  Hey All

I really enjoyed the great weather we have had in the last little while but I just looked out my window AND IT IS SNOWING AGAIN!!!

ENOUGH ALREADY! It's really bringin' me down. I WANT SUNSHINE    AND I WANT IT NOW!!!

(That little rant was all the exercise I did today :p )

FullSteamAhead 04-04-2007 09:48 PM

hi ladies,

Lytricia , hi : ) OH gosh I know , can you beleive it? I really didn't expect to see any more snow at this point. I am still much farther south than you and yet it was snowing like the dickens this afternoon! Now it's raining though and will all melt, it didin't amount to much and it wont last! heck no! So hang in there! The forecast here is not as bad as I thought, tomorrow we are due for sunny skies again and for the whole week ahead! THe weather can be carzy here sometimes, one day it's winter and then all of a sudden, bammm!!! spring and summer hit full force!

my twinsmommy, bravo on the cardio work. As for fool proof method on the holidays, etc. I don't know, its all up to us. As for me, I have already thought about it and schemed. I don't deprive myself but i Have a little of everything...and I mean a little. THis year, it shouldn't be too hard for me as we are going to my MIL and they have a great but simple spread. Ham, keilbasa! Yesssssss, very salty and fatty, so I am already telling myself to just have a bit and then after drink plenty of water. When we go to my aunts, (greek), the amount of food is enormous so even with a little bit of this and that , the food piles up! (and they usually don't eat until 3). It's always the leftovers that kill me! This year, the meal is at noon or shortly thereafter so I plan on taking it easy and watching the leftovers. Actually, I prefer to have none! (leftovers). I am never very hungry at this time so that's good but if it eating is at a time when your particularly hungry, I recommend having a small , light bite of something prior to going. This has helped me in the past. I was just reading about having protein of sort before going, even a hard boiled egg. I plan on enjoying myself and having a little bit of what I want but jsut being aware of being very diligent prior to Easter, enjoying my easter meal, but not letting it turn into a full blown day and night eating affair. I am still contemplating my weigh in ( on mondays) and am tossing out the idea whether to weigh in on sunday or tuesday. Probably Sunday, not sure yet. Although I don't plan on going overboard, all that salt will surely affect the scale for me on a monday m orning weigh in and I don't want any discouragement of that sort.

Hi mygirls mommy : ) , may I ask where you got the pedometer? or where to get a good one? I got one for my mom a while back but it was in some chintzy set it seemed,,, I don't think it was a good one. I like the idea of the pedometer, sounds like a great motivator : )

Well ladies, as for my day, it was very varied........I resisted tempatation and am proud, yet did have 2 margaritas.......which incidentally, I dont feel guilty about! go figure! I think dh had a lot to do with that as well as the overall day being quite good on the sucess factor.

TOday, even being elated that my ankle felt fine, I still felt a bit blue. THe weather really did not help. It took me quite some time to muster up the energy to do my workout. At one point, when I got hungry (and a while after my turkey sandwich, I got whole grain wheat and loved it) I went into the frigde and found dh's leftover eggplant parmisian from last night. (No, i did not touch it last night). I took the plate out and had 3 bites and it tasted sooooo good, I could have easily devoured the whole huge portion in a matter of minutes! Needless to say, during the course of these 3 bites my m ind started reeling! I started thinking oh god it's good, I can eat this in a matter of minutes, then suddenly, I thought how I would feel after I ate it. I felt and thought about the bad feeling I would feel after (certainly clinging to me for the rest of the night) and it turned me off!!!!!!! I thought, wow! I will get a sense of enjoyment for the matter of minutes it took me to eat this thing but then what? THat would only last a few minutes or several minutes, only to be followed by terrible feelings all night long! wowwwwwwwww! that did it for me! I covered the plate back up, grabbed a hard boiled egg and hopped on the treadmill for 52 minutes. THe negative reinforce of those hours on end of bad feelings won out! It just wasn't worth t i for me to eat it for those minutes! THis is very much along the lines of what glitterlicious said! how true!

My treadmill faces the window, and there I was, doing my workout staring out at the snow! I had such a hard time starting, but once I put on my sneakers and got on there, it felt marvelous! A chain reaction indeed in as far as improving mood, etc. We did go to Aculpolos though! It was awful weather and not up to driving to chile's so we went. I did very well with the food plan, only having 1 chicken fajita (no toppings, chips, or side dishes). I was happy and amazed to see how much my appetite has dwindled! I did fill up on 2 margaritas though! lol :D well, for me it was okay as I still had a good calorie range day and just the weight of the emotional effect or satisfaction scored very high and it was a good mid-week break during this time of lousy weather. I am ok with it, buttttttt my plan now is to be extremely diligent tomorrow, friday, and saturday. I have my meals planned out already! ITs fish and green beans tommorrow, chicken friday, and saturday don't know yet. My dh made me feel super tonight. Told me I looked real pretty at dinner, I said, I do???? He said yes, you look beautiful! You are taking care of yourself and it shows! wowwwww :) big brownie points, lol. It is so comforting and reinforcing after working so hard for us to hear such positive feedback!

That's all my news for now. I am ready to roll tomorrow and awaken to a new day! If the sun comes out as they say, I will be so thrilled! Even if the temps are at 45, I want to do my outdoor walk. Ladies, it is so fun and exciting and nice that we are all here to share in our journey....I wouldn't be doing so well without you all here  let's keep on trucking and be real good, we have 3 days before Easter! Oh, Im sorry, I didnt add the egg pic yet, dh is going to help me tomorrow. Take care, sleep well, and let's all awak e to a new and faboulous day : )

OK So I cheated today on my goals and weighed myself in the middle of the week...BUT..OMG..I was down to 215 from 220!! I don't know what happened between Sunday and today..I have been averaging 1600 cal/day so I haven't been starving myself or anything close to it LOL. I guess it is just water weight..but dang it feels good to see that needle jump! Yay!

Let's see Monday and Tuesday I did cardio and felt great afterward. I always dread giong to the gym but feel awesome when I complete a workout. I went to see my grandma today and I also had a job interview, so that kind of cut out my gym time for today. BUT Thursday and Friday here I come!!! Gotta get this bootay into shape!

:cheer:I hope everyone else is as pumped as me LOL. Have a great Thursday!!:cheer:

sockmonkey70 04-05-2007 01:48 AM

Oh..and just a question for the ladies..Do you prefer digital or analog scales?

I got a pretty nice analog scale and it seems consistent. ON my BF's digital, I could get on 5 time in a row and weigh something different each time. Any thoughts?

MygirlsMommy 04-05-2007 10:00 AM

Way to go Sockmonkey70! Five pounds, that's awesome! I cheated and weighed myself too soon, too, but I'm down a pound, so I'm happy that the scale's going in the right direction. :)
FSA - I actually found the pedometer on the store here:
http://www.3fatchicks.com/store.php
I've only had it a few days, but I really like it. It was very easy to set up, and wearing it doesn't bother me at all. Here's to a great, healthy Thursday, ladies!

nosnah1011 04-05-2007 10:33 AM

Lytricia: I'm so jelous it's snowing where you are!!! I'm from massachusetts (born and raised) and currently stuck in texas (land of humidity and hotter than **** temps)...

SockMonkey: congrats!!! sometimes i can't resist getting on the scale either, it is a toughie, cause it's there and i'm there... so i don't blame you! and it was good news, so that's awesome

ALL: hope everyone has some fun Easter plans!!! i'm going home to Massachusetts, visiting the fam... it will be a nice change of pace, hopefully the diet will still work out well even with the whoel family and friends and holiday scene... it just always seems that families try to show their love at holidays but making all this deliciously bad for you food and then they are almost insulted if you only take one bite or try to stick with lighter foods... oh well good luck to everyone this weekend! :)

Well, presently, I am fighting with my scale at the moment, so I am not going to look all month for a pleasant surprize for the end of the month. Using my clothes (you know those well wished sizes purchased at a smaller size) as a measuring too. I want to fit in to those size 12 I purchased early 2005 that is collecting dust in my closet.

My trainer told me my diet goals. 33% protien 17% fat and 50% carbs. I tack on fitDay.com and I am getting closer each week. I will get there by the end of the month.

I go to the gym 4x/week. Two days with trainer, two days on my own. Saturday is kickboxing, Monday is LifeCycle class. I am working on a pull up. My training sessions are going to end by the middle of the month. I have to create a workout schedule for myself. That will be finished by the end of the month.

I am looking for a buddy to help keep eachother accountable. Anyone interested?

Hi there. Just wondering if you are still looking for a buddy. I just started the South Beach Diet Monday and am ready to keep going. Love the April challenge idea and I think having a buddy would really help motivate me.

Good afternoon all : )

Ladies, I am paying for those drinks I had last night with extra fluid retention today. I felt it the minute I woke up, it just settles in my face and also eyes extra puffy! I hate that feeling so today I am going to be sure to drink plenty of water and am real happy it's fish for dinner tonihgt.

sockmonkeyyy, congratulatons!!!!! That is super :carrot: :carrot: :carrot: :) way to go! keep up the awesome work.

mygirlsmommy, thanks for the info : ) and congrats on the loss too! :)

Nosnah, that's where I am, In Mass! :) HOw long have you been in Texas? One of my freinds from Mass moved and lived there for a couple of years but is back in Mass now.

Hi hisskitty and welcome :) I have tried a couple of the frozen south beach diet dinners and they are delicious! One time when I had a real strong p craving, I found the southbeach pizza and wow! It was really good and at 370 cals and a controlled portion, it really did the trick! Satisfied my craving. That is the first time I have ever had it on wheat based dough! IT really is so much more filling than white.

HOpe everyone has a great day, keep up the awesome work all! : )

Happy Easter

:easter2:

Good Afternoon everyone, I just wanted to wish everyone HAPPY EASTER!!

I have done well this week I am trying not to weigh myself until Saturday morning but I will be off tomorrow and the scale may call me. I just hope I don't blow it on Sunday. I have to see my in-laws on Saturday for Easter but I am making the meal and I have put together a menu that the only thing I would eat is the salad, I am a vegetarian and I gave up cheese for lent, so most of the food will have meat or cheese. (Except for the dessert of course, but that will be nothing I have not had before so I won't miss that much if I don't have it.)

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and Happy Easter! I will post the results of the weigh in on Saturday when I can.

Hey Everyone!

I haven't been on here for a bit. Looks like a lot of chatter has happened since than. :D I'll have to come on here to keep up with what's going on.

So far so good on the April challenge. Not much to report really. I'm hoping I'll have a loss in inches tomorrow. But I'm not sure...

I might have bruised/cracked a rib this morning when I fell off my bike, if that's the case, I'll be behind a bit when it comes to exercise. Which bums me out a bit; it's been so nice out that I've been out doing lots of cardio and am having so much fun. Oh well. :( It happens. Just a set back. I'll have to just keep a real close eye on what I'm eating.

So long for now.

Happy Easter everyone!!!

moonlightstar 04-06-2007 03:49 AM

I'm new...well, back after a long time. I want to join the April challenge. Just like most of you i'd like to get off about 10 pounds. I just bought a new car...a brand new Honda FIT!!!! Can you imagine what this car name is doing to me??? I'd like to be FIT like my car!!! This is my goal..to acheive it...i'll do this by staying away from sweets and junk food starting monday! Right now I am mentally getting ready and also moving this weekend...yep! This chicky is pretty busy!!! New Car, new home and soon a NEW ME!!!!

Rockie86 04-06-2007 12:20 PM

Hi folks! Took me a while to get back on this one! I've been bad this week :(

Between school stresses and the dbf being here (he eats anything and everything and all the time! And never gains anything...grr), I have eaten naughtily and not been to the gym at all. Sigh. I have to weigh in on Sunday and right now I am just hoping I haven't gained too much. This is really depressing and I feel like going out and buying a whole bunch of Easter chocolate to make myself feel better.
That being said I know I just have to get back on track. If I break even this week and the scale doesn't move I'll be glad, and I will get back to losing next week! Right??

Anywho... my weight loss goal for April was originally to lose 10lbs... (be 140 by May 1st) But with the loss of this week I am thinking it will be more like 6-7 lbs. I will be happy with any loss though right now! :p

Soooo we'll see how it goes.
