Hooray for new people!!!

I pulled off a 1.2 pound loss this week which makes me pretty happy. This week's weather is looking like it's going to be horribly hot & humid but I'm hoping it doesn't get so bad that we're stuck inside again. If it was just me I'd say "screw it" and head out anyway ... but I don't want Johnny to get too overheated. I was terribly sensitive to the heat when I was his age and I really don't want to find out that it's genetic!!! Tuesday may be okay, though, so I might take him downtown so he can splash in that pool again and maybe we'll hit up the Farmer's Market while we're down there. I've lived here 4 1/2 years and JUST found out that there's one downtown every Tuesday afternoon between May & October!!! I so felt like smacking myself upside the head when I found out.

EarthShaker WTG on the loss, that is awesome!

I am taking Spanish, getting back into the swing of things with a summer class so that I can take a couple more next semester and eventually get the degree that I started before I got pregnant. (DS1 is now entering his 3rd year of college and DS2 will be a HS Sr this year, so it's finally time)

Whoopsee, WTG on your loss too, have fun at the Farmer's Market!

Julia - Welcome, we are glad to have you!!

Amanda: That has to be tough, trying to exercise with little ones. I have a hard enough time making myself go, and I don't have concerns like you do. Best of luck finding something that fits.

MotherMavis: What's your degree going to be in? I just finished my English degree in May, and I'm a bit chagrined that it took me 16 years to finish a 4 year degree.

Saw a sign on a church on the way to the gym: It's not the work that's hard; it's the discipline.

When I got on the elliptical, I thought, "What a load of crap! It IS the work!"

I'm still feeling really tired when I get home from the gym, but at least I'm able to stretch out the work out a bit, and while I'm not excited about the machines, I am starting to feel better while on them.

If only I didn't feel so sleepy now.

Congrats on the losses (Go ahead and squeal, too!!) and on the commitment to exercise when you don't "feel like it," to pursue long-delayed goals, to do good things for yourselves! You guys rock!

I have been hiding in shame for the past two weeks. June 25-29 was our family's annual camping/rodeo weekend. I had everything planned ahead...then for got to pack half my op food. Although I wasn't terrible, I came back with a 4 pound gain. I know most of that was fluid retention, but it still really P*ssed me off!! I struggled the whole week, staying on plan all day, but having a snack in the evening. The positive note was that these snacks were just that a snack size serving...not a WHOLE Bag of chips, or an ice cream cone while the rest of the family had Blizzards. Then came 4th of July weekend Food wise I was fine....but consumed way tooo many liquid calories...and I am not talking about sodas.

Sunday I kicked my own butt. I was OP all day and night!!! I had a glass of ice water with a lime Sunday night instead of a margarita and Sunday afternoon I did 45 min of water aerobics. Yesterday was another OP day for me and more water aerobics. This morning the scale rewarded my efforts!! All of my wild weekend weight gain is gone. I am back on trak and feeling stronger and more confident!!

Karen - on the loss! Think of it this way - in order to hit your Christmas goal you need to lose #1.5 a week.. what do you need to do to hit that goal???

Kate - good job getting back into it! And good job losing the "family weekend" weight! Back on target - striving towards your goal! Kepp going!

Talking I Did It!

Congrats for all the weight loss! I hope to have some of the same success stories in the near future!

As for the working out part, I did it! This morning I got up and bought a Mommy and Me workout DVD that I can do with the new baby. Plus my six year old says that he will do it with me too! Now if I could just get Dad to join in! Ya right!

Also when it cools off some I plan on doing some family walks and bike rides. MM - Thanks for the suggestions!

Anyway, I'll let you know how it goes!

Hello ... Been MIA for a week. I've been busy working, doing the family thing, etc. Now, I'm sick. Go figure!
Sounds like everyone is doing well. Congrats on the losses!! And great job to those who are going to the gym and working out when they don't want to. That is a huge deal!
Hope to feel better by tonight (very doubtful) I was really looking forward to working out tonight in my water fitness class. I have to work tomorrow so I won't be able to go then.
Hope everyone has a great day.

Good evening all and hi to everyone new.

I have missed you all, and it hasn't been so great around my house either. I was on call all weekend, but then Monday I got sick with some bug right before lunch, and then I got a hormone migraine. Needless to say I was still feeling puny going to work this morning. I have perked up this afternoon, and with a little sleep tonight I should be right as rain tomorrow in time to go to work. I was able to keep on track today, and so hopefully I will still lose when I/we weigh in on Friday.

Feel better Bluu!

Catch up with you tomorrow evening! Have a great Wednesday!

Kathy

good morning girls! I'm feeling better this morning, but still in a bit of a funk. Not sure what's going on. I'm retaining a lot of water today too - so part of the funk might be because I'm bloated. ugh... if only life was simplier and we were all size 2/4s!

Haley - WTG on the NSVs - and welcome back!

Bluu -

Good Morning everyone!

For those of you who are under the weather I hope that you start feeling better!

Haley - Congrats on the NSVs! That is great!!!

MM - WTG on your school goals! How many classes are you taking at once?

As for my new DVD it is just - OK. It is a little on the boring side to tell you the truth. I think I am going to try dancing around like an idiot with my kids instead. That sounds like lots of fun and good exercise too! Maybe if I keep shaking my booty it will eventually fall off!!!

Let's have another on track day!!! Later....
