  • I weighed in today at 191.5 for 20.5 pounds lost. I can wait to hit my March goal of 188! Keep up the good work, everyone.
  • Nicki Rose, don't beat yourself up! YOU don't suck, just some of your eating patterns..on weekends!

    So I approach weekends from a different angle. Since I'm around food, bad food that tastes wonderful, all week long at work, I use weekends to get turned around and straightened out. I find on my weekends (which happen to be almost here as I am off Wednesday and Thursday every week) I am able to stay on plan easier and eat less.

    Maybe it's because I'm kind of my own boss those two days. I mean, I have things I have to get done, like this week I have a dentist appointment and a Manager meeting I have to attend, but I also am able ususally to take a few moments here and there for myself and regroup. I try to think about what I am doing and why I am doing it, and get my focus right for the next week.

    Does it always work? No, I have weekends just like some of you where I mess up bad and gain weight. But usually it does work, because I look to those two days to get me back on track. Sometimes it means skipping a meal so I can go to lunch or dinner out, or snack on some treat at the movies. Not what I'd do all the time, but on my days off I generally only eat two meals anyway...I'm more of a brunch and dinner kind of person than a 3 meal a day kind of person, and then the calories/carbs don't make such an impact.

    Anyway, just some thoughts.....no loss today but I've been expecting my body to rest a bit--I'd just like to be under my ticker before Friday if it's possible, so I can still have about half a month to keep losing..
  • Good afternoon ladies I missed you all, I didn't post yesterday and feels like it's been a long time to me. TOM decided to finally officially get here yesterday (after tormenting me for most of last week) so I wasn't up to par but I did find a window of opportunity where I felt well and managed to do some wii aerobics.

    Okay, I hesitantly weighed in and I am down 2 lbs. so far this month. I am very happy to see a loss...particularly now as I didn't know what to expect with tom and all. I will officially weigh in again next Tuesday though I am going to peek on the scale in a few days to see what happens, I am pretty sure I will see a sudden or good drop this week (as long as I stay on current pattern of course).

    Nicki Rose, I am happy to see that you are still with us. I agree with Scarlett, don't beat yourself up too much...the important thing is just getting right back on the horse. Hope your feeling better. The good news is if you put it on quick like that if you go right back OP (and drink plenty of water too) it usually comes off quick so hang in there and keep us posted. The weekend is history now, forget it girl as it's a new day...keep on truckin'

    Scarlett, congrats on losing another lb. As for the weather, tell me about it! lol, omg, it is crazy indeed. We had a storm yesterday and got nearly 6 inches here. It is going to be in the 40's all week though and the sun is stronger now so it will all melt soon enough.
    I think it's great you found a way that works for you regarding the weekends and in general.......I do that type of therapy on myself as well, all the time! Hold onto that and keep up the great work

    urockmom, hey you.......hugs. What you said about the weekends and the reasons you gave etc. those sound like all the reasons I was doing that on the weekends. It was always the blasted weekends that would get me, I would be great all week and then go off plan on the weekends and basically end up maintaining that way and not losing. I remember doing that for one month straight in the past, lol, I finally got so frustrated and through much trial and error quit that and found my niche so to speak....you have been doing great . On vaca you only gained 2 and then lost it! You must of made some pretty good choices, I know your not going to let that weekend get you, kick some butt!

    Msperception, wtg on the 22 lbs. lost so far! THat is great Just keep going , it's bound to drop. It would be interesting to see if you have a sudden drop of sorts.

    My loss the past few months has been soooo slow and I have been working like the dickens, I know it's from quitting smoking but you know what? I'm going to nail it this month! lol. It's the 3rd month since I quit so my metabolism must be getting back to normal. This is going to be the month, if not, run and hide to avoid a major lol
    We in girls? We still have 3 weeks to go and a heck of a lot can happen in 3 weeks, let's nail this thing.......look out scale, we are coming!

    I do feel better today. Thanks for everyone's kind words and thoughts. It was just a BAD Monday. LOL. I did have POP day yesterday though so taht was good. I am down a pound today. I bit the bullet and changed my sig to show my current standings. I really didn't want to. I thought out of sight, out of mind but that's really like trying to lie to myself so I had to change it. LOL. I'm having a good day today too. Supposed to try Zumba but not sure if my car will be ready on time.

    Honestly, I will admit feeling discouraged right now. I KNOW I am doing the right things. I don't know how much more I can change without eating like a rabbit. Not to be rude, but I don't want any suggestions or anything. I just wanted to vent quickly. I'm not going to give in or give up. I just keep telling myself my current weight is a heck of a lot better than it was 3-4 months ago, so I'm thankful for that. Okay, now back to work (out).
  • So I did 32 min elliptical, 30 min ab routine and 30DS!!!!! Whew!!! I kicked butt!

  • Congratulations everyone on the losses so far! I seem to be stuck on the same few pounds, but I'm hoping it's just cuz TOM is here. Today wasn't such a good day, I didn't record what I ate but I'm pretty sure that I stayed at or under my calories. As for exercise, I walked 2 miles instead of 3 but didn't do the 30DS due to cramps..blah But I did get my wii fit in yesterday so I did about an hour of different exercises (and some games) this afternoon, so at least a got a little something in with my walking. Hopefully the cramps will be gone by tomorrow so that I can continue with my normal workout and maybe see a better loss by the end of the week.

    My friend Kittie arrived Sunday for her Spring Break. The last two days have been a real orgy of eating, with her wanting to cook for me and me wanting to take her out to at least one authentic Mexican restaurant. But it is over and done with. TOM is gone and so is most of our money. So back on plan tomorrow. Thursday, I shall face the music (and the scale! ) like a woman.

    My past few days paid off!!!!! I'm back to 195.5. Like the horrid weekend never happened. So I'm relieved and glad that everyone was right!!!! Today is my strength day and I think I'm gonna try to fit in a 30DS tonight after work!
  • One of the things I like about this thread is we are all human and admitting it..it makes it so much easier for me to even think about posting here, and makes it easier to keep my personal committment to come here everyday whether I have gained, lost or stayed the same....if I can do that, the chance of maybe actually succeeding in losing my weight....

    Today is my day off, and I am going to the dentist--I had a root canal 2 weeks ago and was fitted for a crown and today they are putting it on. I've never had a crown (I need several more) but hopefully today will be a shorter visit.

    So I ate a good high protein breakfast, and the rest of the day should be easy for staying on plan, as I always seem to lose my appetite on dentist days...so I will just naturally be eating less...hooray!!

    Still looking to be able to change that ticker before the end of the week!!

    zoochick, I hope you are feeling better today. I think that that is great that you did a 2 mile walk and with TOM. I am thankful if I can do anything during that time but it's usually a push to do it. Good you got your 2 miles in OH, congratsssssss on your new wii fit. Hope your having lot's of fun with it.

    I am not feeling that spry today, actually kind of down for who knows what! lol. It's a grey rainy day and it is going to go back to being cold (around 30) for the n ext few days. I wont be able to go for that planned outdoor walk with DH but I got the treadmill so I have no excuse. I got in 10 min. of wii aerobics yesterday so at least I did something. No cramps today, I just feel lazyyyyyy somehow....a workout will probably make me feel better, here is to hoping I can get my but in gear girls. Keep up the great work everyone .
  • I definitely feel better today. I tried on some clothes and found myself in a smaller size than I expected, so it helped lift my spirits and refocus me. I am ready to continue tweaking until I get things moving again. I've got some things in mind to work on that have worked in the past, so I'm excited to try them out. I gotta write things down though. I have too much I try to keep in mind and then I forget half of it by the time I want to act on it!! LOL
    FSA-Thanks for your encouragement. I feel a LOT better today! (still no change in weight though)
    NikkiRose-Way to get back to previous weight! It is encouraging when you can get back to plan and keep making progress.
    zoochick-Excellent job on the exercise! It's so easy to not do it when it's TOM or anytime you're not feeling well, so Way To Go!
    Scarlet- I hear ya about knowing that everyone has ups and downs. It's helpful to know it's not easy for anyone, but we keep at it! Hope all went well at the dentist!

    Scarlett, we were writing at the same time yesterday, missed your post. Hope all went well at the dentist a nd that you enjoy your day off. I so agree with you on the posting bit, keep up the good work : )

    As for me, I am feeling better today too. I slept well (I always need catch up right after TOM) and woke up to the sunshine today. TOday I must do better with my water and I am also going to work on upping my exercise again...making sure I get my walks whether outdoors or inside. I need to go to the market again soon and restock. I think the week went by fast, it's almost the weekend again. Keep up the great work everyone and let's keep on truckin' bbs to c hat more...I might go over to my parents today.
