I am about 60 pounds overweight 2 kiddo's later and I want to drop some weight i just dont know where to start ? i drink tons of coke and as gross as teh sounds i bought a huge think of coke about 2 weeks ago like 36 cans and drank all of them in 3 dayS!!!! and i eat tons of fast food !! Some help me out here
I guess I would start with the coke.Amazing amount of calories and sugar.(I assume you are drinking full calorie coke??)You will most likely lose weight weekly just substituting you coke for water, tea and even an occasional diet pop.My very good friend stopped drinking mountain dew and lost 20 lbs in 2 months, without changing her diet at all.
Just cutting out the soda and the fast food will make a huge difference!! Baby steps at first! Start limiting yourself because quitting cold turkey will be difficult!
20 pounds would be awesome for me . I drink way to much coke and i have no clue why and no its not diet if i can cut that out and my fast food i think it would help alot its ust going to be hard when i dont drink coke i get so cranky
I used to drink Mountain Dew like it was going out of style. I would drink more than a 2 liter a day sometimes and not drinking soda was by far my biggest obstacle.
I stopped drinking it for 2 days, and afterwards I opened a can of it and could barely drink it. After you don't have it for a while and then try some, the sugar and soda taste is really strong, and I lost my taste for it. Even now, people can drink Mountain Dew in front of me and I don't give it a second thought. Before though I would have killed someone for a sip heh.
Another thing that stopped me from drinking soda is I realized how expensive it is. Soda costs have really gone up here, and when I sat down and thought about it, I was spending way too much money on something that wasn't a necessity.
You don't always have to go cold turkey either. Cut yourself down to one a day, then one every other day, then 2 a week and so on and so forth. It might take a while, but if it will kill your cravings in the long run, it would be worth it.
Edit: Oh yeah, I forgot to mention about not having coke makes you cranky. I get migraines sometimes, and caffiene is the only thing that has ever gotten rid of my headaches. I used to justify my Mountain Dew intake by saying "well I have a headache." I used to get really bad migraines too, I couldn't even turn in bed without throwing up. Since I've stopped drinking soda, I haven't gotten one migraine. So, you might be cranky for the first couple days, but it's normal. Smokers are the same way, and it's that way with just about any habit.

My vice was diet Coke. I was having regular migraines. I was also drinking 2 diet Cokes every morning at work, rain or shine. One morning I was out of pop and didn't want to go to the store, so I just didn't have any. I decided that I was going to stop the habit since I was trying to get healthier and the diet coke isn't a healthy thing (for me).
Guess what. I have not taken a migraine pill in 6 weeks. That's not quite long enough for me to know for sure it was the diet coke, but I have a very strong suspicion that it was contributing to my problem. I still have one occasionally with lunch or on the weekend, but my consumption is drastically reduced and so are the migraines so to me, it's worth giving it up!
In reality, you knew what you had to do, we are just supporting the choice. You labelled the coke and fast food as major problems with your diet, that are easily fixable. You may find going to one diet cola a day will help prevent you from getting too cranky. The caffeine withdrawal will be difficult, and nothing seems to help the headache that goes with that, so do it slowly.
Also, why do you eat a lot of fast food? hate to cook? travel for work? I eat out a lot, but have figured out healthy or healthier choices for most stuff, and am doing better. ( simply giving up the fries for instance will make a huge difference, at Wendy's you can have a baked potato and if you don't smother it with butter or sour cream, you will be fine.
good luck and welcome
