Courtnie - I am just finishing a latte, I am just having a small one though. I also got the Starbucks low fat breakfast sandwich - it's dry, not so good. I used ketchup on it, and that was the only way I got thru it. But it was the best choice for the place!

Aimee - I had a VENTI latte! haha but it was only 3 points - we are going for Thai for lunch, I am thinking of getting a rice noodle soup with seafood - it cant be that bad for me, but I have NO idea on points!

Hey everyone! TOM came last night which means I was totally right about the reason I was eating so screwy last week. I've been very PMSy and grumpy today and everything is pissing me off. Always the first day. *rolls eyes*

I just thought I would make my weight in a bit more official - since we aren't doing the meetings. So weight in (do I say this is week 1? lol) - 163.6 Dinner changed, so I dont think I have to use any flex points again today! If I do it shouldnt be as many as I thought - I dunno dunno if today is really right as I had to do some guessing on points, but I did some research as well - so I hope its not off. I didn't exercise this morning, but i am going to try and do a bit tonight - try and keep it around 30min, I always say that then I do way more - but I dont wanna push myself too much cuz i dont wanna get too sick! |
So true Courtnie, TOM sucks majorly! But I'm semi back to normal today. Not as pissy. Ate ALL fast food yesterday which was actually fine since Friday is my cheat day anyway. Back on track today.

HEY LADIES!! sorry i havent been around this weekend. I had my GRE test on friday and i totally bombed it. i mean 50 points less and i would have done the worst you can possibly do. not because im not intelligent enough for it, but because i made a mistake that through off the whole test. and then i let my frustrations get the best of me. i didnt eat so well this weekend at all!! oh well, typically i would get super depressed and just give up, but im trying to fight it off the best i can. i made a schedule to try to keep me on track. i know i shouldnt let a test get me down this much, but i needed to do well on it. now i have to put my graduate school plans on hold for at least another 6 months. such a pain. oh well, ill get through it. so far today ive eaten well and exercised, so thats of the good. I walked 2 miles and did pilates. Had 386 cals (goal:1600) and 5 grams (goal: trying to stay under 25%) of fat.

WW is going alright. Everything in my fridge and pantry is tattoo'd with points values. I've been packing my lunches for work everyday, which is really helping. Some of that extra weight has dropped off, but certainly not all of it. My summer goal is simply to establish a exercise routine, and stick to it. At this point I just want more energy and to be stronger. Congratulations on the promotion Aimee! That's so awesome! For those of us doing WW, should we set a weigh in day every week, like they do at the meetings? I think that would help keep us accountable :) |
Jen - weight in day sounds like a good idea to me. I usually weigh in on Fridays, but I am fine with any day for 'our weigh in' - just not Monday's! haha
I did amazingly well this weekend - this is the first weekend in over 6 months I have not gained water weight Monday morning - and it was even a long weekend. I did use some flex points but will have at least 20 left for the week - tomorrow is the start of week two, but I am thinking about using a couple points tonight for a weight watchers dessert. I was pretty sick all weekend so spent a lot of my weekend just laying around and watchings movies - today I did some cleaning/organizing witch was nice. On a side note - I need to brag!! My dog and I won first place (out of over 1300 entires) in a photo contest! I enter this contest every single months (since october!) and this is our first time winning - and first place none the less! The contest really is based on your photography skills more then how cute you dog is - you can tell that most people who win are pro phographers or close to it. anyway, I am still in shock that we won! http://www.pamperedpuppy.com/contest...ners/index.php |

I lost 1 pound this week! Not what I was expecting but I did REALLY bad on the weekend. But it's a new week, time to move on and focus on the upcoming week!

thanks for the support girls!! i was totally bummed about my test. anyways, this week has gone better. ive been sticking to my 1600 cals a day. plus ive been stickin to my workout schedule. so far so good.
aimee-im trying to get into a rehabilitation counseling program for people with chemical dependency problems. good luck with the eating your veggies!! i know i always have to watch that. nikki-thanks for the encouragment shari-congrats on the weight loss!! thats really good. hope you girls are having a great day!! |

Hi Angel and Nikki! Courtnie ~ Don't beat yourself up about the flex points. They are there to be used! Went to the gym last night and tried this new class called BodyJam. It's basically dance aerobics. We had to take the class in the aerobics room with all the mirrors and windows! I felt so humiliated. I wanted to run away. I am so out of touch with my body which was the reason I wanted to take the class anyway. My self conciousness almost killed me but I'm going back. I took dance in high school and was just as self concious but it got easier over time. |
Shari - congrats on going to that class!! Everyone was a beginner once, just always remember that!

Shari - but you lose more weight if you dont use flex points! haha I ended up exercise a TON yesterday, like two hours on my bike! Today I only did 40 min and I am not going to get on it tonight, give myself a bit of a rest!

i mean it was totally a nice night out, but who would of thought... that 3 little tiny potato skins, that was probably like HALF of a potato skim - would be 5 points??? I thought like 3? anyway, all well - its fine - the rest of the week will be perfect! but I only have 19.5 points left and 5 days left! i might have to start counting exercise points, haha |
Courtnie - totally recoverable! Just make sure you aren't using any flex points for the next couple of days! It is truely amazing how many points certain things have - a bottle of powerade? 5 points!!!! so so weird!
So I got this WW desert, it was some kinda cake thing. It wasn't too bad, I'm sure it's got to have artificial sweetner, but its got enough other stuff that it's not bothering me too much. I should have read the ingredients! I am ending my day at 30 points, which is only 2 points up! -Aimee |

I did not make my July 4 challenge. However, I did lose 5 lbs so I am happy with that :) I will just keep going and hopefuly drop 10 more this summer. Nikki |
I feel like for the amount I eat, weigh and exercise I should be losing more.... do you think exercising too much should cause you to lose less?

Remember mudscle wegihs more then fat so it is possible that as you workout and build muscle you will stalll or even gain a bit. Nikki |

Courtnie - I am totally baffled why you are losing so slowly.. I'm sure there are reasons, but I dunno :( I feel you pain - I lose insanely slow, just gotta keep plugging away, we'll BOTH get there! I feel like I shouldn't complain, you know 1.2-1.8 pounds a week is fantastic! And I am totally happy with that, I just feel like it should be more you know? I am ending today right on, at 22 points! I ended up having like 5 nuts - that I am counting as 1, 5 cheesies that I am counting as 1, and then a dish of raspberries (0) with some chocolate chips (2)! But I did exercise for an hour, so I felt I should eat all my points! |

His theory is that if I completely take over the kitchen he will be forced to eat healthier too... we'll see how this goes. Courtnie when I did WW they sais to expect a 1-2 lb loss a week. Are you losing at all? Jen-hat is great that your boyfriend is joining you it makres it easy for sure. When I started Atkins my bf said he would do it with me. That lasted 2 days :( I'm still plugging away over here. Only 20 to go but it sure feels like alot more. Nikki |
Nikki - I am losing, but not as much as I feel I should be. Take last week for example, I only used 10 flex points (an extra 1000 ish calories for the week), ate my 22 points a day - that is less then 1300 calories. And exercise everyday for at least an hour. Today I am showing a .6 pounds loss. I just feel it should be more? Yesterday I saw 162.2 on the scale, witch would be a 1.2 pound loss but I dunno if I can count it. I mean something is better then nothing, I just feel it should be more. Like I am working twice as hard as I should be. I haven't lost anything for month, and maybe I didn't deserve it, but I felt some weeks I should of been...
anyway I'll stop complaing now, but at this rate its gonna be a year before I meet goal :( |
Jen - I am trying to convince the bf to do WW with me too! I told him I would figure out all his points and prepackage up all his meals, I don't know if he is down with that. At breakfast yesterday I calculated his points - 22!! The boy likes to eat. I haven't read that book, never even heard of it. I am also at 28 points, go figure - we weigh within 5 pounds of eachother, heh. I am using flex points though, I think I've used 3 for my week, and today is day 4, so 1 a day approx.
Nikki - They say the last 20 pounds can be hard ones to go, this friend of mine did a TON of research about losing "old fat", basically fat thats been around for a while and told me that she found that she had to exercise 1.5-2 hours every couple of days to lose it, along with keeping up her good diet. Courtnie - Based on what I said above, I think once a week you should go for the gold with your exercise, see if you can do 90 min to 2 hours, seems extreme, and you may get bored.. but my friend swears by it! I am feeling stuffy in the face this morning, but no sore throat. This may be WAY too much information but I woke up in the middle of the night with an itchy ear (inside), so I went to the bathroom and used a q-tip, man, my ear let off some serious about of wax.. wonder if that had anything to do with anything. It was just really weird! I am off to shower.. bbl! -Aimee |
Well I did two hours one day this week, so maybe I will try that every week.
I stood on the scale after I exercise and saw 162.4 - so I think I am going to count that and go for a loss of 1 pound this week. |
