birthday cake, and soda

  • i went to my godsons birthday party last night. he turned 4!!

i did really well yesterday... at first, i ate a light salad before the party and my friend made chicken just for me so i could eat too, but i forgot to bring water

and then the temperature hit 90 degrees. there was no water, no diet soda, just dr pepper, sprite, and coke.

i didnt want a soda, i have gone well over a month without more than a diet soda every now and then, but i wound up drinking a ton, and i broke down and had a cupcake

i figure its ok, i went over my calories by like 500 - 600, but i was outside chasing like 30 kids around for 7 hours straight, and did still manage my nightly walk. this is my first 'slip up' in 14 days, but how could i turn down a cupcake when the birthday boy brought me a special one? it was a celebration!

    back on the wagon today!
  • It sounds like a slip up but it wasn't an awful one, and you seem to have perspective on it. The key is lots of water and getting back at it
  • Happy birthday to your godson!

    Not a slip-up, just a blip. You'll be fine!
  • hes getting so big! and so sweet, but he really likes to share food. and likes to watch and make sure you eat it!
  • I wouldn't call that a slip up. Unless you plan on going the rest of your life without ever having a cupcake! There's always going to be birthday parties, and holidays that we have to deal with. You got extra exercise chasing kids and having fun!! I'd be worried if you said you had 6 or 8 cupcakes, but one on occasion is not going to hurt.
  • i was more concerned about the 40 ounces or so of soda i got stuck drinking, i dont feel guilty though, because i know that, given the choice, i would rather have water. and i have no desire to cheat today so as long as it isnt making me want to slide backwards i am fine
