Default Overeating again...

Thanksgiving was the start. I didn't even cook much this year, but there's only me and my husband so I had 3 days of leftovers. And work brought in food all weekend. I had a big test today, and I've been stressing so bad that I just gave up on trying to control myself. And so now that I've been eating the bad foods, HFCS crap, and all sorts of sugar, I'm back to craving it. I ate half a large pizza tonight, even though I ate like 3 theater sized boxes of candy and like 2 pops already... UGH my stomach hurts so bad from all the eating! Help me get control of myself again! I can't believe that just 1 week could throw me into such a tailspin.

You say you're craving the foods because you gave into them. I want to throw something at you to think about for a while. If you didn't feel abd about eating those foods, just totally accepted your human, you ate them, and it's okay. Would you be beating yourself up, and 'craving' them or would you be able to just go forward without thinking you need to eat more 'bad' food ?

Default I agree with Lauren

You really need to give yourself permission to splurge a little for your Thanksgiving. If you are finding this stuff makes you feel bad, all the better. Think about that and not about your problems, but about how you don't enjoy the feeling.
(I am finding I don't enjoy the feeling when I overeat or binge, and I think about the feeling when I think I am losing control, it helps me stop!)
Concentrate on the physical feelings, and not the low self worth feelings.
We won't get and stay healthy physically if we can't be healthy inside.

You do have the right to eat bad things every once in a while you know... But if you allow yourself a candy bar or something like once a week, you might not feel the urge to go all out with things because you know you've had a treat. I've found that when I crave and am not hungry, I do sit-ups until I can't do anymore and then drink a big glass of water. I don't feel like eating anymore. It's always worth a shot. Just because you had a problem at this point in time, doesn't mean you should give up or beat yourself up about it, just go right back to your plan and don't even think about it. If you do you'll cause more stress and it'll happen all over again.

You sound like me, if I go off plan, even just a little, it sends me over the edge! Don't beat yourself up, you had a bad week, we all do! Last week I ate 7 chocolate chip cookies, in the middle of the night!!!! Why? No idea, knew they were bad for me, knew they were 460 calories for the cookies, ate them anyways. You can not beat yourself up everytime you screw up, screw ups are going to happen, it's part of what you are doing. The important thing is to jump right back on plan afterwards. Don't let it derail you for any period of time. Just get right back on & keep going! Good luck!

I completely understand about you craving more of them once you have had them. It's the same for me, I am satiated, happy and content as long as I eat clean. But once I eat a portion of something unclean, it makes me want more of it an hour later. That is why I don't "reward" myself with things I know will make me get off plan. Besides, I have had my eye on some gold pumps for at least a month--and I really need them for New years!
