Commitment to Christmas Continues Again!!
Here's the newest thread, Christmas is 11 weeks from today, what can you do by then?
I can lose 20 more pounds, 2 a week if I stretch, I would love to be 125 at Christmas!! |
I'm going for the negative Freshman 15... down to the low 130s!
Weigh myself Sunday... we'll see if I'm on the right track! *crosses fingers* |
Wow, just 11 weeks?!
I hope to be under 200 [199 would be okay by me!]. I lose about 2-3lbs a week, and I am up-ing my exercise and changing around my meals, so we'll see. :) |
I'd like to be around 270ish.
This would be easier to follow if I had a signature. :( 11 more days? |
11 more WEEKS Stephi! and :welcome: to our little group! :)
I want to be #163.6 by Christmas, and we'll see how much damage last week and weekend really did on me in the morning! I'm hopinh to be at least back down to only a #2 gain rather then a #5!!! |
I'm currently 228 and would love to be at least 198 by Christmas. It would be good to fit into some of my old skirts before the hot weather really hits Australia.
|
What a great time frame for me! I'm focused on hitting 145 by the third week of January. Working with my doctor, we've established a weekly WL goal for me of 3 lbs per week up until Christmas and then just under 2 lbs per week for the last stretch. That would put my Christmas goal at 152.5. I'm currently at 185.5.
I'm new here so not exactly sure how these challenges work. Are we just supposed to post our progress from time to time or... ? |
Welcome to all the new faces! And yes, our little group has been very informal. Everyone keeps track of their own progress toward their goal and posts towards it. Good luck!!
TC, moving toward onederland, good for you!! Eny, whatever it is, it was worth it, you are now a married lady! Oh Dixie, where are you....yoo hoo.. |
Morning everyone and welcome to all those joining the challenge. ::wave::
My goal is 187 lbs. I was at 214 when I started the challenge in August and I'm at 199 now, so I think 12 more lbs is probably right on track. Especially considering that I expect the next two months to be a bit more difficult than the last two (busier time of year, holiday treats, etc.) MotherMavis, your signature (Committed to Christmas, Santa can bring me skinny clothes!!) always gives me a shot of inspiration when I see it. Besides feeling better, I love to go into my closet to try on clothes that haven't fit me in a while :) Have a good one all! |
I'm going on a mini vaca this weekend, and I know I'm going to be feasting at On The Border so I'm gonna go look at the menu and plan plan plan!
Good luck everyone! |
MM~I am right here. Yesterday was a tough day. The icing on the cake, my ex came by last night!!! He didn't want me, but now that things are final, done with, over, here he is like a new penny. My mind has moved on, now my heart needs to shift gears and move on also. Everything has changed between he and I. Yet it seems he wants some things to stay the same. Doesn't work that way, you can't have your cake and eat it too.~~I don't plan to go to my older sisters' and play cards tonight. I need to stay home, go for a long soul searching walk; to think through some things. when I go play cards there is always some yummies. I don't need the sugary carbs. I am too tempted right now. Eleven weeks until Christmas. A chance to loose another 11 pounds at the least. That doesn't put me at my Christmas goal!! YIKES. I need to get cracking some more. Nothing like good old fashioned sweat to get your mind off problems. Catch ya all later Pat
|
Welcome to all the new to the challenge. :carrot: My goal is to get to 194. That would be 19 pounds to lose.
Dixie- I'm sorry to hear about the problems with your ex. Mine was that way after the divorce was final. Every once in awhile I still have problems with him thinking we are still together. It's frustrating when I want to move on and he won't. Hope you have a good night. |
I think it is part of a lot of men's makeup. My ex was the same way. I walked because I felt he was emotionally cheating (and by most people's standards he was) and showing disrespect for our relationship. I realized when I got some distance that it was also emotionally abusive. Once it was over, he started singing a new tune. It's been over on my side for over 2 years and the contacts from him are getting longer between. I've learned the best things to do where not to engage him in any way - ie if I hear from him, I am civil but don't leave the door open in any way. He'll ask how I am doing and I will say I'm fine, thanks and not reciprocate. For me this is relevant because most of my weight gain this time around came from a pregnancy with him and depression after (lost the baby and almost lost me). He was SO not there through a lot of it. It did some serious damage to my sense of self-worth. Now I'm in a happier relationship - although it is a long-distance one. A really great guy where my weight is not an issue and he's being incredibly supportive. But the 2 years I spent with the ex did a lot of damage and it's taking a good deal of effort to find my way back to me.
|
Rita, thanks. I love shopping in my closet too!! It's the best feeling isn't it? When something that wouldn't pass your thighs before, gets to the butt, then next time, over the butt, then eventually ZIPS!!! It's the visual confirmation we all need. The scale is a number but the clothes, we relate too.
Dixie, You are phenomenal, stay strong! Barbara Jean and New Me  to you too. I love how everyone here has been so supportive of one another. It's amazing what we can make it through isn't it? I have been OP, need to stick with it. I really would like to get under 140 by Halloween. :carrot: |

But I have the strangest body shape! Almost any pair of jeans that will find over my freakin' thunder thighs are baggy at the waist! :dizzy: |
Hi guys! I'll join in also--I find these challenges really help me stay accountable. I am seeing my weight loss slow down and so to set a realistic goal, I want to lose 13 pounds--a little more than 1 per week. I would LOVE to be solidly in the 170's by then. That would be 177.
I haven't been in the 170's for years--maybe 7? I was about 150 about 10 years ago. I WILL get back there sometime!! |
Happy Sunday ladies. Welcome to the new takers of the challenge. My Christmas goal is 180. (I just decreased that from 185. I hope I didn't just set myself up!)
I went to boot camp three times this week and went to the gym two other days. I just took a 4.5 mile walk. Dixie, I am so sorry to hear about your troubles. Hang in there, sweetie. You don't need that emotional manipulation. Take care of YOU right now. *Big HUG* |
Happy Sunday indeed, I have to work tomorrow, but has been a great weekend and I am down a bit for TBL challenge, may end up being just .2 but I'll take any loss!!
|
Hi Everyone~Weigh in day is not good. I gained 2. Pat
|
Pat - hang in there! Backslides are allowed - just means that you and I have to work harder! It's time for me to see the #170's again! I didwork out this weekend. AND I'm determined to hit my October exercise goal! It's not tough if I just do it!!! I have 2 days of 15 done, and 3 miles of 20. I have a lot of work ahead of me for the next 18 days - but I WILL DO IT!!!
I'm still hanging out in the upper #180's again.. I NEED TO GET PAST THIS POINT!!! I need to get safely into the #170s! (#177 sounds abut right Mod!) |
Pat, sorry you're having a tough time, but don't be too hard on yourself! Two pounds is really not much and easily remedied once you get back on track. Take care!
Eny, your enthusiasm is always so inspiring! After reading of your 30DS experiences, I picked up the dvd. I can't wait for it to arrive - though I just realized I have to pick up some hand weights beforehand. Should I go with the 3, 5, or 8 lbs weights? I'm pretty strong, so I don't think the 3 lbs will be much of a challenge. Do you think the 8 lbs would be too heavy? I want to get the max out of the workout, but I'm also going to need to lift my arms after the workout :) |
Rita - I do it with 1 pound cans of peas :D seriously - I would start with #3 no matter how strong you are - Jillian KICKS YOUR BUTT!!!
|
My goal is 175! Boy, that would be nice!
|
I want to join the challenge! I'm hoping to lose 3 pounds a week (a pretty agressive plan but one that was established for me before) so my Christmas goal is 185! Wow--I wouldn't even know what to do with myself!
|
raw & bigsexy :welcome: We have fun here! You both have pretty aggressive goals... Keep at it!!!!! We're all in this together!!!
|
Thanks! And I love your picture Enygirl--you look so happy!! :)
|
Id love to be 119, but at the moment ill settle for anything under 126....
|
bigsexy, we are targetting the same goal (as far as pounds per week). I'm discovering it may be tougher than I expected. My doc had established it as a good target for me however he doesn't want me going below my BMR (which at my lbm is just over 1700 cals). That translates to having to burn an extra 1000 calories a day over normal daily burn rate for me without exercise. I can do that SOME days but it's hard at my current fitness level to do that every day.
Pat, as long as you know you are doing things right, don't worry about small fluctuations. It will balance out in the long-run. |
:welcome3: to all the new people.
Things are going so so. I did lose a pound so I'm happy about that. I kept losing and gaining. I figured my scale was going haywire and now am borrowing my mom's and is weighing me the same weight in the morning and not two different ones. Hope everyone is having a good Monday. |
Christmas is soon approaching. The stuff is at Target! : )
barbarajean2605 - You're avatar is cute! I gained 0.9 pounds on my vaca. YAY! It really, really, REALLY could be worse. : ) Hope everyone is well! |
Thank You everyone~I am hanging in here. I am numb, so blah right now. Life is really trying to kick my butt right now. I thank you all for the kind words and all the support. I really need it! I have been kinda missing in action lately. I will pick it up soon. Catch ya all later. Pat
|
A big *WELCOME* to the newbies. Yes, the x-mas crap is out at Target - it will be here before we know it. YIKES! We all have our work cut out for us, but what kind of "challenge" would it be if it were easy?
Boot camp tonight was a focus on the rear and core - whew! I didn't know I actually had muscles in my butt - I FOUND THEM TONIGHT!! I have my official weekly weigh in tomorrow afternoon. Keep your fingers crossed for me. I've kept my workouts up all week and have only strayed a *teensy* bit in eating plan - (1/2 small glass of red wine. My major weakness.) Keep up all of the good work ladies. |
I'm not sure I'm going to hit my Christmas goal (original one) I haven't been working hard enough.. but I'm going to do my best! Right now I'm BEGGING to see the #170's! and to stop sabotaging myself back into the upper #180s!!! TOM's coming... his favorite Band - THE CRAMPS are in town (yes it's a real band... www.thecramps.com)
I'm stressing about work, because a whole bunch of changes are happening. So i'm hunting for a new job and hopefully will have something lined up befor ethey decide to get rid of me. UGH! I hate this feeling. |
By Christmas, I will be at 175 - a commitment to myself
Great started thread |
Stephi- A lot of places around here have Christmas stuff out. I have nothing bought yet and it's right around the corner. Not to mention I want to get to my goal. :)
Eny- Sorry to hear about your job. Hope you can find a different one. |

Yeah, I have to work out in the morning and in the evening. I even do lunges across the backyard and jumping jacks/jump rope in the back yard while my dog goes potty! Sometimes I feel like this: :carrot: and sometimes I feel like this: :woops:. haha! As long as I pursue my goal and do what I can I'll be happy with what I get--smaller size and hopefully some toned buns! :D |
Woo, great thread! My christmas goal is to hit 195, so I'll be (ahem) walking in a winter ONEderland...
|
My goal is to lose 16.5 lbs by then (1.5 lbs a week). Good luck to everyone else! We can do it! =)

Hi Everyone~grief works in strange ways, so does healing of that grief. The last thing I did for my Mom before she died was do a load of dishes in the dish washer. I can look at the washer and cry. Today I decided she isn't coming back might as well empty it out and use it. I have a load of dishes washing in the washer now. No more hand washing the dishes. I know it sounds strange, even odd but I think I am really starting to heal after her death 1 year and 11 months ago. I need to heal after this divorce. My son-in-law and I were talking about the divorce yesterday. Once the financial upheavel is past I think that will start to heal too. I am doing a lot better today. Yesterday was a complete crash and burn emotionally. I babysat the grandkids, I will babysit again this afternoon. I am watching my Nephew as my sister doesn't feel well today. It all helps, OHHHHHHHHH today is his 4th birthday. Life moves on. Catch ya all later. Pat

I'm seriously drying my hair as I type this!
Can anyone recommend a good hair dryer for someone with freakishly thick hair that isn't $150?! The $150 is the Chi Rocket... and well... a girl can dream.. I'm getting my hair nice and pretty to prepare for my hair extension installation! Pink hair extensions for the cure. $10 ain' bad, eh?! :) |
