Welcome Wistfulgirl, Nellonello, 100percentME, Dragonfly, and Fattopia! I have added you to the list! Glad to have you! Good luck!
Gatorgirl and Delphi, I have edited your goals on the list!
Fattopia, I'm adding your "60 min of serious movement" exercise goal to the exercise thread list!
Yes, we are definitely "chatty chicks" on this thread, lol! I'd say there are only a few threads on the site that are as active as this one. And the more I post and get involved, the more motivated I stay! This site and especially these two monthly threads are the difference between why I have failed to lose weight over the past 10 years and why I will do it now without a doubt! I'm no longer alone! I'm surrounded by people who understand and who care! They cheer me on, boost me up, make me laugh, and even go "drill sergeant" on me if I need it, all in the most supportive and encouraging way! It's just a great bunch!!

I'm so super excited to join this thread!! I wanted to join last month but I just decided to wait until June so I can have the whole month to start off with my new goals set in mind.
Ok, my weight has been very unsteady this week due to TOM coming up so I'm going to say my goal is to lose 8 to 10 lbs to weigh at least 179
I can't wait till Monday and I just have to say that you ladies are so awesome and I am really looking forward to actively participating in this challenge.

Welcome Kindra! I've added you to the list above! Glad to have you! Ooo, 179 lbs, how exciting!! A new decade! I hope you reach it! Good luck!
Dragonfly, there may be someone on this thread who will take you up on your offer for a diet buddy, so I'm glad you mentioned it here, but you will find lots of support here regardless! However, there is a weight loss buddies thread also: http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/showthread.php?t=165956. Hope this helps!

Another newbie in need of a challenge over here!
I'm aiming to reach my 10% goal (209) by the end of June, or at least my 20 pounds down goal (211.6)...the latter is far more realistic.
Good luck to everyone!

Ooo a challenge!
I'm quite new having just joined yesterday and just started my program today. I'm not entirely sure what a reasonable goal would be for a month. 10lbs seems to be a very popular one. So I'd have to say my goal for the month of June is 1) to stay on program and 2) to loose 11lbs.

Welcome AtlGirl! I've added you to the list! What weight loss program have you decided to follow? Good luck!
Kindra, I just reached a new decade yesterday, so I definitely agree!

I've tried many programs in the past but the one that I've seem to have the best luck with is simply counting calories.
Beyond that, I'm also making myself move every 30 minutes, am now eating breakfast, making sure I get at least 8 hours of sleep, etc. Just little things here in there that will hopefully add up in the long run .

AtlGirl, very smart!! I'm a calorie tracker myself. I started out as a calorie counter, but after I had a good idea of how many calories were in the foods I tend to eat, I stopped counting exactly and now I just track it mentally to make sure I'm not overeating. Plus, I'm eating balanced and healthy foods now. Simple, high-carb foods and I do not get along, but I make sure I get a balance of complex carbs in veggies, fruits, and whole grains, protein in lean meats and dairy, and healthy fats in nuts, seeds, and fish. And my favorite drink of all time, Diet Dr. Pepper, I've finally figured out is an appetite trigger for me, so now I drink just water and hot tea. And with cutting out bad carbs and bad drinks, I no longer have trouble AT ALL with cravings! I'm not tempted to overeat or eat bad foods. It's been incredible! I've also picked up exercising, which I've always loathed, but have developed a much better attitude about! I have to say I REALLY like your idea of simply moving every 30 minutes. I read something recently about making sure you move every 30-40 minutes or so throughout the day, not to stay in a chair or on a couch for too long at any given time. Anyway, with the changes you're making, I think you're going to do great!

Hi All
Of all my postin I have never even looked in this forum till now, go figure, my loss. So I'm going belly up to the bar and go for 11.8, ok, make it an even 12, just as long as the scale starts with a 1, I'm a happy camper. Love the energy over here, you guys are great. Let's get ready to bring it.

girls!
I hope you are all having a good weekend. I'm at work. Little accomplishment yesterday, I actually got up (in the morning!) and went to the gym! It was a hassle, I only have four hours of sleep, the bus ride there was about 45 minutes and the bus ride back was about 70 minutes but I was determined! Did all that and went to work. Now, I just need to get to bed on time and I can make this a habit!
to all the newbies!
