Unhappy temptation :-(

Sooo next Friday I'm supposed to be going home to the suburbs for a couple days. I'll be staying by my friends house and she informed me that her and her fiance were going to go to dinner at TGIF's that night. So I'm thinking I should definitely not go because I could at least spend another couple hours studying while they're at dinner before I come over. On top of that I went to TGIF's website and they have NO nutritional information listed whatsoever. I was a little surprised because even Chili's has nutritional info posted on their page. And just from glancing at the menu EVERYTHING looks undeniably high in calories. The last thing I want to do is eat a 3,000 calorie dinner I'm just afraid that if I go there thinking I'll get something that "shouldn't" be too bad...it'll be way more calories than I think it is. And then I'm also afraid that if I go to dinner with them there, once we get back to their house I'll just keep eating. They have all kinds of candy and crap that I'll be tempted to eat..and if I start the night off with eating at TGIF's it'll be like...well what the heck! Let's just keep on going and worry about it tomorrow! :-( Needless to say I don't want ANY of that to happen but I also can't stand that this kind of situation will keep me from hanging out with my friends I don't know....anyone else have the same problem??

Here's some calorie info for TGIF:

You may be able to find something that won't hurt you caloriewise. If you feel it'll be too much of a struggle, however, then sure...definitely stay home. I've done it a few times myself.

But sometimes it's also good to get some "real world" experience and live a normal life, going out with your friends while still maintaining a healthy lifestyle...you know? This is something that is hopefully going to stick with you for the rest of your life. And at this point you may feel it's too much too soon, but eventually you'll get a handle of it.

Work your bum off not to eat the junk at your friend's house. You just have to stay focused on what is more important...reaching your goal, or that temporary mouthful of chocolate?

Drinking a lot of water helps me, I've found. My stomach feels much fuller, and it tends to curb my cravings.

Yeah ya know as soon as I posted this I googled it and the dailyplate popped up. I love that site! haha And of the course the one thing I probably would of picked wound up being 1500 calories according to the daily plate! lol But I spotted their turkey burger and it's supposed to only be 400 calories and if I swap out fries for veggies I think I'll be golden! I'll just have to resist the appetizers because I'm sure they will order some. I'm a little scared because I know what I've done in the past but I especially don't want to overeat because my best friend's bridal shower is that Saturday and I'm wearing a dress So yeah, I don't want to wake up the next day feeling fat and really guilty. But you're right, regardless, I can't stay cooped up the rest of my life...I need to learn to say no and pick healthy choices when I eat out. So depending on how my week goes and if I have to study or not I think I will venture out and hopefully everything will be ok

I usually get the Shrimp Key West at Fridays. It's only 4 WW points...very low in cals.

It's very flavorful and comes with yummy broccoli. Good luck to ya!

Wth?

We've been best friends for 13 years and I didn't know you were allergic to shrimp! LOL!

But yeah... I'd do it. Go for that turkey burger! Can't avoid living our lives!

yeah dude it's really WEIRD allergy. I used to break out in hives only sometimes when I was kid just from eating popcorn shrimp but then you remember all the new years parties by your moms and I'd eat a whole frickin tray of the stuff??? lol I think it's got something to do with the iodine in the vein of the shrimp and whether it's removed or not. But now I just don't even want to bother with it so I pop a benadryl and I don't get the hives lol
