modcat - definately get him back there. REGUARDLESS of family history there are things he can do to turn off those bad genes! It is great that we are medically advanced as we are! Seriously...check out Dr. Oz's book You: Staying Young.....it is really good! It explains everything in a way you can understand it...what is going on in there and it says what you can do to turn off bad genes to combat things like Alzheimer's, heart disease...etc! And explains why those things work! Good luck!
|
Eny- grats on the plans!! I don't think my BF is quite thinking marriage yet, but I'm looking to the future, and that's part of what's motivating me.
|
Just popping in quick.
Doing great on my mini 15 day challenge. water 64 ozs.+ - :carrot: running - still on track :carrot: push ups - :carrot: strength training- :carrot: Where did everyone go? Hope you are all doing well but just to busy to post. |
oK -so i'm DONE eating for today. It is my parents (both of them) birthday - so DD & I went out to dinner with my mom. MEXICAN! I did relatively good. Total cals for the day is 1502 - slightly over, but not enough to bi*ch about! :)
I've had TONS of veggies today - and I'm at 64 oz. of water. I'll drink the last 16 oz after my workout. WHICH YES MOMMA I'M UP FOR THE CHALLENGE AND WILL JOIN YOU TONIGHT IN LEVEL 2!!! I'm going to do it as soon as I put DD down for bed (about an hourish) I'm also putting myself to bed early tonight so that I can catch up on the sleep I'm DESPERATELY missing! :tired: So As I've mentioned, I'm not going to head up the September boot camp - because I'm in the BL challenge, and want to make that my main focus challenge. I'm wondering how many of us have joined up for TBL "We are Family"? I'm hoping that all of us do.. and that we're on the same team! :cheer2: I just think the friendly competion along with the Team support is exactly what I need! Alright - I'm off to get some work done before DD goes to bed. I'll check in before I hit the hay! |
Eny - I'm with you...I'm skipping Sept bootcamp.....
I'm planning on doing this TBL and TBL that I'm assuming they will start in Jan. I may save the bootcamps for the summer and skip a TBL in the summer...but who knows....I may just want to do that TBL...but I may need a break and something new by then |
I was thinking the same thing momma. But since this is my first TBL we'll see how I like it. I'm not one for dropping out of challenges generally - but I know that TBL has a high DO rate. i'm not sure how that will annoy me ;)
Let's push through the end of this bootcamp, and finish strong girls!!! There's 9 days left!!! GET MOVING!!! :drill: |
Hi everyone! I have been out with a cold but still managed to bluster through and get my weekly exercise in. I hope everyone is doing great!!!
|
Hey all.. im back from camping! I will be weighing in tomorrow to see how I did. Lots of hiking and jogging took place.
Congrats to Eny on the up and coming wedding! MAybe we can exchange ideas!! |
Day 6 of my 15 day mini challenge.
All my water 2 long walks 30 minutes strength 100 push up challenge journaled food Welcome back Faux! Good luck on your weigh in. Hope you are feeling better Leelily. Great job on still getting your exercise done. Sephy, Where did you go???:( |
fauxtini - I missed ya girl! Hope you had a fun trip! Sounds like you stayed on plan...good luck at the weigh in tomorrow
|
Hey girls! I'm sad to say that I'm not doing well at all...I've seem to have lost my motivation!! It stinks because I keep telling myself that I'm going to get back on my diet and stick to my workouts but I'm soooo STRESSED out all I ever want to do is just sit on the couch and watch t.v. all day...I don't know why I feel like this all of a sudden. Has anyone ever gone through this?? If you have can you tell me how you got over it?? Please help me before I gain back all this weight I worked so hard to get off!!!
|
Jessybessy - I'm just getting over a slump like this. All I wanna do is sit on the couch and watch t.v. and get on the computer. Maybe you should just take a few days off and give yourself a much needed break! There are several good things with taking off a little while. #1. It shocks your body! Here your body is used to all the exercise you have been doing and the amount of calories you have been consuming and sometimes plateaus. When you take a break and eat a little extra (maybe an extra 200-300 calories a day for a couple days...) combined with not exercising...then when you go back to your routine..the weight starts coming off again. #2. When you do this adding of the calories for several days...I typically stop when I have gained one - two pounds and then start. Now don't get discouraged by this gain because for one thing they will come off quickly when you get back to business but for another thing this builds up your body's resistance to gain the weight back. This is really really hard for me to explain but I will try.....For example....lets say you are at 158 lbs and have been eating 1200 calories a day...and you start eating 1600 calories per day until you gain 2 lbs...and you are at 160...and it took you 4 days to gain the 2 lbs...and then you go back to eating 1200 calories and exercising....okay next time you plateau and take a break and go to 1600 calories it should take longer to gain the weight....say maybe it takes you 8 days to gain 2 lbs.....this cycle is very good and important in your diet becaus when you reach your ultimate goal and maybe up your calories to 1600 your body isn't going to want to immediatly start gaining weight back...it will take a long time! and then you will do what you had been doing and go back to 1200 and eventually when you go back to 1600 you won't gain any lbs back. I hope this makes sense and I didn't confuse everyone!! LOL
Anyways...long story short ~Jessy - take you a small break and don't sweat it! You deserve it. And breaks are just like craved food...if you don't give in and eat some of that food you have been craving in moderation evenutally you will go on an all out binge and mess up your diet big time....so if you don't give yourself a break then eventually you will go on a "binge break" LOL....so decide NOW to go on a break maybe for the weekend...and maybe say Monday plan to go back to diet/exercise plan and plan exactly what you will eat/do. Don't beat yourself up! Good luck....just make sure you get back on the horse soon! |
Hey all! I completed my August bootcamp goal! YAY! I weighed in this morning and was at 274.6.. my goal was 275 by august 31! I've lost 12 pounds since August 1st! I've kicked my own ***.. but it was a good pain :)
Jessy: I know how you feel about lack of motvation.. a bout a month ago I went through a really bad patch where I gained all this weight and was almost up at 300 again! I kept saying for over a week that I was going to start tomorrow.. over and over again.. then Imade a goal.. kind of like Melissa is saying.. and I just relaxed for a couple of days and didn't stress dieting... I started and made up for last time. I've een on a roll ever since. If you aren't ready and can't make yourself do it.. your body may not be ready. Don't take a huge break.. but like a couple days of give you time to plan and organize your fresh start a coupe days from now. BE here lots.. that's my motivation..once you start losing again your motvation will be back in those numbers falling :) thinking of you!! |
Fauxtini: You've lost 12 pounds this month - yowza! Nicely done. Now, if I can just take myself and this little challenge seriously, and lose a whopping four pounds by the end of the month, I'll be very pleased!
I weighed in at 140 this morning (the scale really doesn't seem to like any of those pesky numbers between 130-139!). I honestly have not been making an effort, and will be seriously pissed at myself if I flake - having joined this forum, committed to a challenge, and then not followed through. I need a plan. |
Fauxtini - :balloons: :cheer: :congrat: :cheer: :balloons:
Congrats on meeting your goal! I have slacked off soooo much this month and wouldn't get back on plan. I have only lost 2 lbs this month but hop to lose 3 more for a total of 5 ....hopefully the month won't be a complete loss. |
Melissa: Thanks for the cheer leaders and balloons.. hehe You can totally do the 5 pounds by the end of the week. I had my 'off' month in June when I didn't do HALF as good as I could.. the important thing is you are back in the swang of thangs and ready to kick it in September.. Hello Biggest loser time!! :)
And hey.. 2 pounds down is a heckova lot better than gaining!!! way to go :) |
Hello there! :)
It's been great reading your posts girls :) Was wondering if I could join you - seems like lots of fun in here!!! Hope all of you are having a wonderful weekend....I did lots of walking today (its my fav activity) and planning doing more walking tomorrow morning too. |
Welcome Wiosna! I love walking too. It's my exercise of choice :) Glad to see you on here :)
|
Momma-It makes a lot of sense and I'm glad you relayed your experience because it made me smile, here I thought that falling off the horse for a bit was super BAD and it got me depressed, which made me want to slump around all day even MORE!!! But yea I definately see where you're coming from on that one and I made a plan to start back up tomorrow. You're right if you don't take a break you'll burn yourself out and I really think that's what happened to me. So thank you again for the wisdom and care! I have a whole new outlook!
Faux-Thank you too! I've seen that some of us have slipped since we started and it helps to know that I'm not the only one going through this!! I don't think my body was ready to lose anymore than it has already, I've come a long way since I first started my weight loss program and I think I really needed that break! Ohh and CONGRATULATIONS!!! That's awesome 12 pounds!! You GO GIRL! Just weighed myself and I'm at 210!!! Oh gosh I can't believe I gained 11 pounds!!! But I'm going to gain myself again in the morning because I did eat a lot today and usually I lose a couple pounds overnight and another one or two after my morning bathroom break lol. I also kinda overdid it today on food but it is my birthday!! I had pancakes and eggs for breakfast, skipped lunch, chinese for dinner and 2 pieces of Birthday cake, ugh!!! But I told myself that on my birthday I eat what I want because it's MY DAY!! But yea I am definately starting fresh tomorrow, I dunno if I can make my #10 goal by the 31st but I have 7 days and prolly after a few bathroom breaks I will have #5 to go. So next week I'm stepping it up and doing 45 minutes cardio everyday, 30 minutes of weights and I'm eating nothing but fresh veggies, fruits, turkey, chicken and fish! I hope I can pull this off! |
The important thing for all of us is to keep going, restart - and DO THIS! It's not going to be easy... we have to want this more then anything!!!
SO - DO YOU WANT THIS?? ARE YOU WILLING TO MAKE THE SACRIFICES AND TIME IN ORDER TO DO IT?? ARE YOU READY TO WORK??? (these are questions going through my mind, as I sit at this Da*n plateau!) Let's NOT give up - but revamp!!! Momma - have you done day 2, of level 2 of 30DS? I haven't yet - but tomorrow is the day!!!! You in???? I'm going to go right now and do some push ups... I'm going to see how many sets of 10 I can do before DBF and DD are ready to watch the movie. I'll edit the post and let you know! Edit: I did 9 sets of 10 = 90 Pushups (on knees - ARMS ARE FEELING IT!!!) It was 10 minutes WELL SPENT!!!!!! :D |
I would like to join the mileage goal for the month. I found a ticker (see below ;-)
where do you get the labor day and Christmas challenge thingies? I am wondering if I can do mileage with spinning or rebounding, or if it is just for walking/running or how that works? How do you keep track of mileage if you have a mileage goal? thanks! Did I post this to the wrong group? sorry :-( |
wantingto - there is a thread for 50 miles or more per month...you can post that info there....or you can do it here....part of the August bootcamp is you gotta have goals like for exercise and weight loss and stuff...so if 50 miles in a month is your goal you could definately post it here....Although I think 50 miles for the month of August is a bit much if you are just getting started.....
As far as the 50 miles or more thread...all milage counts....weither it is jog/run on treadmill or outside...or a bike...or an elliptical...etc etc you just update info as often as you want. |
ok people again I am back! I had two wakes and two funerals in 3 days this week. :( I am just sorta now winding down from it. One was a very close family friend I grew up with him and his sister and cousins and the other was the exhubs grampa. :( So here I am back on track and going to work out tomorrow! I am scared to stand on the scale.
I know it takes 21 days to make something a habit well I will be starting back at day 1 tomorrow! :( So here I go falling asleep and getting awake early to go work out.. :) |
Well, I am still at 195.x. My goal was to be BELOW 195, but not quite there yet. Had a spotty Friday and Saturday, but today back on track. Did 20 minutes non--stop on treadmill as well as a few weights, then went to the yoga class, so got in my exercise today. Amazing how much better that makes me feel when I start the day out like that!
One more week, but I leave for 5 days to Vegas on Wednesday. Still I am planning working out everyday there, and swimming in pool, and not drinking (much) and making healthy food challenges. If fauxtini can go camping for 5 days without even a roasted marshmallow or s'more, I can also be fairly disciplined in Vegas. I plan on doing the 5K challenge on Labor Day when I get back--will post then if I hit my goal of being under 195! |
Good luck Mod! I know you can do it... Just remember.. don't give in to the temptation!! It will disapear if you show it who is boss!!!
|
Mod - Hey you at least got to your original goal!!! I'm not even gonna get that...but I'm happy with my current losing streak :goodscale
I weighed this morning and was down 2 more pounds to 236!!! YAYYYY |
Melissa! CONGRATS! That's awesome!!! You are making up for lost time for sure!!! hehe
|
Wheww hewww ....thanx faux!!!!
i'm so excited about this loss!!! halfway through the 230's almost! |
Mel - you're rocking girl! I need to come back to you guys BIG TIME!!! I can't wait for TBL to start and for me to get back into my groove!
|
Im doing ok exercise wise... But in other news.. I got the CALL! I am headed to montreal TOMORROW for my marriage visa interview! I will get to marry my Fiance ( on paper) before he is deployed! Miracles do happen! I will be busy for the next few weeks but hope to be online as much as I can. I want to stay on plan while im going through all of this of course.
In the next few weeks I will be traveling to montreal, New York, kansas and kentucky, finding apartments, GETTING MARRIED, changing my name, and spending every momemnt with my hubby to be before he is deployed! WOW. Once im settled I will have AMPLE 3FC time tho until I get a visa to work. Crazyness lies ahead.. but im excited/nervous. Who would have thought id have to have an interview with the govt to be allowed to marry an american?! Sorry to the people who are on a few of the same threads as me.. i'm sort of just spreadig the word cause im excited! hehe |
Faux - THAT IS AWESOME!! :congrat: I'm SO HAPPY FOR YOU!!!! I needed to hear good news today - thanks for spreading your excitment!!! :D
|
Congrats Faux!! I live in Kansas!! lol Well I'm glad it finally happened for you and I wish you and your hubby to be all the best in life!! My hubby is deploying in October :( I know how you feel! Hey if your stationed in Ft. Riley we should do lunch!!!
Okay so I'm back down to 204!! I take that as good news lol. But I hope to be down to 200 within the next week!! I CAN DO IT!! I know most of this is still from my birthday so I've been kind of sticking to veggies and fresh fruits the past couple of days and doing an hour of work outs, it seems to be doing the trick. Hopefully I can finish this challenge!! |
Faux - Hey why are you going to all those states??? Are you trying to find a place in one of them...where at in Kentucky...I'm close to there...
|
Quote:
I decided not to stay in kansas while he was gone cause I didn't know anyone there. I'm headed to kentucky to be near friends. If only I had known a 3fc girl was so close i woulda stuck around! hehe So yeah.. i passed he interview! and im pumped! random courthouse marriage.. here I come! I will have year to plan a 'real wedding' while my dh is away. So much going on right now! waahoo! Anyway.. good luck on the worin out girls!! Aug is almost over!!!! :) |

Congratulations Faux!!! That is wonderful news!
I've completed a lot of my goals but definitely didn't lose the 10 lbs I had hoped to lose. :( Still, I won't cry too much about only losing 1.5 lbs. At least its something. |
FAUX- Definately I love doing lunch lol. Yea I'm not sticking around either, I plan on moving back to Chicago while he's gone. You're doing the right thing because it can get boring around here if you don't know too many people! Anyways have fun planning your wedding!
So it's almost the end of August and I'm really worried about my ending results. I set a goal of #10 but I will be happy if I reach #5. I really need to pump myself up and lose more next time...I'm kind of on a deadline here. I'm maid of honor at my SIL wedding next May and I wanna look good!! hehe! |
Wow one more day of August. This was a tough month for me with that weight I gained during vacation earlier this month. I hope I made a come back and will do my final weigh in Monday AM. I had set a little 15 day mini challenge for myself and I think it really helped me stay on track for the 2nd half of the month. Tomorrow AM I will do my last run for the month and that goal will be completed. I did do more than 13 runs for the month but I didn't always track my distance so I didn't want to count them toward my goal. I hope everyone did what they set out to do this month. Good Luck on your Final Weigh-Ins!
|
Poop...where you are gonna be is about 4 hours from where I live in TN. I was hoping you would be stationed at Ft. Campbell at the Clarksville, TN and Kentucky border! That is like 45 min away!
POOP! Oh well....we might can meet half way sometime maybe in Nashville or something for a day of shopping!! |
Well I did my final weigh in this morning and I am down to 202 lbs. I lost 8 lbs this month!! YAY!!! Well I plan on losing 12 next month. Bye girls!
