What are your trigger foods?

  • Potato Chips. All kinds. But ESPECIALLY cheetos or salt and vinegar pringles!
  • Fettucini Alfredo and brownies. I can, and have popped them both in my mouth at the same time. Disgusting I know but they are my total food weaknesses.
  • I'll fess up - just about any type of Mexican food. Sometimes I crave bean and cheese burritos, sometime green enchiladas and sometimes those Mexican pizzas from Taco Bell.

There are some healthy foods that I do enjoy like salad with crasians or coke a cola chicken.

  • Coke a cola chicken? Unh, share that recipe? lol
  • 4 skinless boneless chicken breasts
    1 c. ketchup
    1 - 12oz can diet cola

Place chicken in a non-stick fry pan. Pour ketchup and diet cola over it. Birng to boil and cover. Reduce heat. Cook 45 min. Uncover and turn up heat and thicken til sauce adheres to chicken.
  • forgot to mention this is a ww recipe with 4 points - I usually brown the chicken, remove it from the pan, then add the soda and ketchsup and stir it then add the chicken and cook it uncovered on low. I love this with a little bit of white rice. The sauce is incredible.
  • Mine is carbs.. that is why I find the south beach diet to be helpful..
  • Corn chips. Gotta stay away from those things. Before I know it I've inhaled the whole bag. Gotta get a grip of myself and exercise some restraint.
  • Soda - coke - the sugary kind. If I drink one, I'm like an alcoholic and will end up drinking 64 to 96 ounces (or more!) a day!
  • Hi, I'm new. I read all of these entries on triggers and felt comfortable enough to put myself out there, so here goes:

    TRIGGERS & WEAKNESSES

I think that's enough for now. Sorry for rambling, but that was the first time I had really thought about and written any of that down. It felt pretty darn good....thanks!
            • Personally, I just stay away from snacks altogether...any "snack" just gets me hungrier so i stay away. I rather just stick with my diet and walk away. I am very good about keeping me diet, only cause i am very good at beating myself up after i break it, so i try my hardest to keep it...and usually do...if i avoid snacks.
So i avoid snacks and stick to it, then not feel extremely guilty and extremely upset later.

            • Almost any of my favorite foods can be a trigger food, if I let it. I used to think it just wasn't possible to eat just one Oreo or one handful of tortilla chips. I was wrong. Once I decided I wasn't going to follow a restrictive diet and that no foods were going to be "illegal" I also had to make the choice to always stay conscious when eating...but that doesn't mean that I don't eat too much popcorn at the movies - but I dont feel sick anymore afterwards. I also stay away from any sugary or fatty food when I am really hungry - recipe for disaster. My therapist also told me that scientific studies show that pleasure/taste derived from any food peaks at about the third bite. So if I'm eating something for the pure enjoyment and taste, there's no point in eating more than a few bites. For me, the first bite is always the best. But sometimes I keep eating it trying regain that first bite "high." Finally I'm learning how pointless that is.

            • Mine are pizza and pasta. I do still eat them but I try to eat the healthiest can possible and in moderation.
