Hey girlies -- I've been noticing a lot of food porn being mentioned on this thread, and I know our rule is to watch mentioning specific foods -- but since so many of us forget about it, and the other thread seems to be lost, I'm not going to go and edit out all of the mentioning of food. BUT -- if you have a certain food trigger, PLEASE PM me with it -- and I will edit out mentions of it. Or you can let all the girls know -- and we'll all be careful. We don't want to trigger anyone.

Thanks everyone!!!

Okay, the mod stuff is over. I've been binge free for 36 hours!! Yay me!

End of Day #4!

I finally found the strength to clean & organize my kitchen, this afternoon...
Now I have one less thing to stress about, but I still hate housekeeping.

"Food porn"??? ...
I've just lost my appetite. (!)

food porn = naming specific foods as it may trigger binges for some people

Good Morning Everybody . I just want to report that I was binge free all day yesterday and so far today (its still early ). I did an hour at the gym yesterday and I am going today (after I post this).
I am trying to get some plans in place so I won't be as tempted to binge over the weekend. The weekends are harder for me but I have been making progress. DH and I have a dinner to go to Sat. night so I am going to eat healthy and light in the am and just enjoy my dinner without guilt and stop when I am full. sounds so simple but it will be a challenge for me! I have lost every thing that I gained last week so I am back to 225 . Maybe I can even have a loss this week (I will be happy with 1/2 a lb.)
Hope every one has a great and healthy weekend!

Hi Everybody!

I read something today which REALLY made sense to me and I wanted to share it with all of you. (I did get permission from the author to post it here)
================================================== =====
The best thing I learned in therapy is this:

HALT+B

What that means is

NEVER get too H-ungry
NEVER get too A-ngry
NEVER get too L-onely
NEVER get too T-ired
NEVER get too B-ored

If you feel a binge coming on, just HALT! Think about the 5 letters and ask yourself if you're too hungry, angry, yada, yada, yada . . . usually you're experiencing SOMETHING close to one of these.

You can also add any kind of emotion like HAPPY! Yes, I binge when I'm happy as well. How about stress? Anxious?

The trick is to HALT and analyze WHY you want to binge. It gets easier to recognize these triggers the more you HALT.

I know Elizabeth, I binge when I'm happy as well -- I don't need much of an excuse. I binge through all emotions. Now, the only time I don't binge, is when I'm busy. That's why I need to be a little bit more productive with my time. My acronym would be really LONG. I should come up with one including my binge trigger foods as well. I remember MRS. DR VANDERTRAMP for the etre verbs in French. Anyone remember that?

OK, its morning and I plan to try my hardest today. A few weeks ago I started on this diet meal plan that gets delivered frozen, so I should be eating only what is on the menu for today (which should be perfectly satisfying). But, of course I always throw in a few extra protein snacks and last night I went to the diner and had chicken fingers. So I totally blew yesterday but today is another day! Wish me luck girlz in eating only what I'm supposed to for today.

Argh! I had a binge spell yesterday. Today is a new day and a new goal. So, I'm on the bandwagon to remain binge free.

Hi everybody!

Uh, I am still not feeling well. I suffered with some stomach problems this week and I am still totally exhausted. And my concentration is very bad, so I am I totally messed up my learning schedule.....Not so happy at all.
And my eating behaviour is messed up. It starts getting better, but needs a lot of improvement.

Elizabeth: The HALT- thingy is something that AA often use.
H- Hungry/ Hunger
A- Angry
L- Loneliness or Langeweile (which means Boredom in German)
T- Tiredness
Mmmhhh, I guess i have a few problems with H, A, L and T.....
Combined with having binge beast and scale monster around all the time (they are rehearsing for a new Muppet-Puppet- Broadwayshow. And they are searching for a new buddy, the law-garden-gnom) results in feeling not so well).

I hope everybody is having a nice day with some amount of binge free time!

Kate

Kate: I'm sorry you don't feel well!! I hope you get better soon.

This weekend is finally over! Funny how that sounds, most people hate it ending. I worked doubles the whole weekend, and ate my face off in the meantime. Now I've got three days of just class, so I'm starting over again. Ahh, the story of my life. 4 1/2 days of eating good, 2 1/2 days of shoving everything in my mouth. I really want to say by next Monday that I haven't binged...we'll see!
