Hey ladies. Sorry to be checking in late, but it was a gorgeous day here today so I was outside enjoying it. I lost 1.4 pounds this week. I don't think I'm going to make the goal I set for myself this month unless I happen to lose 8.8 pounds next week. I doubt that. I did set a rather high goal though. Even still, I feel that I did well. The scale is still going down, so that's progress. Congrats to everyone that's lost and if your feeling hopeless, just hang in there and stick with it. We're all worth it.

desilu, welcome and not it is not too late to join! we are happy to have you aboard! sockmonkey and kitty, please keep in mind that in the w hole scope of things a bad day or even a fe bad days don't hurt as much as we think they do as long as we get right back on track. THat is one of the beauty's of having our support system here, we can offer an objective viewpoint to each other. For example, hiss kitty, you have lost 6 lbs. so far this month! You truly are kicking butt! So you had that muffin thing or whatever and brownies, brush it off and start a new day tomorrow. I really don't think you did as bad as you thought! ha! that is why objectivity comes in so handy! I remember during a few bad days last week or last month I got into areal bad way. M y dh and mom looked at me quizzically and said you are doing great! It made me look at what I did do verus what I did not do! Like the exercise, eating healthier, and all in all giving up so many bad habits like late night ea ting. It really helped! So lets try and remember and think about what we did do r ight and how we improved, not just of a so called sidetrack. I always say how that guilt or down feelings dont aid us inour plight, yet at the same time it also shows the dedication and is a negative reinforcer.......thus pushing us towards our goals. Ladies, tomorrow is a new day and we star a fresh week!. Let's button down the hatches, learn from our past week and move forward! Congrats to you who have lost weight and also congrats to you of those who may have not lost weight but have made changes, like exercising, eating healthy, stopping late night eating, etc. I have always been one to be very hard on myself, and beleive me, for me, jsut being able to go right back to it no matter what, has been key. Okay Okay, I might have something more than planned on a weekend for example, but as long as I a m diligent all week, keep up with the exercise and not let those so called let myself have what I want on the weekend s get out of hand, its okay! In a nutshell, i think that regardless of what we do, if we go right back to our plans t he next day, it pays off! I remember when I would go off a day or two or more, even a week. EVery single day your off it makes it that much harder to get back! So I said to myself, well, I imagined the outcome! Ok, so if I stay off it what will happen after? what will the weight situation be and how will I feel? so help me god ladeis, that did it for me! lol THen I thought, so if you go right back on track, what will the outcome be? often that meant losing any gain in a hurry and just going forwared and feeling a whole lot better in the long run. Forgiving myself was one of the biggest accomplishments, without doing t hat I could not move forward! Oh gosh, I hope i am not rambling too much and im making sense.......what I am trying to say is even if you had a bad few days or a bad week.......remember that tomorrow is a new day. For me, the only way to start a new day with a fresh mind...is to forgi ve myself for the past. Certainly, I take in and learn from what may have hindered me, but at the same time, let it go and move on! with that being said, I wish you all the best of luck tommorow. We start our new week ladies! : ) On e more week to go, so let's keep it moving! |

ray of light, I have had that rough bronco ride too on this journey! Many times! I say we ride it hard and when it throws us, well, we get right back up there : ) Im riding it strong right now, but I am sure I will hit the rough spot again, it's inevitable! Thing is, we get right back in our saddles! Glad your here : ) I love reading your posts and your use of metahpors!

After all the carnage in my kitchen over the weekend etc. I only gained 1 pound!!!!! whippeeeeeeee I will whip that off in short order that's for sure.

Steam - this is true --- every new day is a new day to begin for the rest of our lives....forgiveness is crucial as you say and every day that we don't look after ourselves it just leaves it harder and harder to get back on course. We still have 9 more days till the end of april.....and I want to take off 4 pounds....I can do it....hahahah probably 3 pounds will be water weight, but I want to see the weigh scale move........

Hi everyone!!! I hope you guys had a better weekend than me LOL. But it's a glorious Monday and another chance to start fresh. I did good today so I feel energized to take on the week. If I can do it today, I can do it everyday. I have to.
I just keep wishing I would wake up one morning and magically be skinny when I look in the mirror..Don't think I will holding my breath on that one though :) Have a great week everyone!! |
hi guys, glad to see most of us are on track!! :bravo: I havent been able to do the slim fast thing 100%. I cant eat what they want me to during the day. I just dont have the time to STOP and eat. But i make sure i eat something small, and have the dinner that they have set out every night. I only eat a fruit where i am supposed to, but not necessarily what they say i should. First off i cant eat grapefruit because i am on blood pressure medications. I didnt get to the gym lastnight, but my mother and I took the baby and walked to the mall. That was about a 2.5km walk each way. Im trying to make it to the gym tonight, but im having trouble getting motivated. I just want to SLEEP:cry: It looks like Josh's remaining sniffles from his sinus infection are turning into another one..poor little thing, he's only 3 months old and this will be his third round of antibiotics. Take care ladies, Im hoping to lose the remaining two pounds before the end of the month!!!:carrot:

I can't beleive it, I finally got in here! I have tried several times the past few days, but to no avail. I was having major pc problems and worked on my pc all day yesterday, ugh! Hopefully, it is okay now. How is everyone doing? Jellybeanz, sound to me like your doing well. That was a great walk you and your mom went on : ) I hope Josh is feeling better. I havn't been feeling so ducky the past few days! I woke up with TOM monday morning! 5 days early ladies! I am so regular and this is not typical for me, I am pretty certain it was a result of the dietary changes, etc. I am still feeling a bit lousy but should be fine tomorrow. Still bloated though and I hate that feeling but hey, it will pass. I skipped Mon. weigh in and am just focusing on eating light and staying away from anything salty especially this week. Despite not feeling well, I did manage my exercises but I feel bushed today so I might take the day off. I had a great weekend though, the weather was beautiful! Sat. night I went to chile's and got the g.g chicken platter, it was delicious. I had a pretty good weekend plan wise but I nailed some of the salty tortilla chips! Ray and sockmonkey, congrats on a good first day and fresh start. I can't beleive it's wed already! sockmonkey, I wish I had a majic wand too! lol :) Kitty, I was thinking of you the other day. I felt (and still feel) 10 lbs. heavier! Darn fluids! HOw are you doing with the southbeach? Is this the last week of phase1? Lytricia, h ow's the slim-fast working out for you? nosnahhhh, I hope your having a great time in vegas. I am glad I can finally get back in and post, I missed you ladies! Well it’s nice to see that everyone is here and still supportive. FSA - I am doing great on the slim-fast…although I haven’t weighed myself I feel that I am staying on track. Thanks for asking. Jellybeanz, I am not adhering to their suggestions rigidly either because there are 7 of us living in my house and often I will buy groceries and then 5 minutes later try and find a banana and there are none left!!!! However I think all of the menus are just suggestions, basically it looks to me like any other diet – reasonable portion sizes – a variety of fruits and vegetables – and shy on the bread and pasta :rolleyes: (you know…all the things we hate about diets!) I do however like the fact that it does get me out of the kitchen for at least two meals and that is a plus for me! I was able to do a 5km run on Monday morning and this morning as well. I already shaved 5 minutes off my time which is now at 47 minutes 20 seconds!!! This is amazing for me, I was a runner when I was younger and collapsed one of my lungs during a run. This has made me a little apprehensive to workout to the point where I’m out of breath so I think that this fear has held my exercise routines back, but I am trying to work through this fear knowing that the collapse was a fluke and probably won’t ever happen again. Can’t live in fear!!! Anyway, we are doing great up here in Toronto…weather is good…spring always puts a positive spin on things for me…LIFE IS GOOD :dancer: Talk soon - |

Hi Lytricia :) I'm happy to hear your news and that the slim fast is working out well for you. Congrats on your runs, that's super! As for the collapsed lung, I have never heard of that before and have no knowledge at all about it but with your docs blessing and "knowing it was some sort of fluke", I am happy for you that you are running again. I bet it feels great! Glad to hear the weather up there is good for you, keep up the awesome work : ). Well girls, as for me, miss " I am going to stay away from salty things this week" had pizza and a hostess cupcake last night! I took the day off from exercise too,though I did manage to do plenty around the house. I have to be super strict the rest of the week and can't afford any shaninigans over the weekend, so anyways, I am ready for my new day! I got to bed early last night and slept like a rock! I feel good today and I feel rested. I am taking some fish out for dinner and will drink plenty of water today, plus do my workouts. We still have 4-5 days left to the end of our month, let's keep it going. I'll be posting a new thread for us real soon for the month of may (a few days early again) to get it ready for us and so that others have some time to see it and perhaps join us. I love the smell of fresh air !!! Fullsteam i hope u feel better soon ever since i had my iud removed i get tom's now and i was so used to not having them belive me i didnt miss them at all but the bloating feeling is something else it totally sucks well my week was pretty good the scale this morning said 197!!! Im so freakin excited im in the onederland finally!!! Welp hope everyone has a good rest of the week and the month of April is almost up so lets all make our goals then have a big posting party!!! Good job and congrats to all on here i love reading everyones progress marie |

Hey Lyticia, I'm working on my 5k too.....I did it in 45 minutes down from 55. I'm preparing for a relay race where I work at the end of May. They said the average runner was doing it in 22 minutes .... ekkkkkkkkkkkkkkk I better get my groove on. My 21 year old son sez he's sad that I've gained weight. I told him it was because I quit smoking and quit coffee, but he's having none of that. Oh well, the poor darling will get over it. Ray xo |

so beleive it or not i didn't post while i was in vegas :) i wasn't really in the hotel room a lot... we were just going going going... it was AMAZING! I had a really good time and there was tons of walking and i never took the escalator always the stairs... but the scale still was slowly creeping up all week... after all i was in the city of Buffets and bright and flashy distracty thingies... My favorite thing i did was Thunder from Down Under, it was fabulously funny and i laughed a lot... the half naked men weren't bad either As for april goals, there are still 4 more days in the month and i'm hoping that returning to healthful eating will help flush out the crap food i ate all week... you really just feel all bloaty from eating foods you aren't used to and walking all day in the sun and then all night up and about... so i've decided to ignore this past wed. weigh in and move forward and see where the last day of the month takes me Vegasbabe: i did do your suggestions we walked around everywhere and saw lots... we didn't waste a bunch of times in the clubs, and we did do one at the top... i know you recommended Playboy Club but we went to the Voodoo lounge, i figured it was the same idea tho, top of the strip... the view was AMAZING! Also, my favorite chill place was the Carnaval bar next to Harrah's. the flair bartending was awesome to watch!!! Hope everyone is going strong and ready to end this month with a bang! |

Honestly , I compete withmyself! I know we are all different, and given our different weights and fitness levels, I compete with myself. Ray, thats a tough ride, I say do the best you can and be the best you can, regardless of what everyone else is doing! As for your and lytricia's time, I was impressed :) I think you ladies are rocking :) buttermom!
