FSA, lol!! Yes, I was just playing!!

CMof4, your description of running on the treadmill like a drunk was so funny!! Lol! But wow, that really is quite a workout!! All the fitness experts advise having fast spurts in your workout, so I bet if you keep it up, you'll begin to notice a big difference! Good for you in pushing your limits!!

Delphi, lol, I'm chatty in both threads!

May 1--Strength trained! Walked! May 2--Walked! May 3--Walked! May 4--Strength trained! Walked! May 5--Walked! May 6--Walked! May 7--Strength trained! Walked! WEEK 1--ALL EXERCISE IN! May 8--Walked! May 9--Strength trained! Walked! May 10--Walked! May 11--Strength trained! Walked!

Jacqui--No, unfortunately, I'm not back online regularly. I'm at my parents for a few days and have access here. At my in-laws I'm still trying to figure out what to do. I don't even think I can do dial-up since they have no local access numbers. (VERY small town) For now I will survive on trips to the library and to my parents'. So SAD!
My workouts are still weird, but getting better. I mentioned at some point soon I'll prob try C25K. We'll see...

May 1st -0
May 2nd-75 minutes step class
May 3rd-75 minutes step class
May 4th-60 min class; 60 min Yoga class
May 5th-60 min body sculpt class
May 6th-60 min Zumba; 60 min Yoga
May 7th-60 min step class

May 8th-30 mins treadmill (4.4)
May 9th-75 mins step class
May 10th-75 mins step class
May 11th-60 mins step; 60 min Yoga

CMof4-Good for you for adding jogging to your treadmill routine. The aerobic insructors at the Y are always pushing mixing up the intensity during the workout. Keeps your body guessing. Since I prefer to "space out" when I jog, I am reticent to mix things up but I end up doing some of that in my step class. It must really help, because my endurance is much better since I started step.

crazymamaof4...that is great...I keep trying to punch up my treadmill workouts too but all I see to be able to do is increase the incline....can't run at all...maybe sort of a jog, but no running. On another note...here's my stats:

May 1st - Did full body circuit at gym...took an hour and a half.
May 2nd - 1 hr of pilates mat class, 20 min of Arc Trainer and 15 min of treadmill (pilates was the only thing on my original schedule)
May 3rd - Usually a rest day, but I feel like I will want to do SOMETHING later. Weather isn't supposed to be great so a walk with the dogs might not be doable. Any suggestions for something easy?
May 4th - 15 min Arc Trainer, 12 min Treadmill, 1 hour of pilates mat class
May 5th - 10 min Arc Trainer, 30 min weight lifting, 15 min bike
May 6th - 15 min Arc Trainer, 12 min Treadmill, 1 hour of pilates mat class
May 7th - Wasn't as intense as I would have liked because of TOM...10 Min Arc Trainer, 40 min upper body

May 8th - Full Body workout - in gym for 1 hour
May 9th - 40 minutes pilates on machine with new higher level dvd
May 10th - Day Off, although I did do about 100 sit-ups
May 11th - 30 min - Arc Trainer, 15 min - Treadmill, 1 hour pilates
May 12th - 10 min Arc Trainer, 35 minutes weight training, 15 bike

Boot camp in a week...and I just read over some paper work she sent us and there are a few times we might have to "drop and give her 20"....for instance, if we are late, don't show up (without prior notice) and, get this....if we talk about or eat, a twinkie, donut, mcdonalds, etc.... This should be interesting...especially for my daughter.

Glad the site is up!
CMo4: lol, you really made me smile. Isn't what you're doing similar to a HIIT workout now? I've only done a little bit of reading about it but I remember it had some component like that.

May 1-10: Exercise days: 5 Exercise minutes: 185
Week of May 11 - 17:
May 11: Weight Loss Yoga 30 min. + Wii Fit Aerobics 25 min = 55 min.
May 12: Free step 30 min + Stability Ball 15 min. = 45 min.

See you on the other thread!

More gardening "exercise" for me today. If you saw what I've been doing, gardening with my mom, you'd totally see how it should count as both cardio and strength training! No Joke!! Anyway, just thought I'd check in...

Ms P ~ Gardening is tough work, I'd definitely consider that exercise, because you burn quite a few calories doing so. Jacque good luck at the bootcamp, it sounds like loads of fun. All of you ladies are doing an exceptional job exercising..keep up the good work!

Daily progress is as follows:

May 2--30 minutes on the treadmill and walked over a mile. Ya!!!

May 4--20 minutes on the treadmill and weight training
May 5--30 minutes uphill on the treadmill [weight training 20 reps each]
May 6--30 minutes on the treadmill [20 reps w/magic circle] [weight training-triceps]
May 7--30 minutes uphill on the treadmill

End of Week 1

May 8--Scheduled day off
May 9--30 minutes on treadmill [20 minutes Wii Fit] [45 minutes Wii Tennis]
May 10--31 minutes uphill on treadmill [45 minutes Wii Tennis] [Weight training-20 reps each]
May 11--35 minutes on treadmill w/3lb hand weights [My Fitness Coach (Wii) Cardio--30 minutes] [30 minutes Wii Tennis]
May 12--40 minutes on treadmill
May 13--33 minutes uphill on treadmill [30 minutes My Fitness Coach Flexibility]

Ms P ~ sounds like you need to come over to my house and do some of your exercise in my yard! Believe me, I could put you to work!!! Actually, I feel guilty just typing that as my yard really needs some work! LOL

May 1st - 30 Day Shred
May 2nd - Strength Training Lower Body & Abs, 30 Mins Treadmill
May 3rd - 30 Day Shred
May 4th - Strength Training Upper Body, 30 Mins Treadmill
May 5th - 8 Min Abs, 30 Day Shred
May 6th - Strength Training Lower Body, 30 Mins Abs
May 7th - 8 Min Abs, 30 Day Shred
End of Week One

May 8th - Strength Training Upper Body, 30 Mins Treadmill
May 9th - 8 Min Abs, 10 Min Treadmill (warm up), 30 Day Shred
May 10th - Spin Class of Terror!
May 11th - Strength Training Lower Body, 30 Mins New and Improved Treadmill
May 12th - 8 Min Abs, 30 Mins New Treadmill WO
May 13th - Strength Training Upper Body, (will do 30 Mins on the treadmill tonight--will update then)

Last night I was supposed to do 30 Day Shred--but I wanted to see if I could do the treadmill again and plus I wasn't in the mood for Jillian. Odd though that I chose the longer exercise routine--odd because a month ago I hated the very thought of exercise! Speaking of which, it's been exactly 4 weeks since I started exercising! I have only had one day off and, not to toot my own horn, I'm pretty proud of myself! It took me a full week of eating right and being committed to losing this weight to actually get motivated enough to start exercising and I'm really surprised I havent' given it up yet--or at least taken more days off!

Anyway, just thought I'd share.

Everyone here is doing such a fantastic job! It's coming here and seeing all you wonderful ladies exercising everyday that inspires me and keeps me motivated!

Okay girls, off to check the sister thread! Keep up the fantastic work girls!!!

Ms_P, once you are finished with your mom's garden and CMof4's yard, you can come do my yard! I am perfectly fine to clean, organize, and decorate inside the house, but I am not a garden/yard person. I wish I were, but I just can't get into it. I am so impressed when I see Lewis and FSA talking about all their flowers and vegetables and hummingbirds, and I'd love to have a beautiful garden, but I just cannot figure out how to want to do the work required. I simply do best with bushes, flowering bushes, perennials, and ground cover close to the house! When it comes to annuals, lots of weeding, or a vegetable garden, I am worthless!

CMof4, you have been doing an amazing job with the exercise, chickie!! You are motivating to me!

Joci, good luck on the bootcamp!! I hope your daughter and you benefit from it greatly!

Hi NSM, Terapet, Delphi , and all our other ladies!! You're all doing such a great job!

CMof4 and Jacqui--Thanks for your generous offers! I am so swamped at my mom's because she is doing her annual plant sale this weekend and we've potted up well over 500 perennial plants...we're actually nearing 600, plus a handful od house plants. Plus, we've done weeding and trimming and all so her numerous flower beds look wonderful when people come. I also garden quite a bit at my own place, but right now we've sold our house and so I'm lending my services to mom until we have our new place done! Maybe I should start a garden maintainance service for those with no time or inclination to do the stuff themselves. HeeHee

Good Morning All,

I watched the Biggest Loser last night. I don't think 117 sounds like a normal adult weight. Wierd. It was for a boat load of money and maybe she is not very tall. Oh well. Good for all of them for taking off the extra pounds.

I have upped my weights a bit in the body sculpt class. It felt impossible at the time but I don't feel too bad this morning so I guess it was probably in line with where I should be.

Ms Perception-Gardening is a ton of work. I have to exercise so I have the stamina to be out there in the heat doing all that heavy work!

CMof4-Congrats on keeping up the great exercise routine under extraordinary circumstances (the 4 children of course). I exercise everyday but my kids are pretty much grown up.

Jacque-Wow, you can't even talk about food porn--that's serious! Good luck with the Boot Camp program.

Okay, so Jacqui, you can come clean and organize my house and Ms. P. can...well, since you're so swamped maybe you can come oversee and tell me what to do to make my yard gorgeous!

I do love gardening--I'm just not so good with WHAT to plant and where, kwim? I have learned that perenials are the way to go for me, annuals may be pretty and all, but seem like a waste of money and time to me. I feel like they're disposable plants ya know? I love buying new plants and trees, but I only want to buy them once--not replace them every year.

The weeding is a pain too, but so long as it's not miserably hot I can deal with it. Last year I ripped out a ton of grass to make flower beds and plant trees--(man, I bet I burned a ton of calories last summer! LOL) this year money is bit tighter so we'll just be sticking to maintaining the beds, getting some fabric paper maybe and some mulch. Unless of course we find plants for an awesome deal and can't pass them up. Haha

Tarapet ~ yeah, I don't think 117 is a normal weight either. I don't watch BL (I've been meaning to) so I don't know who you're referring to, but 117 sounds teensy to me. However, with that said, my sister is 22 and I'm going to say 5'6"-5'7" and is probably 115 (maybe less--it's been a couple of years since I've seen her). She's always been insanely skinny and while in H.S. the school nurse called my mom more than once saying that she was worried that my sister had an eating disorder. My mom just laughed and said, 'the only disorder she has is the inability to gain weight no matter how much she eats!'. My poor sister hates being so skinny and has tried everything to gain weight. She even went to the dr to have tests done to make sure there wasn't an underlying reason for her weight. Nope. She was just blessed with a jack rabbit's motabolism.

Thanks for the congrats--I used to use the kids as an excuse to not exercise but then once I set my mind to it, I found a way. That's why I do my cardio at night once they're asleep--I don't want to risk the girls getting too close to the treadmill when I'm on it or getting into something in the basement (that desperately needs to be cleaned).

Sounds like upping the weights was the right thing to do for you--keep us posted on your progress, I'm curious to see how fast you start seeing a change now that you're using more weight.

Whew! What a novel--sorry ladies!!! Have a fantastic day girls!

Unfortunately, I don't get channel 4 so I can't watch the biggest loser. I really did love watching it and I am by no means a TV person. That does sound very low, but I guess for shorter people it may be healthy? Let us know how up'ing the weights goes for you. I was thinking of doing the same.
