  • Hello everyone, just wanted to check in since I haven't in a while. I've had a stressful week and have had to stay up really late writing papers, which is usually when I end up stress-eating. (Chocolate, of course.) But since I've had my food diary to keep me accountable I've been really good about keeping within my calorie range. It's also pushed me out the door for a few late-night runs even though I felt like I didn't have time for them, because I knew otherwise I would be over my cal limit for the day! I went all of week 2 without chocolate, which was my mini-goal, but I have had it since then. But in carefully measured servings that I could "afford" calorie-wise. So I'm feeling great and have lost 3 pounds, so I'm hoping I can keep up this pace, meet my 5-pound goal for May, and lose another 5 in June.
That's it for now. I love reading all your posts! Have a good night everyone.
  • Delphi, I meant to tell you congrats on your additional 2 lb loss!! Your weight loss has been unbelievable!! Good for you!!

Westtexaschick, great job!! Keep it up, chickie!!

Lene, that's great that you had a fun weekend and got right back OP with your exercise, food and water!!

CMof4, great job on being a smidgeon down in weight! AND for jogging 9 minutes!! Yay!!

Supachix, congrats on your progress so far, and Breawna, WTG on losing 7 lbs!! Woohoo!

    Shari, strippers, woohoo! Party! Lol!

Lewis, congrats on the 1.5 lbs down!! Yay!! Just in time for the cruise!! And true, anyone would be a fool to think about messing with our house, lol! Mastiffs are called gentle giants because they are so sweet and so good with children, but they are also amazing guard dogs, extremely protective.

NSM, congrats! Hey, down is down and is so much better than up!! Woohoo!

SuzyQ, hang in there! We're wishing you the best!!

Ms_P, good luck on getting online with your computer!

Michelle, you are doing so great with the chocolate!! Good for you!! And congrats on the 3 lbs down!

Hi to Joci, FSA, and all our other ladies!
  • Breawna checked out all the congrats coming here way- thanks for including her! I know it makes her feel good- just like it makes us all feel good when someone else recognizes our achievments. :-)
I can't remember who said it, but when we first started someone gave me words of wisdom here about exercising. I keep those thoughts close at hand since Breawna doesn't seem much interested in walking with me. I got my time in today- 20 mins (trying to follow the C25k), although I just can't handle the whole workout of the jogging. It just kills my legs. I have taken to focusing on a telephone pole and jogging that far, not so much time wise. I did measure the area (with my van) I am walking and it is just under 1 1/2 miles so I am really happy with that. By the time I make it back home though my legs are burning!
*feel the burn, feel the burn* lol

Delph Congrats on your 2 lbs gone!

Michelle Only 2 more week and you are over 1/2 way there to your monthly goal- you can do it girl- keep the momentum!

    Hello to everyone else!
  • Thanks SupaChix! Great job pushing yourself with the jogging/walking- focusing on a telephone pole is a great idea, I definitely do that with mailboxes, driveways, whatever to keep me going! Another thing that sometimes works for me is counting steps or breaths...right when you think you have to stop, see if you can go for ten more breaths, etc. Remember that if you push yourself today, it will be easier tomorrow! You'll be up to 3.1 miles in no time!

    Good Morning Ladies!

Superchix ~ Good job on getting your walking in! My motivational quote for the day goes hand in hand with that. You can get through it chicky! Keep up the good work!

Jacqui ~ Hey you! How are you? I saw in the sister thread you "said" you've missed your goal due to the new dog situation. Well hey, that's life, at least it was something beyond your control and it wasn't like you simply avoided it and that is what matters. You have been such an inspiration to me and all the ladies and have made tremendous progress, you just put that day behind you and keep truckin'!

Michelle ~ on the three pound drop! You are doing wonderful. Hopefully those stressful nights will soon be over and you can get more R&R in on those evenings.

Ms.P ~ Good to see you! Hope you get the tech stuff situated soon that we can have the pleasure of your company more often. Keep up the good work!

Newshinyme ~ Hey at least your down and that is what matters. You keep up the good work and keep those positive thoughts handy. You're doing great!

Well, as for me, yesterday was a great day and a huge calorie burner. I'm gonna have this down to a science before long. I'm consumed with feeding my brain with as much information about how the body works. It's all very interesting..oddly! That's simply the geek in me wanting to succeed I suppose. It was so beautiful here yesterday we were able to spend several hours outside goofing off, which was so refreshing. Oh and yesterday I realized my thighs weren't rubbing the baby gate every time I went over it. Hey, it's not a loss, but it's something right? I used to have to grab on to the door frame to get over it and now I'm hurdling over that thing. Ok maybe not hurdling but I'm clearing it with no problem and no assistance. Actually, I gained a pound today, thankfully I don't officially weigh until Sunday. I'm assuming it's muscle as I've cranked up the weight training over the weekend and then yesterday had a really good session. Oh and little piece of information...I read that if your body doesn't get food every three hours it will start feeding off your muscle for energy and the most important meal, is the meal you eat after a work out! That's all I have today! Just throwing random facts out there and rambling, which in hindsight is what I do best. Alright ladies, you guys have a most pleasant and fruitful day, remember to drink tons of water and don't forget your smiles.
  • Good morning girlsssssss,

Sorry I wasn't on yesterday, was a little under the weather and just a crazy day...thank goodness all is well. I lost 1/2 lb. (what I saw I had lost about mid week) and really not sure what is going on with TOM. I am running so late so this is going to be a quickie before the tel people get here. Read all of your posts and just love reading your news.
Breawna, congratulations on the great loss
Congrats to all of you on the losses. Lewisempire, we are going to miss you too! You have an awesome time on your vaca and enjoy yourself. OH I have to go.........ladies keep up the great work. Be back soon to catch up with you all and give you the scoop on me too.
  • Yay! Down another pound here....167.4 which is my all-time low since like college I think!! So excited for that! I also passed my half-way mark and have hit my 6 month mark so I am hitting all kinds of fun milestones on my journey! YIPPEE!!
I did my workout today and just now I got a call that tonight we're doing pizza with friends, so time to prepare myself mentally to stay in control. Wish me luck!
  • K... I finally made some time to check and catch up with you all

    fenderella: Get better soon!

crazymamaof4: Congrats on getting on the 170's!! I hear you on the arms though...mine are the same, I am hoping they get the memo soon and realize they are supposed to start shrinking already!

Delphi: Good job on your losses..you are just melting away! As for the running: While you get to get to onederland to start jogging, you can certainly work on strengthening your quads and hamstrings since they are the muscles that give your knees stability and will prevent injury and pain.
I think nuts would be a good way to add good calories to your day when you are low..a handful would be enough (maybe even throughout the day) and they are nutritionally sound.

lene: Good job on staying OP (or almost hehe) I am sure that on the grand scale of things that bit of alcohol will only be a blip.

Lewis: The cruise sounds like so much fun! Where is are you going?

Breawna: Good job! 7 lbs in May is great, keep it up

michelle: You are so good with measuring the chocolate and getting those runs in, way to stay on track!

FSA: 1/2 lb is a loss and I am sure once TOM decides to show up the weight will come off.

Ms Perception: Yay for that pound and for your new milestones! You can stay in control in with that pizza girl!

I've already worked out toay and I am a bit behind with my eating, but I am sure I will have no problem catching up LOL, gotta run and get things done here, but have a great afternoon/evening everyone!
  • Hi Girlies!
I need to get some cleaning done before my son's soccer practice so this will be semi-short and sweet. I have been doing a great job with staying OP food wise the last 2 weeks. My only infraction was doing 2 shots and it didn't seem to effect me one way or another. I have journaled faithfully since May 1st and have gotten my water in (I think, I'm pretty sure) everyday. I think I'm on a good streak and really hope I can maintain this level of motivation.

newshinyme~ I think you are right about the alcohol being a blip, I didn't get cravings from it and I didn't gain. Sounds like you are doing great, I hope you enjoy the rest of your day too.

Ms. P~ Good luck tonight! Congrats on the 1lb loss!

FSA~ Yay for the 1/2lb loss! I can't wait to hear your update later.

Delphi~ I love your tidbits of info. I normally try to eat every couple of hours but now that I know my body will go after what little muscle I have, I need to be more diligent. Congrats on your thighs not hitting the baby gate The things that make us happy. Take care girl!

Michelle~ chocolate is my weakness, great idea to portion it out. Congrats on the 3lbs and even more importantly feeling great!

Jacqui~ Delphi covered what I was thinking. YOU ARE such an important part of this board. Good luck adjusting to your new furbabies!

Suzy~ It sounds like you are doing pretty good and still have 2 weeks left! Good luck!

Jodi~ I'm so glad you are still committed to your exercise even if Breawna isn't available. You are doing great!
    Breawna~ Wahoo!!!Congratulations on the loss!

Lewis~ Have fun using all those gift certificates! Did you get your hair done today? Great job on losing another 1.5lbs you are going to look great for your cruise.
  • Supachix, you've been doing wonderfully! Jodi, I think it's safe to say that you are full into exercise with no fear of stopping, especially now that you are exercising on your own and are following the C25K, so I have put MET GOAL!! next to your exercise goal in the sister thread!! Congrats!! If you want to set a new exercise goal, just let me know and I'll add it to the list!

Delphi and Lene, that is just so sweet of you to say!! Thank you!! You two are every bit as instrumental to the inspiration of this thread!!

FSA, great job on the 1/2 lbs down!! I hope you are feeling better!!

Ms_P, congrats on the 1 lb loss!! And here is some more for tonight! I know you'll do great!

As for me, I seem to be at a stall since my last weight loss. Hopefully, it will start moving again soon!

  • Hi all

Sorry I haven't been posting. Crazy days and happenings.

My pinched nerve is better but I still have to be careful. Still in PT for it...at least it was NO SURGERY.

My MIL now has dementia and we had to take her to the hospital. From there she went to a nursing home. First for rehab but it looks like she will remain there. This is hard. My hubby and I have not experienced this before. Sometimes she recognizes us and sometimes she doesn't. She thinks she is at a school. Small blessings because if she knew she was in a nursing home she would not be happy.

As if that stuff wasn't enough...
My daughter's car and my car was broken into the other night. They stole sunglasses from my car and a lot of stuff from my daughter's car including a laptop computer. (She never leaves it in her car. The one night she did...)
Apparently 20 cars in our neighborhood were robbed that same night. OOOHHH I would love to get a hold of them!!!

Anyway...Life goes on! I am grateful that through all this stress, I have been keeping to my plan. I have now reached my nine month mark and have delivered a 66 lb baby (fat gone forever). I wanted to get to 100 lbs in a year but I don't think I am going to make that. As long as it keeps going lower, I am happy.

I think I babbled on long enough...
Have fun on the cruise Lewis! Fullsteam you are awesome as always! Lene..you go girl! Jaqui D..Thanks for keeping up with that list! Ms P...you are rockin it! Hooray to the mother and daughter team!!!

    Keep going!
  • HI girls, thought I would try to show some pics of my new "cruise Do" I got hi-lights, and a little more angle added.

  • Hi girls, That was easier than I thought!
Anyway, let me know what you girls think of my new look! As far as our cruise, it is a 7 night Disney cruise to the Bahamas. I am going with my best girl-friend, her MOM, and their 5 girls ages 4-16....YIKES!!!!! Someone better call ahead and warn Them we are on our way.!! We fly out of Knoxville friday, and ship out from Florida on Saturday! I should probably get packed, but I work better under pressure

Hattie! So glad to hear your PN is healing. So sorry to hear about your MIL... Dementia is so difficult. I will keep your family in my thoughts and prayers. With all you have had on your "plate" you must be very proud that you have perservered. That is Fantastic!

Jaqui_D- UGH, I hate the stalls!!!!!! BUT, they usually come before a whoosh! So stay on plan, and hold on tight! I know you can do it!

Lene- A girl has got to do what a girl has got to do!!!! At least you exercised some moderation. Hope you enjoyed yourself! I think you have earned it!

NewShineyme- WTG on working out today!, keep up the good work!

Mrs. P- Wooowhoooo! Nice and steady, you are rocking it! when will you post a new skinnier pic? You must be shrinking!!!! Keep it up girl, you will be at goal before you know it!

Fullsteamahead-Sorry you weren't feeling well, Wishing you a speedy recovery. Thank you for the well wishes, I am gonna do my best to have an all out "FLIPPINFANTASTIC BLAST"

  • Every ceiling, when reached, becomes a floor, upon which one walks as a matter of course and prescriptive right.--Aldous Huxley
    Good morning ladies!

Le ~ You look beautiful!! I love the new do! I'm really tempted to drive those two hours and hop on that plane to floridia with you guys. We will miss you! I'm sending you some to take with you on your trip. Enjoy yourself!

Hattie ~ Awe hun, I'm sorry to hear that. I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. Despite the odd's you still stayed on plan and that is a commendable feat indeed. Keep up the good work!

Jacqui ~ Me too! I'm hopeful that after today I will see that pound back. It almost discouraged me to stop the strength training, but it didn't. Rome wasn't built in a day, so I suppose neither will the masterpiece that lies within all of us. We can do this. Wise woman once told me, that patience is a virtue. Regardless, you're doing great!!!!

Lene ~ Hehe, I have entirely too much time on my hands at times! You can and will keep that motivation train going. You are doing so well with journaling and staying on plan....you are well on your way to attaining your goals.

Newshinyme ~ No nuts for me. I can not eat any type of nuts, but I love me some peanut butter. Thanks for the advice on the quads. I'm thinking maybe the treadmill is giving my lower body a good work out everyday, but I've started a new strenth training program that will incorporate the lower body as well...hence the reason I gained a little this week. I'm working muscles I never new I had, whew!! At any rate, keep up the good work!

Ms P ~ Ya!!! on the drop! You are doing wonderfully! Keep on truckin sweetie!

FSA ~ Awe...I'm sorry you're not feeling well. I wish you a speedy recovery dear.

    Jacque ~ How's bootcamp?

Well I think I managed to get everyone in. Well my boys are officially out of school and yet I still woke up at four this morning. I guess I was afraid, it would throw me off my routine if I didn't get up. I may try to wean myself into a five am time slot though. I still need at least an hour to wake up and then an hour to dedicate to exercise before all the boys wake up. We had a good day here yesterday, loads of fun in the sun and working on a pretty good tan already. I stayed on plan, drank plenty of water and amazingly stayed extremely active and burned over 2500 calories yesterday. I figure I need at least a 1000 calorie deficit a day to lose two pounds a week and I seem to be doing that, so I'm right on track.

You ladies have an excellent day ahead, drink plenty of water and remember to take those smiles with you today!

Oh and on a side note, I think I'll be able to use my signature today...I joined the first and todays the 20th, so I'm excited!
