4/19 - ran 1.7 miles, walked 2 miles
new totals:total/walk/run=36.1/7.5/28.8

It was HOT here today and I stupidly went running outside without a water bottle. Lesson learned.

This week is going to be intense - - I don't know how much (if any) exercise I'll get but by Friday I'll be one step closer to graduating from college!

I hope you ladies all have a great week!

Hi Ladies,

I am so glad not to have to reports multiple zeros although I probably have to miss tonight for something with my daughter.

Jacqui-I am so glad you joined the Y. I love the Y classes. I was sorry to read about your arthritis flare up. You are right to modify your program to avoid the flare ups. Since I am older (50), I often modify what I am doing in a class to avoid injury (or a cardio event :D).

Cake-Running along the water sounds heavenly. Go girl!

Icandoallthings-Well I know where your signature comes from. Congrats on the running, the thesis and the impending graduation.

FullSteam-Good for you racking up all those minutes of exercising.

Good morning, Ladies!! I feel so good today! I got over to the Y at 7 a.m. this morning and had a wonderful walk. I didn't have a pedometer on, but when I got going, I was really booking it, lol, so hopefully I'm back up to speed now! I love the track. It's just so much easier on my joints!

Great job on your exercise, FSA!

I hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Jacqui - Yay for a 7AM workout. Thanks. I hope to reach my monthly weight goal this also....*crosses fingers*

FSA - Yes the run was great. The next weekend I get with no rain I am going back down there. You are really getting those minutes.

Icandoallthings - WTG ....yes, one step closer to graduating. You seem to balance everything so well.

I simply ran two miles yesterday at the gym . For some reason it took everything I had to get those miles out. However I ran 2 miles in 23:27! That is like freaking awesome for me! My usual time is 26:00 and my time outside the other day was 24:00 so maybe I am getting better afterall.

I managed to get a workout in yesterday afterall. I jogged on the outside track instead of my usual step class. It was difficult after all those days off but it is always fun to be outside.

Cake-Congrats for the time improvement. I am always thrilled when I see improvements in my exercise routines. It is definitely why I am so hooked on my Y classes.

JacQui-Glad to see you made it to the Y. Did you walk on an indoor track? Those things are especially welcome when the summer heat and humidity set in.:)

FullSteam-Good Job getting that work in. Keep up the good work!

CakeBatter 04-21-2009 11:26 AM

yeah Terapet it is a nice change just to be outside aside from the pain..,lol And thanks becasue those little improvementd do mean a lot when you know where you started (if that makes any sense)

Ms Perception 04-21-2009 12:16 PM

Great job on all the running and other activities this month! I realized posting minutes is NOT going to happen this month...maybe next month. For now I just wanted to say "hey!" and wish everyone continued success. I'm feeling good and enjoying slow and steady progress here. Wish it was a bit faster, but maybe it'll be like last month and I'll lose a few pounds right at the end!! (I can dream anyway!)

Cake, wow, that's some improvement on your running time! Great job!! :carrot:

Terapet, yes, it is an indoor track. The property the Y is on is too small for an outdoor track, but fortunately it's located right next door to the high school here, and the track there is open to the community. It's been cold and rainy here the last couple of days, though, and the indoor track is so convenient! It can be a little monotonous, going round and round (14 times around equals 1 mile and I walk over 3 miles), and I see others using the treadmills and watching tv while they walk, but the cushioning of the track just feels so much better on my joints, so it's worth it! :running:

Ms_P, good job on the steady progress! Keep going! :cheer3:

UglyFatFriend 04-22-2009 12:37 PM

Hey Ladies, Again im still alive and kickin ha ha. My workout buddy AND myself just both bought houses so lifes have been consumed with Realtors, Lawyers and Banks ha ha. Work outs have been not as frequent but still there!! Hoping to hit the goals still, just may have to increase from 30 mins in the mornings to 45, which i should probably be doing anyway, hope all is well with everyone!!!

Ms Perception 04-22-2009 03:48 PM

Hey ladies, I dropped another pound overnight, so I'm on cloud 9! I don't know what exactly is working, but with the nicer weather we've been walking to the library and playing at the playground a bunch. I've played basketball with my son and hubby several times and hope to start playing tennis soon, once the nets are up on the high school's courts. I also hope to begin swimming laps once we get more organized with our schedules. The community pool here is only open in the evenings during the week which makes it a challenge to make time for it. Oh well, something's working for now, so I can't complain!
