drinking coffee is definitely not for me... I don't know about quitting as i have not tried! =) I think drinking coffee helps me NOT binge in the AM, actually.

Actually I think drinking coffee helps me from eating. Often when I am hungry, if I have a cup of coffee it gets my mind off food.

I also find that drinking coffee helps me stave off cravings in the morning. It's kind of like a comfort food substitute.

In the evenings, I make do with tea.

If it is a trigger for you, maybe it's something you put in the coffee? Do you add sugar or flavored creamer?

Nope its just black. The funny thing is I gave up coffee last month. And I went from being a short tempered/sharp person to someone quite laid back.
But when I was giving up the I emptied the pantry.

This doesn't happen to me but it's an overeating trigger for my mother, for some reason.

Weird huh? Does anyone else react like this?

For me, it fills me up and has quite the opposite effect.

It's definitely a trigger for me. It tames my appetite at first but then after an hour or so I'm ravenous. I get a 20oz coffee every morning but started making it 3/4 decaf and 1/4 regular which doesn't affect my hunger. So I guess big doses of caffeine is my trigger.

I need the coffee in the morning to keep from eating everything in site. I drink my cup and then wait until hunger strikes me. I usually end up eating a later, more well though out breakfast. However, and I think this is crucial, I drink my coffee black. I don't sweeten it which I think could lead to cravings for more sugar.

I have to agree with that it does the same for me, But i try to only have it in the morning because ill get in panic attack mode if i drink it throughout the day.

I don't usually drink coffee but I bought a can of it the other day and learned how to work the coffee maker. I've had a lot the past few days since it's been so cold. I find it keeps me from eating so much. I'm now at that point where I feel like I want to eat but I'm not hungry and nothing sounds good. It's interesting, I also drink tea and it definitely does not have that effect! I put soy milk in my coffee, I don't know if that affects anything.

I am even finding this problem with decaff. Maybe its something else in the coffee?
