Title = my frustration!... At myself.

I. CANNOT. STOP. BINGING.

5000-10,000 calories everyday for the last 5 days. Was fine last Friday, Thursday, Wednesday. And then 5,000-10,000 calories for 5 days before that. This goes back about 4 weeks. I'm now up at least 5 pounds since my lowest 128.5 - which was close to the best day ever! It would be more, but I workout A LOT and my body is starting to feel the effects (I'm currently dealing with some really bad knee pain ).

Anyways, I just need someone to tell me I'm not a complete failure, and that I can get back on track, and that... I don't know I'm just sooooo angry at myself!!! And sad!!! Bad Erica!!!

Thank you ladies (and gents)!

Um... well maybe you NEED that many calories... you say you workout allot. I have heard many athletes quote calorie counts like that ... and judging from that picture... you don't have allot of fat to feed yourself with.

Perhaps you need to visit a doctor.... a nutritionist.

OH... and one more thing.... you gain weight when you work out... its water weight from the swelling... and an injured knee will swell even more. Take a day off with NO exercise ... RELAX and plan out meals that are healthy... over 2000 calories according the the calculators I've looked at. And yes that IS to lose weight. They put maintenance for you at 2600 daily.

It's okay to have bad weeks, trust me we all do... you deserve to pig out a little (but be careful it doesn't become a habbit)

5lbs isn't a huge deal, pick yourself up next week and continue eating better and being active...

If your knee is hurting maybe see a doctor?
Good luck, I wish you luck *hugs*

I can't speak for anyone else, but I know that I'm more likely to binge when I'm physically or psychologically out of balance. If my regular diet leaves me feeling deprived, that sense of deprivation gathers momentum over time, making me more and more vulnerable to snapping. Same deal if I'm feeling mentally, emotionally or spiritually deprived. Could any of this be going on with you?

F.

p.s. I would avoid the "bad Erica" line of thinking. There's nothing inherently bad about overeating. Just try to figure out and address the reasons for it.

What is your regular diet? Are you missing anything? Sometimes binges occur after extended periods of deficit calories and some micro/macro deficiency. Are you feeling triggered to binge by the injury? Being injured from exercise is definitely a big binge trigger for me and I assume lots of other people.

Hugs Erica!
I'm not gonna beat you up, you're doing a fine job of that on your own.
I will however tell you that you are binging for a reason. Until you figure out the underlying cause, you will not be able to get control of yourself. It's time to put on your big girl panties and take a good hard look at your life. What's got you so out of "whack"???

Hmm, well I know I don't need that many calories, but I probably do need more than what I am having on what I thought were my "good" days, so I'll play around with my numbers a bit.

My exercise routine is fairly consistent so I don't think I would be holding onto anymore water weight than usual. I didn't think of the knee holding onto a bit of water weight as well though. I did actually take off 3 days last week to rest it and it flared back up as soon as I started up again - might need to see a doctor about that.

Thank you for your advice!

Thank you! It actually ended up being 6.5 pounds, haha. But I'm telling myself that's ok, and I think I'm starting to believe myself!

Well, it is final exam season, haha, I was just hoping that wouldn't effect me. Im also trying to find a new job for the new year, my IBS is also flareing up, probably because I'm eating so much food, and I had an appointment with my cardio thoracic surgeon the other day about a benign growth in my lung, which isn't really a big deal, I guess it's just added stress and more things I'm worrying and thinking about, oh, and my boyfriend is coming home in a week in a half (we're long distance right now) and I was probably putting too much pressure on myself to get thinner *sigh*. Yeeeeah... I sound like such a whiner.

Anyways, you're right, I need to relax and re-align myself. And you're definitely right about the "bad Erica" thing, I'm not a dog, I was just disappointed in myself.

Looking back, I'm definitely missing the protein my body needs, especially since I never binge on good sources of protein and that seems to be all I've been doing for the last month - binging! So as I mentioned above I'm going to have to play around with my numbers and definitely get more protein!
