Starting Weight 190lb today
I would like to lose 6 1bs by St. P's.

What kind of diet control are you all following??? how often do u exercise, I have been pretty low on exercise this month, so any tips or tricks will be welcome :dizzy:

Americaninuk 02-15-2009 05:42 AM

304lbs today
hopefully 295lbs by st pats:)

Hattie22 02-15-2009 08:11 AM

:welcome2: Koshinogi
:welcome2: Americaninuk

Here is a little Irish saying to keep us going:

For each petal on the shamrock
This brings a wish your way-
Good health, good luck, and happiness
For today and every day.
:luck2you:

Kosh: I am calorie counting, writing everything down that goes in my mouth, exercising at least 5 times a week, wearing a pedometer, and of course posting here as much as I can. My aim is to keep focused on my plan. For exercise, I use a treadmill, elliptical, and wii fit. I have been trying to add in weight training with 5 lb weights because I am really slowing down on weight loss now. I need to kick it up a bit. Some of us have also been using another exercise thread to log in our exercise. You can post a goal of how much exercise you want to try and do. This helps to keep focused on that area. I started a new one called "Working our way to the end of the rainbow." I think that even a little exercise helps. So just add in a little at a time.

YOO HOO Christian...Where are you?

frieden 02-15-2009 09:59 AM

I'm in. Hi, everyone.:) My goal will be 5 lbs. If I could just lose ONE and get off the world's longest plateau, I'll be pleased.

Good afternoon everyone :)

I am looking forward to seeing everyone from our last thread and also getting to know everyone. Happy day 1 of our new challenge to all. My goal is to lose 10lbs. by the end of our challenge.

THe visit at my parents house went well today, all is well. No exercise as of yet today and I feel tuckered but the day isn't over yet. I will come back and post in the exercise thread tomorrow when I am more rested.

Hattie, I hope your feeling better.

I must run but will catch up with you all soon, hope everyone has a great day.

FullSteamAhead 02-15-2009 05:30 PM

hi ladies, I came back to check in and also report my mini goal...I am striving for a 5 lb. loss from now to the end of Feb. (next 2 weeks).

Hope everyone had a great day. I took off with DH and we went for a walk and then grocery shopping so I could get all of my healthy ingredients for my dinners. If it weren't for DH giving me a push, there would of been no walk today! Okay, it's been a full day and I am hitting the couch for the night.....I owe it to myself, lol :) Have a great night, talk soon.

Losing4another 02-15-2009 10:44 PM

JAYAGODDESS 02-16-2009 02:01 AM

Hey Family,

My 16 year old daughter is going to join me in this challenge. Today we went to her school in the rain and walked the track twice, then we did jump rope. I know it sounds crazy but it was nice to get out even though it was raining a little. :) Her words were I am going to do this. She wants to lose 20 pounds total but she is starting off with just 10 pounds for now. I told her it would be easier to go for smaller goals. I also got her a small journal to write in.

We bought jump ropes today, and the exercise ball. She was trying the ball because she thought oh this is going to be easy.....next thing I know she is laughing on the floor because she said ok it is a little tougher than i thought.

I hope everyone is doing great......here is a little bit of :dust:

Cheers~ ;)

Hattie22 02-16-2009 08:24 AM

:welcome3:frieden
I am also on that plateau. I guess we can't be there forever though. I'll get off if you do. ;)

:welcome3:LadyinFlux : (Looking around on the plateau)There you are...I didn't realize you were on this darn plateau with frieden and I! Who is getting off first? You asked for a :kickbutt: let's see if that helps. If it does...come back and give me one.

:welcome3:Losing4another: You can do it! :cheer2:

Jaya: That is awesome that your daughter is joining you. Make sure you let us know how she is doing. You both are going to rock this challenge!:exercise:

SBD: You are doing awesome!

Fullsteam: So glad to hear everything went well with your parents. Good for DH! He knew just what you needed. Good for you for listening to him.

Hi to everyone! Let's make this a great day!

dangerouscurves76 02-16-2009 11:18 AM

I'm in!

:luck2you: Hi all! I'm a little late but more than ready to get started! I'm going for 10 lbs this challenge. A lofty goal that will take commitment, determination and the support of all you ladies/gents.

CW: 143
GW: 133

Let's get started! :carrot:

Ms Perception 02-16-2009 04:24 PM

Okay, I was away for the weekend, so I'm jumping in a little late. I was "off plan" this weekend" so I don't know my exact start weight (haven't weighed while I was out of town). My goal weight is a modest 174 (and to reach my official 5% for WW which I started in Jan.) for St. Patty's. I have stalled out twice recently, so I want to set a reasonable/attainable goal and reach it.

Losing4another 02-16-2009 09:17 PM

THANKS Hattie for the welcome

Perception- I reached my 5% goal for Weight watchers last week. I love that they added the 5 % ......Now to make 10 % :goodscale

Lewisempire 02-16-2009 10:15 PM

Hi all, I think this will be the perfect place, if you will allow me to join in. I have been needing some short term goals, and motivation. Well, My best friend is getting married in April, and of course that means sleeveless dress, YIKES! So it is time to kick it in to high gear! (MY Butt that is). I want to hit Onederland by St. Patty's day= 9 pounds. I think I will join the workout challenge for St. Patty's day too, because I think all my buddies at "50 miles in Feburary" have been abducted by aliens??????
Let's get this thing ssssssssssssssstarted!!!

JAYAGODDESS 02-16-2009 10:26 PM

FullSteamAhead 02-17-2009 01:45 AM

hi girls :)

I am doing okay here, yup still very sad over losing kitty of course as it is going to take some time but I kept busy all day working out. I sure missed DH today as he went back to work and I was alone for the first time since then. I honestly don't know where I would be at emotionally without my workouts and though I had had quite enough , I went for another 20 minute walk with DH after work as he was so looking forward to getting some fresh air.

Hello to all of you and sorry for not doing personals at the moment as I am quite spent........guess I should hit the hay. Lewis yes please do join us in here and the exercise thread as well, it really is a great bunch of gals and the ex. thread has helped me tremendously too.......just lik eyou said it really helps to hold oneself accountable.

I miss you girls, you know who you are...........come out and play! :)
I better go to bed, I am hitting the hay yet late once again, good thing I wnet to bed early last night. I have to work out tomorrow too because Dh is taking wednesday off and I wont be working out that day as we are going into BOston.

Hope you all wake up to a great day tomorrow , let's keep at it.

urockmom 02-17-2009 09:08 AM

Hi ladies!!

I am sorry that I am late to the challenge but I am here now and ready to :cheer: or :coach: or :rollpin: or :kickbutt: or  as necessary to get us to the :goldpot:!!!!

FSA, Hattie, Sass, Jaya, MsP~ So happy to be back in the mix with you again!!!

Skullarix, Windchime, Lori259, Koshinogi, Americaninuk, frieden, LadyinFlux, Losing4another, dangerouscurves76, Lewisempire~ :welcome3: to our happy little family!!! :grouphug: I look forward to getting to know all of you as we move to St. Patty's Day!!!

So, just to wind up on the V-Day challenge, I lost a total of 6 pounds which is not as much as I wanted but I spent 3 of the 6 weeks wandering around on that plateau so .... :dunno:

For St. Patty's Day I am going to go for 5 pounds. The weight loss has really slowed waaaayyy down and I think that is all I am going to be able to do since TOM is on the doorstep and next week is vacation. My goal for vacation is just not to gain and to get my exercise in. Since we are visiting my in-laws I am probably going to need the stress relief!!! (No, seriously, I love my in-laws but they are going through some really bizarre stuff right now so it will be weird.)

Today is my scheduled NSV day that I mentioned in the V-Day challenge. We are going to Florida and so I have to pull out all of my summer clothes and figure out what fits. The day I packed those clothes away was the day I joined 3FC because I was so frustrated at moving around all of these clothes that didn't fit and I was bursting the buttons on all of my shorts. Literally. Buttons flying around the room! Duck and cover!!! 22 pounds later....I can't wait to go into those boxes and try on stuff and have it be too big!!!!

:congrat: to all of my V-day buddies on their losses! (Especially you, Hattie, on getting off that *&%$#& plateau!)

:yay: to all of my new St. P Day buddies on getting in on the challenge!!!

I am keeping :crossed: that all of our old friends will join us!!!

FullSteamAhead 02-17-2009 12:16 PM

THe weather will be beautiful there now, catch some rays for me ok? ;) Have fun trying on the stuff :)

IT has been a good morning, the wii body test showed me lighter though my official weigh in is on Saturdays for the remainder of the month and I will let you know how I do. HOw is it going for everyone? I hope well, let's hang in there and take it one day at a time. I need to get going, have a good one ladies.......hug.

Lori259 02-17-2009 04:52 PM

I have lost a little so far towards my goal
I now weigh 224.0
(I think I was at 224.6 or 224.8 when I signed up I will have to backtrack and see) I finally got to eat out today~YEAH IT"S BEEN ALONG TIME! LOL
anyways~Ate at Long John Silvers But I went on daily plate last night and researched before I did. So I just ended up with 2 pieces of fish and 2 hush puppies~And drank My own pop~A caffiene free diet pepsi.TOTAL OF Just around 640 calories which wasn't too bad(basically same amount I have been eating for lunch so worked out great)....I would have ate more than that at Long John Silvers before I changed My lifestyle and became a calorie counter And believe it or not I was actually full after I ate~SO I AM HAPPY TODAY! LOL happy over Fast food YUM YUM YUMMY.... whew..... I am goofy.Ignore me I was having a moment!!
Ok On to other things,

TAKE CARE EVERYONE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
HANG IN THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Christian 02-17-2009 04:57 PM

Oh I am SO thrilled to see the new thread up and running, I was hoping we wouldnt lose each other and I am looking forward to losing the rest of my weight with my family and new friends :D I have so many things to tell you all that I have no clue where to start, I have lost power on and off since the ice storm and am so thankful for generators, my dog got ahold of some sugar free gum with zytol in it and almost died, please ...if you have a dog keep them away from sugar free tiems, it can be fatal...just a few more minutes and she would not be here, there are lots of other excuses too, but I am SO over problems right now and I want to forget about the past and just go forward from here... my goal is to hit 152 by St Pats day and I am so glad to be back :grouphug:

Hattie22 02-17-2009 05:47 PM

Yay! Yay! Yay! :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2: Christian came home! We missed you girl!!! I am so sorry that the power has been off!! How is your daughter? Now your dog?!! for you!!! I have to say...My dog ate some Orbit gum from my daughters purse a long time ago. I did not know that was so bad! Thanks for the info. She didn't seem to have any effects from it. I guess we got lucky. What actually happened to your dog? I know about grapes, raisins, and chocolate.
I hope things settle down for you very soon. In the meantime let's rock this challenge! I hope you didn't mind me starting the threads.

Dangerouscurves76::welcome2: I went for the 10 lbs also. It is difficult, but I like keeping it higher. The last one I did I made 7 out of the 10. Not bad.

:welcome3:Lewisempire I also want to be in Onederland!!! Right now my losses have slowed way down. I am still looking toward that goal. If we make it, we will have to do the Irish Jig!

urockmom: Congrats on the 6 lbs!:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2: I don't know if I am actually off or on that #$@%^#Plateau! I lose and gain. Up ONE, DOWN ONE! It is frustrating but who is in a rush? I am here for the long haul.

Fullsteam: A  to you from me. Know that everyday whether I post or not, I am giving you a  I know what it is like to lose a pet baby. It hurts and time is the only thing that helps. The memories will get happier as time goes on. Your baby is at peace and take comfort from that.

Jaya: You go girls! I love that you are posting for her too! Tell her we are cheering her on!!!Here is one for each of you :cheer2::cheer2:

Lori: Great job at Long John Silver!!!! Keep it up! We are going to do this!!!

I am working the program and exercising. I can feel little changes that keep me positive w/out that scale being positive for me. The other night I sat up, w/out using my hands, in bed to pull the covers up! It shocked me! LOL I had to try it again. I did it. I think I used to roll on my side and push hard with my arms. LOL Small pleasures can be big to the pride!
Talk to you soon :luck2you::luck2you::luck2you::luck2you:

Thanks for being here everybody!!!

JAYAGODDESS 02-17-2009 06:21 PM

Hi Family, :grouphug:

Today is a good day. I am sore from jump roping on Sunday and Monday. I guess there are muscles underneath my skin that I didn't even realized that I had....LOL....I did work out today for like 40 minutes on the treadmill. I watched biggest loser when it is on...and it makes the time go by so much faster.

I noticed that the more I work out the hungrier I have been getting....do any of you feel that way? I have snacks here at work so that I do not go to the vending machine...like I have grapes -reduced fat triscuits - yogurt - carrots..

I am excited for this challenge...I feel more ready than the last one.... woohoo...and WELCOME for those who have just joined....you will get the support you need ...I guarantee it....!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA....I sound like the mens warehouse commercial.... LOL

No school this week for me or my daughter... so we will be working extra hard. :)

Cheers~

Lewisempire 02-17-2009 07:41 PM

Hello ladies, I has been a long day at work today, and stressful!!! State surveyors walked in for a 3 day inspection! NOT FUN!! but at least I am off the next 2 days!!
Jaya, I do get hungrier when I work out, I try to spend more of my calories on protein packed snacks like light string cheese, boiled eggs, or low fat lunch meat ie tuna, chicken breast, or turkey. But I kinda love being sore from a workout, it makes me feel like I am making some progress!
Losing 4 another--- love your taste in tickers!!! LOL let's get them moving!

Hattie, here's to us kicking butt on this challenge and making it to Onederlandtogether!!!!
Christian, glad to here your pup is better, that must have scared you to death! I would go insane with out my dog! Pets are a huge part of my life, and they definately bring out the best in us! I saw your ticker, and you have come sooo far, I'm sure we could all learn a thing or two from you, so I'm glad you are on this thread!

JAYAGODDESS 02-17-2009 08:25 PM

Lewisempire - Ok....good...because I was getting like what is going on here...I too like being sore...because then I feel like whew...what a work out....I really want to lose 10 pounds by 2/17/2009. :)

I CAN'T wait to be in the onederland...:D You will be in onderland before you even know it... :)

Cheers~

LadyinFlux 02-17-2009 08:56 PM

Thanks for the kick in the rear Hattie. I weigh next tomorrow AM, and will be sure to let you know if it worked :)
I have behaved, and have kicked up the exercise this week running on my "off days". Hope everyone is well. We can do it!!!!

Ms Perception 02-17-2009 09:59 PM

Christian--I am so glad you're back. I'm soooo sorry to hear things are still not exactly smooth, but way to go for you attitiude of moving forward!!

Ladies, I have sooooo fallen off the wagon and apparently got a concussion, because I must've lost my mind the way I've been eating the last week or so! I need to kick my own butt!!! I am so mad at myself, but what's past is past. Time to undo the damage and stop making excuses. I am gonna rock this St. Patty's challenge!

Windchime 02-17-2009 11:10 PM

I've been doing OK most of the week with the exception of a little trip to Wendy's for a burger and small fries today. Yikes! But I made it fit in and stayed within my calorie range. Last week I decided to change my weigh-in day from Sunday to Friday so I had a 5 day week, but still saw a bit of a loss--yay! Hopefully I'll see one again this week despite the trip to the burger joint. I did some time on the elliptical tonight so that makes me feel a little better.

Supper was basically salmon and brown rice. My tummy is very full, but I can still hear the Skinny Cow calling my name. Does that ever happen to you guys? You're STUFFED full, but still thinking about ice cream or some other treat?

Koshinogi 02-18-2009 04:22 AM

Hey all, looks like u got a good little family going on here =)

Have been op with diet and exercise so far, though ,my shifts at work have changed and it has thrown me off a bit, I just dont want to cook when I get in, so last night I just made french toast with fat free yogurt and summer berries, mmmm. Really need to get a treadmill i think so I can exercise and watch tv, =)

;)

JAYAGODDESS 02-18-2009 12:32 PM

I think I might be catching my daughter’s cold. Arrggg…but I am not going to let it get me down. I will still work out today because trust me I need the energy right now…LOL..and being that I do not have school this week, I will need to work extra hard.

I like to give a shout out to my family. I hope everyone is doing GREAT

Ms Perception – Here I help you back up…we fall off the wagon from time to time – keep positive don’t let the tumbles get you down. You have accomplished a lot.

Windchimd – If you were able to keep your calories in toe, then you are doing great. I will admit even when I am full sometimes I think about chocolate and how good it would be right about now… hehehehehehe

Koshinogi
– It is a great family and you are part of it. Everyone here will be very supportive, even when you are down or you have fallen…we will pick you up. There is a major plus for you right now because you are in onederland, and just look at what you have accomplished so far. Woohoo…..
