Where did you get this information? I knew that it was not good for people with thyroid issues to eat soy but watermelon and bananas? I would be interested to know what other foods are not good.

I read a lot about foods not to eat with hypothyroid online after being diagnosed in June. I had an appt. last Friday and asked my dr. about this, and she said I don't need to eliminate ANY food, just don't eat soy and goitrogens within 4 hours of taking my synthroid. I take it in the morning, so I can eat whatever at lunch and dinner.

She said there is a lot of misinformation about hypothyroid on the internet.

Exactly...there is a lot of misinformation, I can have soy, but as stated above, I need to wait four hrs. after my Levothyroxine to have it. I eat bananas and watermelon, I don't think any healthy foods need to be cut, and I have had hypothyroidism for years. The only thing I cannot have is grapefruit, and that is due to my blood pressure medication.
