Default How do you keep yourself motivated in dieting?

I don't know about others but for me, I will weight myself every week and try to maintain or aim for lose weight every time I weight myself.

My bf plays an important role in my diet journey too. He reminds me IF I PUT ON WEIGHT AGAIN and it really works for me because I always take his words seriously

My new motivation is coming here. It keeps me on track to see other people successful and share in struggles. I only weigh every two weeks which keeps me less obsessed. My other motivation is a non-looks goal. Right now I'm training for a triathlon.

Some weeks are harder than others to stay motivated. It is definitely good to have 'anchors' that can help you stay on track (or pull you back on bad days).

My anchors are my girlfriends who understand this tough journey. I also like coming to this forum because it is inspiring, and when I can help others here, it is a self-validation of my own struggles & journey too.

I took up blogging. Reading other peoples' blogs in the morning makes me motivated to stay healthy and exercise because I feel like I have a sense of community and togetherness from it.

I "go back in time:" as I can now wear clothes I stopped wearing years ago, I think that wearing them makes me younger! Today I put on a pair of pants which I stopped wearing in 2004, so instead of being 47, today I turned 39.

You know what finally motivated me to lose weight. We were going on vacation to Cinque Terre and my husband bought himself, our daughter, and me new wind jacket raincoats. Mine was the biggest one in the store 2X and when I zipped it up, I looked like a sausage in it. I was so humiliated! Well, that was about a month ago. I've lost 11 pounds since then and it atleast zips.

I went and looked at the clothes in my closet I wanted to fit back into. That helped a lot! Now a lot of those clothes are too big!
