i swear by lentil soup. after letting them simmer for a while, they're so creamy and thick- absolutely delicious. I'm a huge fan of pasta and white rice, and this really helps curb those cravings. I have no idea whether they're high-carb or not, but i know a well-made soup is very low in calories.

beans are filling for me, and you still get some of that starchy-ness.
i take 2 cans of beans, like kidney or black beans, and make a little salad with some scallions, celery, parsley, lemon juice and olive oil, dash of salt & pepper. eating about 1/2 cup to a cup of this will make you feel full. even better, add a little babybel cheese (light) on the side. good stuff. and beans are cheap.
i make a whole bunch of this stuff...keeps in the fridge for 5-6 days.

An omelet, eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes. Love omelets.
