I knew it was a mistake putting it in my grocery cart when I saw it on sale. But I did, and then of course it called to me from the cupboard...
Now I COULD have just eaten the entire 2000 calorie jar by spoonfuls over the course of an afternoon, but I was not going to let "it" win. And the same frugal nature that bought it because it was on sale was not going to let me throw it away.
So here's how I won the battle -
I eat a cup of vanilla non-fat yogurt per day - 170 calories worth.
I went out and purchased plain non-fat yogurt with 110 calories per cup.
I sweetened 1 cup of that plain yogurt with 1 Tbs of Nutella = 210 calories/cup. Yes, 40 extra calories than my normal yogurt but this way I'm enjoying the taste of the Nutella 1 Tablespoon at a time. There is no way my self control would have stopped at eating 1 Tablespoon if I was eating it by the spoonful. But this is working for me and for the first time in my life there is a HALF jar of Nutella on my shelf after 8 days in my house!

I am extremely impressed! WOW! Nutella is like a drug for me and if I could, I'd probably have it administered via IV, but since that would defeat the purpose, I could easily have an afternoon that would include inhaling the contents of that jar with some white bread as soon as possible. I cannot be trusted with it for a second! So...I"m very impressed!
Thinkinthin- Hi, Nutella is a chocolate hazelnut spread. It's very rich and chocolate and creamy. It is one of my favorites. If you have a victory over Nutella, you have to be a strong person, I once ate the whole jar in one day! I refuse to buy it anymore even if it's on sale.
Congratulations! and that's an awesome idea!
Nutella is the devil... there is no way I could keep a jar in the cupboard for over a week. I had to banish it altogether, at least for a while.
Oh my gosh you guys, I thought I was the only one in the whole world who could not have certain foods in the house or otherwise, I would eat every bit of it or die trying!! It's really quite a downer for me to think I have no more self control than that, but I feel more strength now reading what you all have said. Thanks!!!
<3 Wow.
I couldn't have it in my home without it being gone in a flash!
Well done!!!! <3 You have truly defeated that gooey, chocolatey-hazelnutty demon <3
I love Nutella too and everytime there's one in the house I take a spoon telling myself just one spoon but then end up continuously going back to take more. No more buying of Nutella!
I love nutella spread on really crisp, tart apples, but I can't control myself around it during PMS/TOM (but I'm only interested in chocolate during PMS and TOM). So I don't buy it.
Wow, you are awesome! I have to go to Cost Plus and get those tiny single serving packets if I want to eat Nutella. Such an evil invention! I close my eyes and run past the Nutella display at Costco, too!!
