50 Miles (or more) in June!

Hope everyone remembers their mileage to-date as our original June thread is gone. I need to check with my Garmin and readd my miles.

For any new folks, the goal of this challenge is to run or walk 50 miles (or more!) in June! Everybody is welcome!

I never signed up before the crash, but finally decided last night I'll try to do 50. I'm already at 15.5 on week one...should be okay!! (Had an awesome hike in the mountains today!)

mrsaugie 06-06-2008 10:14 PM

21 Miles and 146 Min Resistance Training

4 miles 60 min resistance

musictchr 06-07-2008 07:08 AM

I think I was at 24.5/100.

Huge storms came through Thursday night into Friday. Lost power, alarm didn't go off. Thank goodness I woke up in time for work, just not in time to walk, so I missed 2 miles yesterday. But, 2 miles Wed eve, 2 last night, and on my way out for 2 this AM, so I'm up to 30.5/100

Off on a field trip with my school kids today. Going to see Wicked!! Saw it in NYC a couple of years ago, can't wait to see it again!!!!!

Awesome! That's only a little over 7 miles a day so when you think about it that's doable!

I'm now at 20.41 so far for June.

musictchr 06-09-2008 06:22 AM

Add another 5.5 since yesterday AM, so I'm at 30/100. At an average of 3 miles per day, I'm right on target!

delsey2007 06-11-2008 12:32 AM

Sweet, well, I just started on the 9th. I did something like a mile and a half. I know I did a mile, but on my second walk I forgot to put my pedometer on..so I'm not sure. But just so I don't over credit myself I'll say it was a half mile on the second walk. On the 10th I did 2 miles according to my pedometer 7,000 steps is 2 miles..so. I've done 3 1/2 miles in two days and I hope to gradually do more as time goes on. Wish me luck, I'm not good with motivation and I've never worked out a day in my life. It should be interesting.

Anyway, to log...3 1/2 miles. update tomorrow. :)

musictchr 06-11-2008 07:47 AM

Add 4 more miles, so I'm at 38/100. Right on track!

delsey - If you're walking outside and forget your pedometer, try using gmaps to clock your distance. It takes a second or two to figure out how to use it, but look at the directions and it's not bad (I tried to just play around and figure it out and was woefully unsuccessful - instructions are a wonderful thing!). The link is http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/

mstigger 06-11-2008 11:59 AM

3.6 today. That makes 37.2/100.

delsey-You're doing great. It takes a while to build up the endurance to walk those miles. The fact that you have started is all that counts! :carrot:

musictchr-thanks for that link!!

Nicoyaangel 06-11-2008 11:59 PM

Hey ... I am back too ... my ticker is keeping track for me ... but this is what I got so far for June ... I need to push myself even more ... Tonight is gym night so I will be reporting even more!

musictchr 06-12-2008 11:06 AM

mstigger 06-12-2008 06:55 PM

me4life-that's a great goal. Glad to have you join us :)

6 more today, that makes 43.2/100 :carrot:

kittycat40 06-12-2008 07:45 PM

Welcome me4life,
I did 5.5 yesterday, up to 42/75.
Aiming for 6er tomorrow. I have worn a heart rate monitor/timer once and then ran w/o the next day. I'm thinking it may help me reduce my walking breaks and slow down times. Will use it tomorrow and report back..

musictchr 06-13-2008 12:21 PM

Add 4 more since yesterday AM, so I'm up to 46/100. Walking the Relay for Life tonight, so I'll probably add at least another 2 later.

Mrs Snark 06-13-2008 02:44 PM

Welcome me4life!

I ran 5.15 today. I'm not racking up the same amount of mileage this month because I'm spending more time on the bike and in the pool. The cross training is awesome, but it's definitely not going to be a 100 mile running month!

June challenge miles so far: 33.91

PetiteHourglass 06-13-2008 02:48 PM

Well I am a little late to this forum, but I figured I'd throw my towel in :) What can it hurt?

As of June 13th, 9 Miles (adding 5 more on today).

It's a slow walk/jog pace, but up up and away!

Mrs Snark 06-13-2008 02:56 PM

Welcome Petite! It's never too late to join! :)

mstigger 06-13-2008 03:33 PM

Hey Josephine, you'll still get mile in this month, not just running miles :D

Welcome Petite! No worries on how fast you get your miles in, just that you are getting them in is a great accomplishment!

5.05 in today......wasn't going to run today, but wasn't able to make it to my kick boxing class this morning :(

48.25/100 :broc: :broc:

kittycat40 06-13-2008 07:40 PM

total 3 miles today. 2treadmill 1stroller. wasn't able to get out of the house early enough to do 6er and be back in time for carpool for two prompt mommies' sons.
45/75

PetiteHourglass 06-14-2008 07:08 PM

Only got 2 miles in yesterday (due to very nasty storms) so that brings my total up to 11 miles.

Now today with blue skys I'm heading for my normal route. 5 Miles! Rawr.

mstigger 06-15-2008 02:47 PM

Today's my day off, but yesterday I logged in 6.05 miles (not including all the walking I did while shopping yesterday!) 54.3/100 for the month.

Shy Moment 06-15-2008 08:32 PM

I haven't really been around the last few days. I have been in a lot of pain and I don't really feel like chit chat when this kind of pain hits. I am doing much better. Today I am just taking it easy and trying to get house work done. I have been doing my exercising but I am not counting it to wards any goals because I have because I haven't been putting my all into it. Figured moving the body was better than not moving at all. Hopefully I will be all caught up tonight with housework and laundry and start the week fresh tomorrow with exercise. Haven't had to worry about eating to much because I don't feel like eating at all lol. Good news is the lungs are doing pretty good so I am off the dreaded Prednisone. Haven't taken the pain mead Percoset all day so hopefully tomorrow my head will be clear lol.

Mrs Snark 06-15-2008 08:41 PM

I'm sorry you've been in so much pain, that's terrible. Amazing that you even continued to exercise while feeling that way, I personally think those miles COUNT! :)

Mrs Snark 06-16-2008 08:24 AM

I ran 6 miles this morning... it was damp, damp, DAMP out. Ick!

June challenge miles so far: 39.91
