you. Very basic stuff.
One last thing... whenever possible, drink filtered water since our water supply has so many harmful metals and substances floating in it.
So basically, just drink a lot of water in small doses each day in order to stop retaining water.

Alrighty, I'm off to bed. I'll talk to you ladies tomorrow. Have a great evening!
  • MasterDelphi~ haha, yeah, well, I think shaking the poor thing was enough trauma--can you imagine if I had dropped it? Oh my...the kids would have just went crazy with concern!

Hey now, I'm not *that* far from TN, if there's a 3FC Mixer, I wanna go!
  • HI girlssssssssssss Just came in and read all your news!

Lekhikaaaaaaaa, wb girl!!!!!!!! So glad you popped in and found us over here. Been thinking of you. THanks again, I will share your turkey chili recipe with the girls when I dig it up! lol. It's summer now but hey you never now, that chili may help out and be a nice change of pace. So nice to have you back.

Girls, Lekhika and I were on the journey together back in 2007. Never told you the history of the thread but have been meaning to. After awhile when my dad had the heart attack I left, for a long time. ANyhow, I watched Lekihika kick butt those months and lose the weight as you are doing now girls. When I came back, I tried to find some of the girls and wondered how they were as we had lost touch (that's why I said about the emails that day and I've been a slacker, sorry, I'll get to it). I noticed (upon my return)that a lot of the habitual posters and those who stuck around on 3fc either reached goal and/or had great weight loss. Anyhow, after the family emergency the girls kept the threads running a long time and stuck together which was awesome. I'm glad we started them again, boy am I! There I go again! lol.

MsPerception, hi there . That's great that you and DH had an amazing time! I'm glad. You know something, I think mine are a little smaller too but they look better! Less fat (just like you said) getting the nicer shape back. Ohhhhh, I have been doing chest pressess with the free weights (plus the other s.t I do is helping too) but those chest presses are great! Awesome for building up the pecs and lifting the girls! lol I bend my elbows and hold my arms out to my side at a 90 degree angle and then bring my elbows in infront of me until they touch....and repeat. I loveeeeeeee the burn I get from those. Ha!!!!! Miss "I love the burn" better start her exercises again

By the way chicks, Delphi, crazymama....etc. thanks for helping me to feel better about missing the workouts recently. I honestly was looking at the changes I am seeing from the workouts and it's all good so I'll work on getting to it. I felt bad..........jeez. THanks you guys Your real sweethearts, u all are.

Jacqui, hi there! Hope your having a good night. I'm glad your here jacqui How are the pups doing?

Crazymama, again ty for those words. OMG, I started laughing with the too funny! If DH could see that one! lol. I so know what you mean about the indoor work versus the outdoor work. Good for you getting all that done, yeahhhhh that sounds like plenty of exercise alright. Now that the weather is clearing up again I am going to need to get out there too as I want the place to look nice Sunday too and I havn't finished my gardening. Saving the cleaning for the cloudy days this week. OMG crazyyyyyyyyy, what a story about the duck! wowwwww. OH wow! Keep us posted and most definitely good luck to the little ducky.

Hi blondie, nice pic....thanks for sharing Good for you for getting right back to it. That has happened to me before too, it's really wild.....I can't predict which way it will go (total control or setting off cravings again) so I have just learned to get right back to it and the sooner the better! It's nice you got away for a weekend with DH and it sounds like your right back on track so wtg!

posting in fear of losing the post, brb
