Saboteurs & Evil
As a perk and curse of my job I live in a home owned by the organization but I have to live with my female counterpart. We have separate living spaces and bathrooms but have to share a kitchen. Sharing the kitchen has been hard for me since so much of my food stuff is shame related. I rarely cook or eat in there. I find it difficult to grocery shop because my housemate loads up the fridge with her food (most of which she never eats and allows to rot in there). It's just hard to feel "safe" in the kitchen here.
I made the mistake of sharing my food issues with her when I moved in. She's a social worker so I assumed she'd get it. Then, when I recently started a diet, I asked her to make room in the freezer (which was packed with food she'd forgotten about ever buying).
Last week, someone from the org had us over for dinner and had my favorite flavor ice cream for dessert. All my co-workers were enjoying it but I politely declined because of my diet. Some of my co-workers teased me but most were cool and encouraging.
This evening, I get home and my housemate has purchased a 1/2 gallon of that ice cream!!!
She and I have been having problems working together lately so I think this is her passive aggressive way of getting back at me. Isn't that pure evil? I will, however, not touch a singe speck of her poison ice cream. The Holy Grail could be in that freezer but I'd never know it cuz I'd sooner cut off a leg than give her the satisfaction.
So, I am now binging on diet food. Sigh.
