A couple day fast to clean out your system is not a bad thing. But you might not actually see a difference in weight because your body will go into starvation mode. Also, if you're not eating anything - it's not wise to do any vigorous exercise, as that will strain your body and can cause some serious sideeffects - like fainting, dizzy spells, severe headaches etc. --- but like I said dieting from the crap in your system isn't a bad idea.

Things are going good on this end. I'm working on day 4 of being ON PLAN... :) I need to keep it up, and keep up the exercise too. I'm definately feeling it, and since I'm in the first week again I'm TIRED! I usually am like this for about a week to week &1/2 and then my body gets used to the extra burn. :)

I had a good WI yesterday! Down another 3.4 pounds, YAY ME!!! I can't believe xmas is just around the corner, where doe's the time go??

barbarajean, looks like you and me have about the same amount to lose for the thanksgiving challenge. I think I need 9.7 to make my goal of 20. Ugh, and I wanted to make gifts for xmas again this year, don't know if I'll have the time. The stores are already putting up decorated trees, eeks!!!

Ladyinflux- WTG!!!! A loss is a loss!!!!

Dixiemae- I did a 3 day detox which was bassically a liquid fast. All i had was juice water and broth. It has done wonders. I finished it last Wednesday. I was at 172. I am now at 165. Its not water weight either. The thing is your toxins hold on to your fat because they have to live somewhere. When you dont have toxins you dont need fat! You should so do it!!! It really isnt very hard.

Bigmomma-WTG 3 pounds is awesome!!!

To everyone!!! I have 10 pounds to go!! I am so excited. I got on the scale this morning and I was at 165! Whoop Whoop!!! I am so glad I found this forum. It keeps me going with my goal!!

MM~Back on track with a lot of help from Eny (thanks!) I sneaked a peak weigh in this morning 180.2. I have 1.2# to loose to be back where I was 2-3 weeks ago. I can do this!! I have a plan written in my journal. I will start it tomorrow. Today we(family) they are having a divorce party at my sisters. I will indulge a little, but I will not do any damage to my weight loss plans. I am bound and determined to get to 162 by Christmas. I WILL have a black dress to wear. Stress level was terrible yesterday. My daughters 15 year old cat had to be put to sleep yesterday. His passing was a tragic end to a wonderful friend. Catch ya all later. Pat

Dixiemae--a divorce party? lol! How nice for them to do that for you! Support for that is just as important as support for anything else, and so go, enjoy yourself, rant and vent and try to laugh. Keep us posted!

My weigh-in was great today--188.8! After my terrible off-plan 5-6 days, I swear the scale when I peeked at it was at 195, when I had 189-something right before I left to go away. I worked my tail off the last three days and ate sparingly--all I can say is, whew! :goodvibes

I put this ticker on my signature, but I'm in so many dang challenges I forgot what weight I started this one! I'll have to go back to read the old posts and find out! I know I'm down a pound or two though! :lol:

Stephi~I live in Indiana. It has rained here all day. Been very cool.

Modcat~Divorce party was fun. I over indulged, but it felt good to let my hair down and have some fun with the family. My sister and I hung out all afternoon. Our older sister treated us to lunch. They made it a fun time, it helped to get it behind me.

WAY TO GO ON ALL OF THE WEIGHTLOSS!!!! You girls have been busy!!!! I have strep. I just found out today that I get to go out of town for Thanksgiving with my boyfriend to meet his family. I have 33 days untill I get there. I am going to go crazy until I am there. I am gonna eat perfectly and exersice like the devil is after me. Starting in the morning I am gonna do taebo and I dont know what else. Anyhoo I will not be perfect Iwill however be better than I was.

wild - just remember that your BF loves you for who you are - not what you look like! :hug: Stay the course and you will succeed! There's a LOT that you can do in the next 5 weeks before you go and meet his family. Just keep at it!

I'm sorry to hear about the strep though! :getwell:

I'm off for the night! Going to do a little stretching, since my legs are still really sore... and then I'm sitting down with a nice book. Wicked I haven't read it yet - but my BFF said it's really good. :)

Dixiemae--I was born and raised in Indiana, New Castle. My mom still has her house there. I love Peyton Manning and the Colts, after the Bears of course (DH tried and true Bears fan). :)

Well I have been on zinc and other herbs as a home remedy and I feel 70 percent. That is way better than I felt. I can talk and eat comfortably now. thank goodness my mom is in to all of that natural home remedy stuff. She hate antibiotics. She says they are bad news. I hate dr visits because its costs so much money to tell me what I already know. So anyhow I followed her rules and I really am feeling quit nice. I took a brief walk this morning with my dog. I did a walk away the pounds tonight. I am not trying to achieve some super woman feat with Andrew's family. I just want to look the best I can look before then. I am not seeting any goals. I just want to try my best to be healthier by then. The holidays are horrible for me. I really want a good foundation on my habits before they hit. So I am gonna work really hard and what I get is what I get. Even if its 5 lbs. I am 5 lbs better. Anywhoo thanks for the get well wishes I really am feeling better.

AHHH I'm having a "THE SCALE HATES ME DAY!" I hate it! I'm a grump - and all I'm planning on doing today is house cleaning! I'm having a Lia Sophia party in a few weeks because a friend of mine just became a consultant and if I don't clean now - it's NEVER going to be done! :eek:

I just DON'T FEEL LIKE IT!!! GRRR!!!

Good Morning Everyone~Today is a gloomy day here. I am stuck at 181. Tomorrow is official wi day. I hope to see a loss. I am on track. I am starting a new eating plan Eny helped me with. I want to kick start a weight loss. I want to get the scale going in the downward direction. I am soooo wanting to wear a slinky black dress for Christmas. I am running out of time! My Ex came by yesterday to talk business. He wants to take me out to breakfast then have me sign the legal papers saying the 2007 car is his all his. By then I should have the final papers from my lawyer to sign ending this stressful period for good. Like I said before he is nice when he wants something. I don't want the car. He asked me if I am using my YMCA Membership. He offered to renew my YMCA membership. I had not planned to ask him. I was VERY surprised he bothered to offer. I will have to think it over, then have a talk with him about it before I make a decission. I don't want him to have any holds or controls on my life now that we are legally divorced. I do want to keep the membership but..............I don't know if I want to drag him along. Catch ya all later. Pat

Dixie--I'm like you--it would be so nice to have him pay for something for you, but not sure I'd like to be beholden to him for anything anymore. Maybe your independence is better in this case.....:shrug:

wildthing--glad you are feeling better. And yes, it really is better to avoid the antibiotics as much as possible. :)

Ugh - I haven't accomplished much today. I did manage to get the grocery shopping done, and I've rearranged the furniture in DD's room - she still has to ge tthe rest cleaned. DH cleaned up the kitchen, so tha twon't be hard to finish... *sigh* I need a laundry fairy though - someone to come over and FOLD all the laundry!!! :eek: Guess I know what I'll be doing tonight huh?

Modcat~I have to be careful dealing with him. He has more twists and turns than a really good "who dun it". Now that I have my freedom I like it. I really don't want to be beholden to him for anything.

Hi everyone! :wave: Sorry I haven't been very active in this thread lately.

With Halloween fast approaching and November starting, I am trying to refocus on the fact that I have a commitment to Christmas! This has been one of those threads that I keep in the back of my mind knowing that Christmas is still a ways off. Not anymore! Time to bring it front and center! My calendar says there is 60 days until Christmas as of today. That's two solid months. I'm ready to take advantage of every single day ahead of me as I would love to give myself the gift of being at least 13 pounds lighter! I will make it a point to post in here regularly from here out to share this leg of the journey with y'all! Think I'll decorate for Christmas a bit too in my siggy. Time to get into the spirit!

I've been gone for awhile. I was at my mom's. I tried to watch what I ate, but it was hard. I'm back on track now. I got 4 miles in of walking today. The weather is getting colder and we got some snow today. Nothing stuck though. I hope everyone is having a good Monday!

Hey ladies, I was kindof MIA this weekend. Ate well -pretty much on plan, except eating out is NOT on plan- but I chose the salad bar with elements of plan. I did 15 minutes on the rower and walked 3.5 miles yesterday. I went to bootcamp for a KICK MY A$$ work out. Whew! My "weigh in" is tomorrow am. WISH ME THIN, ladies!!

Update - weigh in was 3.5 lbs down!!! Yippie!! No work out today - work was INSANE and my day was 12.5 hours. I have boot camp tomorrow. Well on my way to my Christmas goal!!
