I'm sorry about the bone spurs... that's so painful.

Lena, good job getting back at it, girl!! :hat:

Did my 30 minute exercise class today... my abs are just a-killin' me. :D

Happy Monday!

Hi all! Back from vacation and ready to jump on the elliptical again! I did pretty well, despite feeling a bit lazy there. I did my morning stretches and crunches most mornings, well, I missed 2 out of 5 days I think. But we walked down to the river every afternoon. I didn't ask how far that hike is, but it "felt" like at least a mile, and it's not the flat terrain of Florida that I'm used to. :stress:

Friday, the day we drove back, I did... absolutely nothing... not even the morning stretch. Saturday I at least did the morning stretch, but we ran errands the whole rest of the day. Yesterday wasn't bad. I was still too lazy to do the morning stretch, but we worked out in the yard most of the morning, digging up parts of the sprinkler system to find leaks and dig up broken heads.

Today I should be back on my normal schedule though. I hope. No, I will! I have to, I can't backslide now! Right?

Oh my gosh - I walked all over this weekend - 3 hours each day:faint: I had to bundle up in my scarf and gloves, but as long as I stayed on the sunny side of the street it wasn't too bad.
Saturday I walked down and around into SoHo and back - I walked along Canal Street for a little bit, laughing at all the tourists buying knock-offs (not that I'm not a tourist while I'm here, but I'm not thinking I'm really getting a Prada bag for $50), but that area was so crowded I couldn't stand it.
Sunday, after I did a yoga dvd, I walked up Park Avenue and looked at all the expensive shops on 57th Street and up Madison Ave, then walked back down Lexington Ave. I did a lot of wistful gazing into windows, wishing I could afford to buy couture (wishing I could even spell couture!) I really, really want a Chanel suit. I did buy a small dooney & bourke purse - I haven't told DH yet, but he should be lucky I didn't actually go into the Coach store. I would have spent a lot more in there!

I hope everyone had a great weekend. I am going to try to take it easy today and let my ankles recuperate from all the walking!

Hi, everyone! Welcome back, Lala!

I have been walking and walking... three hours yesterday and two + today. It's so cold. I may never thaw out...

dalai_lala 03-21-2006 12:21 PM

Whew!

I made it through the post-vacation "I don't wannas!" :carrot:

Monday: AM stretches and crunches, got up the stairs at school without having to stop (woot!), PM stretches and 30 minutes on the elliptical. I had to really make myself stay on for the last five minutes, though... the bottoms of my feet REALLY hurt for some reason...

Happy Tuesday!

Happy Spring to all! Here in Nebraska, spring brought us the first major snow since December. It hurt -- we had been having such a mild winter that we had pretty much forgotten where we were! Stores had to dig their shovels and salt out of storage. People acted crazy on the road, just like they usually do the first snow day of the year. But today the sun is out and the Big Melt has begun. Hopefully winter has departed for this year (ah, but this IS Nebraska!). Here is hoping to see March go OUT like a lamb next week!

As for exercise, here is what mine looks like:
March 1 -- 55 minutes functional fitness (TLT workout)
March 2 -- 60 minutes step aerobics
March 3 -- 50 minutes weight work w/aerobic intervals
March 4 -- 85 minutes (72 step/hi-low, 13 stretch)
March 5 -- intentional rest day
March 6 -- 54 minutes hi-low aerobics (48) and abs (6)
March 7 -- 60 minutes The Firm vol. 1
March 8 -- 60 minutes Firm cardio
March 9 -- 60 minutes functional fitness (TLT video)
March 10 -- 60 minutes step aerobics / Cathe
March 11 -- 84 minutes (35 step aerobics, 49 The Firm sculpting/weights)
March 12 -- scheduled rest day
March 13 -- 55 minutes step aerobics
March 14 -- 70 minutes circuit -- step/stability ball sculpting
March 15 -- 58 minutes step aerobics
March 16 -- 56 minutes (10 dance aerobics, 46 The Firm sculpting/weights)
March 17 -- 54 minutes step aerobics
March 18 -- 84 minutes (35 hi-lo aerobics, 49 stability ball TLT)
March 19 -- scheduled rest day
March 20 -- 49 minutes floor aerobics
March 21 -- 55 minutes functional fitness (TLT Strength in Movement)
March 22 -- 56 minutes hi-lo aerobics

Enjoy your sweating sessions!

Hi, girls!!

Donna, thanks for the kick yesterday... I really needed it.
I dragged myself onto the treadmill and did my run, and tonight I've got an exercise class.
You're doing GREAT! Lucky you doing yard work! I think spring is finally coming here. It's going up to 7C (45F) today, and I am THRILLED!! :)

I hope everyone has a great day... keep it up, girls!! :cheer: :cheer:

dalai_lala 03-23-2006 11:06 AM

Weeeellllll... a little bit of a wimp out yesterday. I did my morning routine just fine, and did a two mile walk with a friend in the afternoon, but completely skipped the PM stretch and the elliptical. :( I was so depressed and binge-y yesterday. I won't rehash it, I put up a little whiney post in the Chicks in Control forum, hehehehee...

Today seems better, though, already did my AM stretch and really didn't feel like eating at all (but I made myself have a little breakfast).

Happy Thursday!

Lala, thank you for the hug... you're such a sweetheart. :)
I'm still a little cranky because I weighed at the clinic last night, and no surprise, I haven't lost anything this week.
This morning I'm going back to the "sample sheet" of three days of meal plans that I was given at the start of my program. I've been slowly but surely getting off track with my food choices.
Lots of veggies and fruit and good things in store for me today.
Oh, and exercise. This IS the exercise thread, right?
Thanks again, Lala.

Let's get exercising, girls! :running:
