What did you say "no" to this week?

This week has been a very nice and
controlled week for me. I haven't
binged and I've kept on track.

On Monday my teacher brought in
candy (since it's the day after Halloween)
and gave it to the class. I politely
refused for knowing I'd regret it later.

Then tonight my family decides that
it's a pizza night. I thought I'd give
in. I am SO glad I resisted the urge
to grab myself a slice! :D

What about you? Do you have
a certain food that you were
tempted to eat and said "NO" to?

Tell me about it!

My two younger brothers went
trick-or-treating and brought home
huge bags of candy. So, so cruel.

Chocolate chip cookies and oatmeal cookies. Seems like the last few weeks, we've had brownies and cookies out on the table CONSTANTLY. But I've said no every time. Yay me.

Asherdoodles87 11-04-2010 07:48 PM

French fries. I was craving them earlier.

cherylmn 11-04-2010 08:25 PM

I did not cave to wanting ice cream treats at the office today. They are small (90 calories), so it feels "OK", but I know with my current state of mind, that it would lead to other mishaps.

Halloween candy...not so much :(. It MUST GO! I'm packing up my kids pails tonight & putting them in bags in the closet so it isn't staring at me every day.

Nebuchadnezzar 11-05-2010 09:28 AM

Said no to the far-too-easy fast food trap. Been salivating over it (withdrawals ahoy!) and thinking "Why not make a better version myself?"

Boy, is this stuff hard.

Carrot cake

Goforit24 11-05-2010 11:59 AM

Ice cream and diet cola

coffeebean267 11-05-2010 11:19 PM

halloween candy for me too! I was very proud of myself when I refused to eat any!

LindseyLou 11-05-2010 11:42 PM

Reese's PB cups! My husband stopped at the store on the way home from work today and picked some up. I LOVE them. He ate one right in front of me...he saw me eyeing it and kinda teased me and put it up to my nose so I could smell the chocolate and PB, lol. He said are you sure you don't want half at least?

Nope. I didn't eat it! :D Very proud of myself. The old me would have been like YES PLEASE! And probably would have devoured half the bag!

pamarama 11-06-2010 02:26 PM

This beautiful chocolate chocolate chip muffin with chocolate goo in the middle  I dragged myself away, knowing I'd eat all the muffins in the box.

SillyFilly17 11-06-2010 08:43 PM

After work I would normally stop into a fast food restaurant to grab some food quickly. I DIDN'T TODAY!! Yay

I worked concession stands yesterday
as a volunteer. They offered us free
food for helping out. I resisted the
yummy-looking pizza, starbursts, and
cookies they had out. So happy! :D

And congrats to you all! :)

Violin Jenn 11-07-2010 05:46 PM

I said "NO" to buying discounted Halloween candy and other unhealthy sweets!

I also said "NO" to eating because I was bored or feeling emotional.

SillyFilly17 11-07-2010 08:01 PM

I said no to fried food 2 days in a row. For me it's trickier than it sounds!! I'm feeling much better already. And started jogging today too. Slow and steady.

usam 11-07-2010 08:34 PM

I said "no" to all Halloween candy and no to my fav. chocolate chip cookies.

Littlefox 11-08-2010 01:28 PM

I passed on a milkshake, and now sincerely regret it.

Slim CB 11-08-2010 01:44 PM

I said no to some Dunkin Donuts. They even had my favorite - double chocolate. I still said no. My co-worker was impressed with my resilience.

lottie63 11-09-2010 11:44 PM

I said no to spaghetti (my fave) when I was feeling out of control emotionally, I knew I wouldn't stop if I started.

pipernoswiper 11-09-2010 11:55 PM

we went to red lobster's shrimp fest. coconut shrimp is my favorite, but i ordered grilled shrimp and a double salad. i ate ONE piece of my friends shrimp, and i did not touch their delicious bread. :) big victory for me

ElizabethMM 11-10-2010 10:30 AM

I said no to getting fast food.

I said no to eating part of a loaded hot dog my mom didn't want.

:cp:

I said no today to chocolate cupcakes
with chocolate icing! :D

VERY happy. They were calling my name
but I resisted.

yhahmd 11-10-2010 05:01 PM

I said no to a "smarties" candy today.

MsRatFink 11-10-2010 08:24 PM

I said no to Vanilla Ice Cream w/ Magic Shell. I love that stuff.

Slim: I applaud you, I would have had to peel myself away from the Dunkin Donuts. They are my fave. There is one a block from my house. Terribly tempting but I have stayed away.

ShesLosingIt 11-12-2010 08:43 PM

Ferrero Rocher candy (diabetic ((!)) coworker brought in a ton and kept bugging me to just "have one already"), free Chik-Fil-A sandwich and, the hardest of all, egg rolls from a little Chinese place here in town.

PJay 11-12-2010 10:34 PM

I baked with my kids yesterday (my day 4 on IP).... We made 4 batches of 'Rolo' cookies...... I only make them before Christmas and this is the first time I have ever NOT had one when they were warm and chewy.... Tough but I did it:D

fillupthesky 11-26-2010 02:20 PM

i said no to a corndog. i love corndogs.
BUT- it's the day after Thanksgiving, i ate plenty yesterday, and today i am determined to stay on track!!! i packed a good lunch for myself at work, and as my coworkers will soon devour their delicious corndogs, i will pat myself on the back for not giving in to temptation.
i'm pretty sure the corndog would have triggered other terrible eating...

ChristineForMe 11-26-2010 02:59 PM

I said no to Thanksgiving dessert. Now dinner was another story :-D

Butterfly7 11-29-2010 12:46 PM

I said no to Thanksgiving Dinner. It's the only time I've never felt guilty after this Holiday, ever. It felt fantastic to go shopping the day after for new jeans with no bloat or weight gain.

This past month if my spouse goes to get fast food out I only get a happy meal or something similar from those "what not to eat" books that is 500 calories or less so I stay on my calorie counting plan. It's a big deal for me personally because before I used to get full meals large size.

JMSilver 12-03-2010 06:09 AM

I said no to a bag of peanut M&Ms. Sometimes I'm still amazed at how big the 'little' steps are.

Today I am going to eat lasagna, manicotti,
and a Bûche de Noël cake. I'm going to try
all of them, just remember to eat small portions.

I'll update this afternoon with how I did. :D

Focused Lani 12-05-2010 09:58 PM

I said no to chocolate birthday cake.

hope for recovery 12-06-2010 04:05 PM

Today i said no to cake in the office, then chocolates, then more that the 1 biscuit i had, then eating even more naughty food before dinner, then food before bed. It gets easier with time so i believe that it will get easier with time based on what i do today.

callmeKaty 12-06-2010 11:48 PM

All day today I have said no to the chex mix in my kitchen. I know it is sitting there and all day, like every five minutes, I have craved it. But I keep saying no because I know how pleased I will feel tomorrow morning when I realize that I made it through.

vdander24 12-07-2010 12:18 AM

I said no to my BF bringing over Fresh homemade Pork, chili, and sweet tamales! They are at the very top of my favorite foods list.... Not "close", not "up there", My #1 favorite food! I could easily go through 2 of each. I DO plan to indulge at Christmas, but I will be more controlled and prepare for it calorie-wise.

zeli 12-17-2010 08:12 AM

I said no to loads of beautiful sweet stuff at a meeting last night!
and I'm happy for it....after sweets, I always need rolaids....cause I can't ever stop at just one piece, so might as well say no, thank you!

ferretgirl 12-17-2010 02:50 PM

This week I said NO to Christmas treats (cookies and reeses candy, extras from kiddo's Kindergarden party) and Arby's Roast Beef Sandwich and Curly Fries (THE best tasting, but probably #1 on the "Do Not Eat These Fries" list.. Kudos to everyone else saying NO too!!

Pint Sized Terror 12-17-2010 03:48 PM

I said no to carrot cake, ice cream, fried chicken, mac and cheese and sweet rolls last night. (went to a buffet for dinner! eek!) I said yes to fresh and steamed veggies, skinless chicken and one VERY small brownie. :D

Today I said no to more than 1 Christmas cupcake, most of the cookies, chips, fruit punch and cakes that were served at my son's Christmas party at school. I had one very small cookie (about the diameter of a ping-pong ball) and a little less than half of a chocolate cupcake. They were REALLY pushing me to take the rest of the cookies, cupcakes and chips home with me, but I refused. I knew it would be over as soon as I sat them on the counter!
